Gamefreak is not going to reduce Regigigas' stats. They may change the allocation, but it's an almost sure bet that the Pokemon will always have 670 base stats. The company doesn't care about making Regigigas 'OU' or balancing it around any fan-made metagame.
They altered Deoxy's, didn't they? Gamefreak didn't just say "ok, let's just take normal Deoxys and give it good defense for defense-form Deoxys." Rather, they reduced it's Attack and Speed stats and in turn raised it's defensive stats. Gamefreak may not care much for our metagame (although it's shocking close to theirs at the Battle Tower), but they know when too far is too far. Especially since they tried so hard to make Regigigas not be broken. It doesn't learn Rest for crying out loud.
Levitate = Stat Reduction
'Course, I can't even see Levitate Regigias existing. That thing almost weighs 1000 pounds? Not to mention it doesn't seem like the super-smart psychic levitater. But rather the smashy-smashy type.
I agree, Familiar Trainer. If the are going to make a change for the better for any pokemon, its going to cost them. Nintendo does want battles to be fair, so they make take some metagame intersets into heart.
Right. And all of them maintained the ability Pressure.
This might be the first time stats get changed. If it even will get Levitate in the first place, which I still find doubtful :x Perhaps if it does, attack will be lowered? I mean, it's harder to attack when your floating around in the sky. Or lower defenses? I dunno.

Well, technically the code for Charizard, Mewtwo, etc. was always in Ruby or Sapphire. Your friend with FR/LG could trade you a Charizard no problem. The game didn't suddenly "download" new data for Kanto Pokemon. The problem with Platinum introducing completely new evolutions is that you'd never be able to trade them to DP, PBR, or even battle anyone with these previous games. It would be nice if DP had a little extra space for new Pokemon to be added, but I doubt Game Freak had the foresight to do so.
So, very unlikely.
We did know the code though, and we could find the older Pokemon in it. Thus we knew they still existed.
D/P was hacked apart the day it was released and onward, and no new Pokemon were found outside of Arceus/Shaymin/Darkrai.

Hmm. Seed Flare maybe? I mean, Seed Flare hasn't been animated yet in the TV series, so maybe that's what it is supposed to look like. Maybe even Solarbeam? Other then those two, I don't have much of a clue.
Regigigas is the leader of a trio, it's likely that he was always intended to be a fully powered uber. It's possible he appeared so weakened in D/P as a sort of gag, or to stall for his heightened importance in Platinum (of which, if his color is slightly changed by the yet unseen form, he may be the namesake pokemon).
Some of those voices are extremely annoying. Ugh, @ Dialga and Palkia. Didn't we just see their ugly mugs in the last film? Why not show us the other legendary pokemon? They certainly created enough of them.
The next movie needs to be about Azelf, Uxie and their ugly stepsister mesprit.
I think Ashenlock presented a good point. Is it a forgone conclusion that Giratina will be the star of the show?
I noticed something. If the new Shaymin form is part ice (what gave them that idea anyway?), imagine how people who SRed for a HP Ice Shaymin would feel, since logic would dictate that an Ice type would learn Ice attacks.
I've noticed every generation has adjusted level-up movelists: Yellow did Pikachu and Eevee (also shuffled around when the Nidorans learned Double Kick, as well as making the cocoons learn Harden so a Metapod caught as a Caterpie learned it instead of just having Tackle and String Shot), Crystal played with Eevee (BP) and Suicune, and it was actually FR/LG that did this in Advance (Icicle Spear Sheller, Destiny Bond Cacturne). Also Deoxys, but that was a form thing.
I don't like the odds of TM compatibility changing, since the last time THAT happened was in Yellow (strangely enough, Charizard couldn't learn Fly in Red/Blue).

While I still think it's waaaay too early for a D/P remake, I wouldn't mind so much if we got some sort of Alternate Universe Sinnoh, as seen in that video. That would actually be kind of cool. ^^
