"oh noes, 4x weakness, what a shit Pokemon!"

Seriously guys, it's pretty stupid to complain about certain typings for a Pokemon.

Oh I know! GameFreak should just make Ghost/Dark Pokemons because that would own! /sarcasm

Anyways, I can't wait for the new version coming out. I'm grateful for everything they've done for the new version. :)

It's not just the 4x weakness that kills it, it's the SR weak that goes along with it. STAB [insert Flying move here] isn't exactly the best choice for an addition to its movepool. At least it's still not weak to Pursuit?

On Serebii it says Shaymin will automatically convert to Sky Form when sent over to Platinum and will stay Land Form on Diamond & Pearl. This obviously means that whatever moves Shaymin gets on Platinum in it's Sky Form will be usable with it's Land Form in Diamond or Pearl.

Which in turn means we don't really need to complain about the disadvantages of the Sky Form since we can simply go back to using the Land Form with Sky Form moves anyway.

I sure hope shaymin gets some new offensive moves and aren't just flying type. HP Fire and psychic already covers what flying is SE against. I wonder what its base stats are... ~___~

Serebii added a new line:
The new characters are apparently there to determine the cause of the recent climate change, which has made Sinnoh colder, which explains the ultra warm clothes of the protaganists
So I guess that we won't have a new Gym Leader after all.

I don't want to hold my breath for Sky Shaymin's movepool; GameFreak has the tendency of screwing us over with those.

Take Air Slash for example. It's not present on several Pokémon that by all means should have it (granted, most Flying types are physical anyway).

Roost on the other hand seems a lot more viable. I was going to say that Sky Shaymin doesn't have feathers so Roost wouldn't make sense, but that doesn't seem to be a restriction for Roost (except of course when talking about Gyarados and Rayquaza).

Well, they could give Shaymin Aeroblast, which could be a really good Flying attack, and with Seed Fare power, it will be really strong. About 4x weakness, people used to say that Heatran was really bad because of its 4x ground weakness, and now it's in the top10... It will make Shaymin be really used, and if they keep some defensive capabilities, it will be able to counter Garchomp.

Anyway, we need to know its stats and its new movepool to talk about it.

Aeroblast would be cool, so as Roost, and hopefully a bigger movepool (other than Grass/Flying/Psychic attacks).

First post:
Several new pokemon 'forms' exist in the game: Giratina's 'Origin Form', Regigigas' 'Sky Form', Shaymin's 'Another Form'
I AM paying attention.
Then it was not your fault. It was, in fact, the fault of the Nimrod who mislead you.

FYI, if you had actually payed attention to the official movie website, they had Giratina's formes named weeks before we ever even heard about another Shaymin. Even if you can't read Japanese, it was posted here in the Giratina thread.

So, no, I suppose you weren't. Don't propagate false information.

Any updates from scans about skygigas yet?

There is no Sky-Regigigas. That's the same misinformation the user Phoenix Wright posted in the original post. Sky Forme only applies to Shaymin.

The castle means we're getting Battle Frontier again. Thank God.

And errm, Torn World what? It might mean Platinum will have better cutscenes, I hope... The one when Palkia/Dialga awakes was interesting, but not up to the DS's true potential.

Now, we just have to wait until next month for morei info about the Battle Frontier (and Regis).

It's a typo, it's Thorn World, which is something like the Underground probably

Ehh, so does that mean that Regigigas isn't getting any kind of new form, or just not the sky form?

That's funny, "Thorn World" is how I misread the name on Serebii in the first place.
I'm kind of bummed about it now though, that would have been a perfect egg hatch location for my Cacturne.

It might be where you catch Shaymin though, like Stark Mountain for Heatran. It looks like the player is teeny tiny in that screenshot like you get in Stark.

Could someone explain to me what is with the excitement over the Battle Frontier?

I never played Emerald, but from what I know it seems it is just about the Move Tutors. So is the Battle Frontier just for the competitive field or what?

Points for possible Move Tutor moves or TMs are fun to get. The AI also gets competitive, so it's a fun way to play harder tactics without having to go multiplayer.

This may not be something big, but I love the cover. Nintendo finally didn't use Sugimori's art and learned to play with Photoshop.

Agreed. The new cover was really well-done.

And anything new about release date? I see a "2008" near the cover, but I can't get what the kanjis are saying...

"Torn World" is probably where Giratina resides. IIRC, Serebii said that it was on top of Mt. Coronet, which is where Giratina is seen with Dialga and Palkia.

Maybe Giratina shows up to stop Cyrus (Or whatshisfaceevilguy) and then creates a hole to another dimension? That would - kinda - make sense.

it will probably be out by september in Japan but they havent said anything about te exact date.

I agree with the basic idea here. Torn World bares more than a passing resemblance to Giratina's dimension in the 11th movie trailer (http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=AodDb71vP5w). Supposedly, in the film, Giratina is unhappy because his world is disturbed by the fight between Dialga and Palkia in The Rise of Darkrai. Perhaps both Dialga and Palkia being summoned at the same time (which did not happen in D/P) has the same effect in the games?
