spookymod
for the ps coding discord's halloween contest i made a halloween solomod. its a monothreat ghost micrometa of 31 mons (counting formes) that includes very silly things such as:the sheet
- several mons with three or four typings, plus a couple new types added for good measure
300 pp rage fist (along with every ghost move being various levels of ridiculous) magic spells you can pick up and use inbattle jumpscares ingame (yes, real ones) random dynamax and tinymax no 'k' (sorry, i forgot it existed) ace representation Merasmus (From Team Forretress Two For The Xbox Three Sixty)
handing over control to Soda_Eesti33 Valuemons33 Valuemons is a tier based around Generation 5 mechanics, but with mons from gens 1-4. You can use ANY pokemon, but you have a set budget to "purchase" your team from (similar to draft), so you need to be careful about what you buy. There are many changes from gen 5 to the specific Pokemon, to buff and nerf certain Pokemon. The full changes, pricing and more can be found on the document below.

Massive credit to Regimus for creating and starting up the format, and doing all the hard work. I'm just the middle man.
The updated spreadsheet is now available to access! Sorry that it took nearly two weeks, I was caught up in a lot of things, and now I finally got the chance to release it. Of course, these won't be the only changes (the spreadsheet is currently a little unfinished,) more stuff will be planned, but feel free to take a look!Name of Mod: Path of Legends

Buzzwords: Gen 9 National Dex-based Micrometa with Fakemon, Custom Abilities and Moves, and Changes to Existing Mechanics
Beaftopia is myshameless ripoff of Scootopiaanswer to the ever-popular genre of Solomods where one person handcrafts a micrometa from scratch in order to show off their personal design philosophy. In this case, I wanted to try making a mod that plays fundamentally different from base mons without being too divorced from regular mechanics.
In order to achieve that effect, I did a few things. Firstly, defensive Rock types are designed to be cornerstones of the meta. Offensive Fires, Flyings, and Normals are all supercharged, while Waters and Grasses are few and far between, particularly on the offensive side, enabling Rock types to really showcase their defensive chops here. Defensive pieces as a whole are also designed to pair well with the defensive Rock options, covering their weaknesses and enabling them in their niches.
Secondly, status conditions have been completely overhauled. Paralysis and Freeze do not exist here, Sleep only exists with Rest, Pokemon cannot be Badly Poisoned, and Burn is now volatile. However, to compensate, some effects have been changed. Burn, while volatile, is also much easier to spread now, with most secondary effects that can cause Burn having their odds of Burning buffed heavily. This is because Burn now serves as an offensive tool, with its old effects replaced by affected Pokemon losing an additional 12.5% of their HP every time they are hit by an attack. Confusion is now non-volatile, and doesn't prevent the affected Pokemon from attacking (instead dealing damage after the attack completes). This lets it replace Burn as a tool for shutting down physical attackers. Finally, Infatuation has been changed as well, now affecting Pokemon regardless of gender (though Genderless Pokemon are still immune). Instead of immobilizing affected Pokemon, Infatuation now makes those Pokemon deal halved damage when targetting the source of the Infatuation. This makes it an extremely strong defensive tool, especially when combined with the many new/buffed ways of inflicting Infatuation, so players will need to plan around Infatuation users when building with wallbreakers.
Weather has also seen a major overhaul, though not quite as much as status conditions. Rain and Sun no longer boost the power of Water and Fire-type moves respectively, but to compensate, weather set by Drizzle, Drought, or Snow Warning lasts significantly longer. This allows weather teams to serve specific playstyles without being as forced into offensive builds by limited weather turns, but should also avoid some of the more polarizing effects of constant weather. While I'm sure people are going to experiment with different builds, and I encourage them to do so, my vision here was for Sun to serve as a bulky offense/stall weather, Rain to serve as a stallbreaking weather, and Snow to serve as a hyper offensive weather. Most Pokemon with recovery are forced to rely on weather-based recovery moves, driving home the Rain/Sun dichotomy, and Snow abusers are all fast and frail, relying on pivoting and setup to make progress.
Those were the core pieces of my design philosophy, but I've also got a few other miscellaneous things I wanted to mention. The power level is a bit lower than you'd usually see in this kind of mod, with the average BST being around 490. This is because I wanted traditionally weak types/mechanics to have some breathing room without massively inflating stat totals. I've also nerfed some traditionally strong offensive items, namely Choice Band/Specs and Life Orb. In most modern metas, these items choke out the offensive item meta, and I'd like to see more versatility in the items people run. Defensive mons are also a bit more frail and have less reliable recovery, and setup is less widely distributed, in order to emphasize the power of a +1 stat boost.
That's all the yapping I've got on this. I'll be coding this myself, so I'll post an update once everything is live. I hope some of y'all will give the mod a try once it's live, and if you have any thoughts, I'd love to hear them!
