The oddity with the bar position is probably because it's battle start and the animation is still running. The darker color might come from a shadow effect while the pokémon is appearing.(isn't this so in DP aswell?) The bar is still darker than usual though.

I hope Volkner doesn't become the Champion like Wallace in Emerald. It'd be a sad sight to see a worthy champion such as Shirona (or Cynthia) to be dethroned.

If it's anything like Emerald, then Cynthia will have concured the Pokemon World settling in a nearby cave as a Pokemon Master. You will still get the chance to play her, but at a higher level.

Yasmine from G/S/C as the Gym Leader?

Yeah thats what i was thinking, like the HP bar will slide into place from the right, and the screenshot just captured it right before it did so.

It'd be a sad day indeed when Cynthia is sent to some dark dingy cave in the middle of nowhere like past Pokemon Champions (Red, Steven). Cynthia doesn't seem to me like she'll be caved though. First of all, she doesn't even like caves from what we know (unlike Steven), and she actually plays a role in the story (unlike Red). If anything I can see her waiting at the Spear Pillar as a final battle or as Champion, but nothing else.

Jasmine's beloved type is Steel, but we already have a Steel Gym in Sinnoh. She did seem to sort of like Electrics (Magnemites and Ampharos), however those Pokemon aren't found in the current Sinnoh dex. I'd still say a random person takes over the gym or Cyrus is the new 8th gym leader.

Volkner seemed to have renewed ambition after the player defeats him for the eighth gym badge, and IIRC he mentioned something about having tried or wanted to try the Elite Four in the past. But I don't want to stick with saying anything for sure since I've been wrong about several things.

Perhaps Cynthia will have some place on the supposed Battle Island; she wasn't distraught after the champion battle and does not seem the kind of person to fade out, involved as she was in the affairs of the game.

Giratina isn't in D/P Sinnoh Dex either, but it looks like we'll be able to caught it before the E4.

Game Freak will probably rearrange the Sinnoh Dex for Giratina, why wouldn't they add Magnemite(zone) and Ampharos? And seriously, Volkner was a Electric-based Gym Leader, but had... Ambipom. Magneton+Magnezone+Ampharos+Steelix with Thunder Fang looks like a pretty feasible to team for Jasmine.

Lol, Earthquake.

yeah, no doubt. But will volkner be the new champ for the e4?

Possible, I guess. Giratina I can see being added to make 152. But the Sinnoh Dex woudn't be changed for just Magnemite/Mareep family, seeing as they aren't important. If they were added though, the Sinnoh dex would probably be upgraded to have 200 Pokemon. It'd also be the first time a Gym Leader has changed their type affinity. Brock, Misty, Lt. Surge, Erika, Sabrina, Koga, Janine, Blaine, Giovanni, Falkner, Bugsy, Whitney, Mortey, Chuck, Pryce and Claire, for as long as we knew them, always stayed with one type for the most part.

Possible. But with the complications, just as possible as a new random person or Cyrus.

Ugh don't tell me he is. I'm going to guess that Flint and Volkner will switch places (!!). Yeah, it sounds odd.

And assuming we're still following the stat format of Dialga/Palkia and Giratina, I'm taking a shot of guessing the new form's stats.

HP: 90
Atk: 120
Def: 100
Spd: 150
SAtk: 120
SDef: 100

I don't think the Origin Form can actually have a 90 base HP stat. Every time there's been something with alternate forms, the HP stat is the only one that can never change. Eg. Wormadam all have 60 base HP, Deoxys all have 50 base HP, and they've never changed.

I'm guessing Volkner will take over for Aron, while Jasmine will take over for Volkner. Aron has low self-confidence, and after you beat him, he states "Well, back to training camp for me" or something in the realms of that. I'd like to see him roaming around the Safari Zone.

But at the same time, Giratina is the "balanced" one out of the trio, and the only other option is to switch HP with speed, which -may- actually make sense.

It has never changed in the past, but there's no telling it wouldn't in the future...unless HP has some sort of special coding which can't be altered upon form change...

this has been discussed before, and we came to the conclusion that with those base stats it would be quite overpowered.

i think..

It's also possible that his attack would be base 150, instead of speed. His signature move is physical, while Palkia and Dialga have special moves to complement their base 150 SA.

90 HP
150 Att
100 Def
120 Spd
120 SA
100 SD

He's still balanced defensively, but now his attack and SA complement Dialga/Palkias, which makes more sense.

yes... of course. Too bad his signature move sucks

It's a shame that it does, too, because the ghost type, especially on the physical side, envies very strong attacks that other types have. I suppose anything too good would subdue much of the uber metagame.

I doubt HP is going to change based solely on existing branches of pokemon. Poliwrath/Toed, Vileplume/Bellossom, Slowbro/King, Hitmons, Gardevoir/Gallade, Wormadams, Deoxys.

The only notable exception is Eevees and Mothim who has Base 70 HP to Wormadam's Base 60 for some reason.

My stab at the stats:

HP: 150
Atk: 120
Def: 90
Satk: 100
Sdef: 100
Speed: 120

More physical Ubers plox >_>

If memory serves, isn't there someone in G/S/C who says that Jasmine changes her gyms type a lot during her time as gym leader, and that she happened to be using steel-type pokemon at the time because they're a newly discovered type? If this is true then I don't see any reason she couldn't become the electric gym leader.

I'll be interested to see how much connectivity Platinum has with D/P and its various additions (PBR, ect.)

You are great. In the lighthouse where we found Ampharos, there was a sailor who said that!

That's true. Platinum would be before than GSC, so it could be Electric at first, but after travelling to Sinnoh, he found steel type. (Steelix is everywhere in Sinnoh, and it's the first fully evolved by a trade in the game...) It would play as Electric in Platinum, but when she came to Johto, she changed to Steel.

But wait, remember in the beginning of the game, there was the event of the Red Gyarados? This is after the battle with her so this is AFTER she was in Johto. Maybe she went on a soul searching after the defeat from the Gold/Silver character or something. THEN she discovers a "change" in her type liking and tries out the electric type.

Thats just my 2 cents.
