I'm stumped.

Here is my current team. Gyarados is sucking kind of hard. I need a good Gyarados, Mamoswine, and Infernape counter. I have two team slots to do it with. Here is my team so far:

Weavile lead (fake out weavile)
Jumpluff (hidden power bug, subseed)
Infernape. Disposable.
Gengar (sub punch)
Heatran (choice scarf)
Gyarados. Disposable.

I don't need the entire team rated. It works fine. I just lose when my gyarados comes across another Stone Edge and loses to it. I'm not sure how to patch up this weakness. Vaporeon over Gyarados would help, but I would miss the sweeping power.

@Nuppo: With Magnemite being easy to chain as it is, I don't suppose it matters too much. ;3

@Skiddle: Depends on what variation of Gyarados you're running. If Stone Edge is that much of a pain, I've heard that the bulky set is a good remedy.

Bulky Starmie and/or Mesprit over Infernape might also be considerations for countering the threats you've mentioned.

Why am I the result of a sonic doodle turned awry? ;_;

@Skiddle: If you want something that does what Gyarados does without the Rock weakness, you can try Feraligatr, i.e.the slightly inferior version of Gyarados. It can DD, Waterfall, (Crunch) and EQ just like Gyarados. It has Ice Punch instead of Ice Fang, but it can only learn Rock Slide and not Stone Edge. It also cannot Taunt. Overall slightly inferior stats to Gyarados except for Defense.

Question: I was battling using my Shedinja team on Suspect, and it was late game. All I had left was my Sheddy, and my opponent had a ScarfTran and a CMRaikou (which couldn't touch me). The Heatran had already wasted a lot of Overheat PP and it only had 1 Left. The Overheat hit, but my Focus Sash activated. The Tran could do nothing but Struggle, but it surprisingly hit my Sheddy. Weird. Can anyone solve my problem/question?

http://www.smogon.com/dp/abilities/wonder_guard

This Pokémon can only be damaged by super effective attacks and secondary damage. Secondary damage includes: hail, sandstorm, burn, poison, and Leech Seed. Furthermore, the attacks Beat Up, Bide, Doom Desire, Fire Fang, Future Sight, and Struggle will hit a Pokémon with Wonder Guard even though they may not specifically be super effective.

Be sure to check the site if you're wondering about an ability/item/move/pokemon/ect.

What are the Japanese characters for all natures? Sorry if this is a bit "difficult" >.< because I want to play an emulated version of Japanese Platinum.

Edit: 1337 post :D

K, so I'm working on breeding a Goldeen and I was wondering what the best Hidden Power type would be for it. I know it probably wont be used, but it would be a nice option.

@Skiddle

Since your team seems so offensively oriented, I'd recommend using a SpAtking Vaporeon. He should be able to scare away Gyarados with HP Electric and his SpAtk is nothing to sneeze at.

I expect more than somewhat.

Anyway, hopefully someone here can give me a quicker response, although It's kind of OOC.

Can someone give me a moveset for a Contest Adamant Haunter? And what's the best berry to use for making bread for this kind of Pokemon?

Banette@Leftovers/Expert Belt
Insomnia trait, Jolly nature

~Sucker Punch
~Shadow Claw

Thunder Wave? Will-o-Wisp? Imprision?

Adamant Haunter, eh? Going for the cool contest, nice.

Here are the following cool moves it learns:

Thunderpunch (Only through breeding though, not sure if you have it.)
Natural Gift
Dark Pulse
Payback
Double Team
Thunderbolt

That covers it. Short list, but it'll have to do.

As for a moveset, Dark Pulse and Thunderpunch both have the same effect, they add +2 Appeal Points to the 2 it normally nets if your pokemon goes first. I'd recommend using Double Team, as it gets 2 Appeal Points as well as protecting your pokemon from being startled once. Thunderbolt is good too, as it gives 4 Appeal points regularly, and Payback gives you 4 Appeal points instead of one if you appeal to a judge none of the other contestants have appealed to. Finally, Natural Gift gives 4 points instead of two if you go last in a turn.

So the set I'd go with is Dark Pulse/Thunder Punch, Double Team, Thunderbolt, and Payback.

Berries for making spicy poffins would include Leppa, Cheri, and Figy berries according to Bulbapedia, but since I haven't done Cool contests yet I can't be sure. Good luck!
