The only one of those that's similar to gonz is adaptability :S
Detached Limbs would be too broken, though if you nerfed it to a 50% damage drop, it'd be like heatproof, and not broken. Here are the Abilities that would fit the CaP design:
- Clear Body, not really useful
- Levitate, This desing really wants this and it would help it to switch in.
- Lightningrod, those claw could do this, but not useful
- Rock Head, Semi-useful for a Physical set.
- Sniper, could work
- Solid Rock, just NO
As Technician is to powerful for this CaP, and not many old abilities work well, this will get a new one, as it seems right now.
Here are the ones I did think off(Sorry if something has been posted already)
- Detached Limbs, Physical Fighting attacks wont affect this Pokemon
When I look at this CaP I always think that it's able to avoid hits, chops. Fighting attacks are hits, chops and kicks, the Physical ones. It gives him a Semi-Immunity to a type and works with the design.
- Cross hair X, Multiplies the power of moves by 1.3(1.2 sounds better and is not that overpowered) by targeting weak spots on Super Effective targets, Ignores the boosts of items other than the Berry boosts.
This idea comes from the drawing, where it uses his claws to attack by forming an "X". 1.3 gives it Life Orb boost with the conditions of Expert Belt, but it can't use any of those items. The Base Power of the 95 BP moves will be 123.5 and Power Gem will be 136.5 BP with STAB, but only on SE hits. How effective this ability depends on the prediction, predict right and you get in a really hard hit, predict wrong and... well if it does not outspeed you and you have a move which hits SE then you can use that, but no Pokemon can hit everything Super Effective. This ability won't let you use Choice items and anything other that boosts the power of moves. It could be 1.2 if 1.3 is to powerful, now that I think of it this should really be lowered to just give an ability Expert Belt.
- Sticky Claws, The Claws stick in the Pokemon that KOs it, harshly lowering their Attack or SpAttack depending on the type of the finishing attack.
Those claws want to get stuck in something! You see a Close Combat or a Surf coming that will KO, you make their life harder by sticking you claws in them before meeting your end. If the attacker has no +2 or more boosts in their attack they need to switch giving you a free turn to setup, this makes this CaP a really good death fodder, but this won't work if Burn, Poison or the entry hazards KO you.
Sticky Claws would ruin this pokemon's sweaping potential by making it a majior suicide lead or something like that. It will propably have explosion, because most rock types do, so; "explode, drop your stats, free SD / NP turn for whatever poke.
Actually, you CAN use Judgement from Metronome.Judgment is an Arceus exclusive move. I'm not sure if Metronome can select it, but if not you can't get it legally in-game, until Nintendo releases Arceus. Therefore it doesn't exist yet iirc.
Crosshair X is... like a Life Orb without the damage every turn? It sounds good but, the reason Life Orb is so popular is because it's balanced, you get more power, for less and less health.
Nice ability idea, but the whole "it's not stackable with any other items " thing seem pretty weird and too much work to implement. It would be better off if it just allow Life Orb, Expert Belt, and Choice Items effect to work along with it. It's probably even more easier if you just let the ability have a perma-life orb boost instead.- Cross hair X, Multiplies the power of moves by 1.3(1.2 sounds better and is not that overpowered) by targeting weak spots on Super Effective targets, Ignores the boosts of items other than the Berry boosts.
Technician is giving him a wide range of offensive options and more importantly allowing him to competitively use a move whose side effect is nothing short of amazing. I don't like the idea of making a move whose side effect is horribly "haxy" somethings primary move, something which has great stats to begin with. And getting that hidden power boost makes a very nice difference, giving it tons of versatility. It doesn't seem like a very precise pokemon anyways, it looks reckless. I think we can give him enough versatility without technician
This needs to win. Also, what about a rock version of Motor Drive. It could increase Defense/Sp.Defense.
This needs to win.
Rock capture: When this pokemon is attacked by a rock attack, it takes no damage and is not affected by any secondary effects, and the pokemon's speed/def/spdef is also raised by x1.5.
in game explaination: When this pokemon is attacked by rocks, it captures them with it's *generic powers* and *generic reason why it is boosted*
