okay say i have a porygon....i have a way of eving it 252sp/sp att without it gaining a level. When i trade this porygon with an upgrade then a dubious disk will it stats refresh and gain points from the evs?

If by "give it 252/252 without it gaining a level" you mean using the AR code, then the EVs take effect automatically without doing anything.

oh well i better not do that then cause they are going to be used at level 1.....if they are OHKOing everthing i think that will be a bit obvious.
What if i use vitamins while it is at level 1 THEN evolve it by the trade? Will it gain stats due to the evs and due to evolving?

If you give them vitamins then put them in the pc, then take them out, the evs will be gained.

I am not very familiar with this site, and I have looked high and low for this. Is there a list of benchmark speeds for use in computing how many EVs in speed I should use? I recall one being made for r/s/e, but I can't find one for Diamond.
(Another easy question: How could/ should I have searched for it?)

Hey guys, just wondering... I read on pkmn.net that Munchlax can only be found on the honey trees outside the Iron works and Valley windworks. Does anyone have any idea if this is true? I was under the belief that honey pokemon were randomized.
I think Munchlax only appears at the tree in Valley Windworks. I haven't found it yet, though, so it might be rare.
ok, I have a question: How does confusion work?
My friend was battling and he confused a pokemon. That pokemon inturn hit itself for some heavy damage. The pokemon was carvanha. The move that was used was confuse ray... I would like it if someone would explain the mechanics of being confused. Or if they could redirect me. Thank you.
A confused Pokemon has a 50% chance of hurting itself each turn, for 1-4 turns. It's a standard damage calculation with the confused Pokemon as the attacker and defender, and the move used is a typeless physical attack (I'm not sure about the power).

The stats are recalculated every time you use a vitamin.

It is not true. I caught my Munchlax in a honey tree just Southeast of Eterna Forest.

Is there any calculator available where I can input my pokemon's level and Ivs to calculate what EV's it has?

I don't think so, but all you need to know is the stat formula:

Total Stat=((2*base stat)+5+Rand1+(Rand2/4)))*Rand3

Rand1=Iv, 0-31
Rand2=Ev's, 0-252
Rand3=Nature, positive nature =1.1, otherwise 1

For HP, replace the +5 with +110, and Rand3 is not used.

If you memorize this and have a simple calculator handy, i assure you it will work better than any iv calculator.

Total Stat=((2*base stat)+5+Rand1+(Rand2/4)))*Rand3
That's not the formula. The flooring in the formula can throw things off if you rearrange the variables.

Total Stat=floor[(floor[(Base Stat * 2 + IV + floor[EVs/4]) * Level / 100] + Number) * Nature]

Number = Level + 10 for HP, 5 for the other stats
Nature = 1.1 for positive, 1 for neutral, 0.9 for negative

I know it could seem nitpicky, but I don't like it when people give false information--intentional or otherwise.
