Does Gengar absorb Toxic Spikes? I was battling on Shoddy and although Gengar wasn't affected by the spikes, he didn't absorb them. Normal or maybe a bug?

This move lays down poison-inducing spikes on the opponent's field. If the move is used twice, the Toxic Spikes will result in toxic poison.

Well here's some more info on that.

If the opponent uses Rapid Spin, the Toxic Spikes are removed. If the Toxic Spikes hit a Poison type, they are removed. Toxic Spikes do nothing to Flying, Poison, or Steel types, or Pokémon with the ability Levitate. If Gravity is in effect, Flying and Levitating Pokemon are hit by Toxic Spikes upon switching in. If a Flying or Levitating Pokemon is holding an Iron Ball, it is hit by Toxic Spikes upon switching in. If a Flying or Levitating Pokemon is Baton Passed an Ingrain, it is hit by Toxic Spikes upon switching in. If a Pokemon is Baton Passed a Substitute, they are not hit by Toxic Spikes.

Toxic Spikes do not activate the ability Synchronize.

Got in from the Newer Still DP Research Thread thingy. xD

What is the Rebattle Heatran code?

I don't believe there is a working one.

More shodddy problems...
Soemone started a battle, left the room right away, and I won. Right? But when I went to close the window, I got the "You will forefit if you leave... ect"

Would I get a loss if I left? It let it time out.

That's what I thought but then why isn't the manaphy egg event working on Diamond even though I pressed L+R, and went into the pokemart, but the dude who's supposed to give you the egg wasn't there, any help?

I believe you have to have mystery gift unlocked. which brings up the question how to unlock that?

allright, my question is with a pokemon that i think is hacked.
My gyrados has adamant nature, and 100 EV's in speed, which gives it 233 speed. After a dragon dance, it gets 334 speed. Now, the person i was fighting on the site had a celebi that switched into my gyrados as it dragon danced. In the strategy pokedex, it says that celebi can only reach 328 speed....so does that mean that the other guy's celebi has hacked skills?
If Celebi was holding a Choice Scarf it'd reach speeds of 492.

My previous question concerning details of the Japanese Shaymin event were answered by going to the movie's site. Should have thought of that earlier.

Hey I'm torn between the two. What's better for Support Froslass: Thunderwave and Confuse Ray, or Destiny Bond and Spikes?

Really??? I always thought the other set was kind of deadly but alright (only those two though thanks). You know what I never knew what is IMO?

Okay, so EV training is really fucking gay and I can't figure this (BAN ME PLEASE)ass shit out. Do you have to level up to get the Effort Ribbon if you have "uncashed" EV's?

Ok. But what can spikes and DB really do that the wave and ray can't? I mean I know what they can do, but I'm looking for examples of how they have been played other than opinion.

Well since I've EVed many times I know what to do. Every stat caps out at 255 right? But most use the 252/252 instead of 255/255 so they have an extra 4 EVs to use.

Well use must have 510 EVs in order to get the Effort Ribbon. If the lady says it needs to work harder you have to see what you did wrong or continue EV Training.

Many of the spreads on Smogon are based on a 508 Spread because if you use something like 252 Atk / 252 Spe / 4 HP it gets the same effect as a 252 Atk / 252 Spe / 6 HP as 4 EVs = 1 Stat Point unless you are using a Positive Nature so that when you hit that magical number you get 2 Stat Points instead of 1. So possibly you're missing 2 EVs.

And no you dont have to Level the Pokemon up. You can get the Effort Ribbon once you max out on EVs or reach 510 EVs.

Yes, this puzzles me, I did 6 HP, or so I thought. I don't know how I keep fucking it up, I tally it carefully and everything. Is there a good guide around here on this? This is so humiliating.

Do you use Pokerus and Power Items? EV Training is easy for me if I use those.

Yes I did.

Okay, this is even more puzzling. After doing an IV battle... On MetalKid, I punched in the lv. 100 stats with my (intended) EV's and solved for my IV's, they came out correct. Then I punched in my IV's and (intended) EV's and solved for my Lv. 100 stats, and they came out correct again. So I figure perhaps I've missed two IV's (even though I went way over on Atk at the end I'm pretty sure), and go out and battle a couple times, no ribbon. What the fuck?

Anyone know a guide? Possibly in C&C?

Edit: In case this helps...

Sneasel: 27/31/X/X/X/31
Intended EV's: 40/252/X/X/X/216
Lv. 100 Stats: 257/289/X/X/X/352

Is any of mesprit's information set when you first encounter it in the cave, or is it all set when you encounter it in the wild?

Say I have a Japanese and an Amercian version of D/P. If I traded a Pokemon with a TM attached from the Japanese version to the American version, will the TM and the Pokemon's info such as nature, ability, moves, etc. be english?

I was almost going to post a new topic about the following but did not have time to organize all the links. Today is May 12, 2008 and is supposed to be the date that Pokemon Ranch comes out in North America. I have yet to go onto the wii to check but am wondering if others have attempted to download Pokemon Ranch. From what I understand, it is worth 1000 wii points and can store up to 1000 pokemon. What I don't know is whether it really is available today for sure and whether I could store it on more than one memory card in the event I have over 1000 different pokemon that I want to store separately. I've tried google searching for news and come up with nothing new to my dismay. So if anybody has any updates I'd appreciate it very much.

for Lucario is it better to have Dark Pulse or Shadow Ball. they have the same base power (80) but Dark Pulse flinches while Shadow Ball lower SpDef. Dark Pulse hits Normal types for neutral while shadow ball doesnt. Shadow ball hits Fighting types for neutral while dark pulse damage is cut in half.

im leaning to shadow ball as it hits Gallade and Medicham for SE damage while Dark Pulse hits Girafarig for SE damage.

what do you guys think is flinching more important than lowering Sp DefÉ
