Altaria
Careful:252 HP / 200 Def / 56 SpD
@ Leftovers or Life Orb
Outrage/Roost/Dragon Dance/ Heal Bell
Could this work?

It seems to me like you're trying to combine two sets into one; either make altaria a bulky dragon dancer, or a supporting heal beller, but if you try to do both with one set, it won't do either as well. Obviously, I have never tested this set (and I don't know uu that well actually), but this is just my impression. Unless heal bell is there just for taking out confusion, in which case I'm not sure what to think...probably worth it to switch to another move to hit steelix.

And probably leftovers, it will make up for itself with the extra dragon dance you get/2hkos that turn into 3hkos that you can roost/dance on then.

What's this "box trick" I hear people referring to for EVing the event Dragonite?

The box trick is simply storing a Pokémon in the PC and taking it back out again to gain the benefits of recently gained EVs without leveling up. It works because when a Pokémon is boxed the game remembers a minimum amount of information about it. The software records that the Pokémon has EVs but not that the EVs haven't been applied to its stats yet. The result is updated stats!

Sometimes players are confused as to whether the box trick works because it cannot be used on level 100 Pokémon where it would be most useful. The problem with level 100 Pokémon is that they don't gain EVs. The box trick itself works very well.

I don't know if this is a stupid question, but, why is Scyther UU but Magneton / Magmar / Electabuzz / Shelgon ,etc. NFE?

About to go through FRLG to get a Zapdos, and I'm curious as to when is the earliest I'll be able to transfer so...

1) When is the earliest I can PalPark a Poke? Do I need to have beaten the Elite 4 or got the National Dex?

2) When is the earliest I can trade to Colloseum/XD?

Thanks.

You can Pal Park at any time throughout the game. Colloseum, you can trade when you beat the GC game, IIRC. All Advance games are cool like that.

Sorry, I only have a stupid answer. Scyther is "unique enough" to be allowed, which is completely subjective and arbitrary. When New UU comes along around January, all Pokémon not in OU or Ubers, including NFEs, will initially be allowed.

I can't recall the name of the town, but if you go to the route just left of the one with Electric Gym+Lighthouse+seal market there's a stretch of beach. Iirc the second fisherman from the left has two Gyarados which give very good Exp and Rotom will tear them to shreds, outspeeding, 1HKOing, and with only 1/4 moves actually dealing damage. If it's not the second on the left then try a different one on the left side.

Sunyshore.

Wow thx for the hint
yeh its the fisherman on the furthest left
he has 2 gyarados and they so weak
rotom 2HKO with shockwave and all they ever do is rain dance or dragon dance
like everytime i vs him i gain a lvl lol

I have a question:

If a pokemon uses Rain Dance and they have Damp Rock equipped and they switch out, does the rain still last the amount that Damp Rock increases it to or not?

Are there any specific rules on what not to post in the Analysis Workshop? Can you just post one new set for a pokemon and give a description of it? I'm asking this because there aren't really any posted rules on that section except for the posted rules for the whole website.

How effective is an Adamant Kabutops in the UU Metagame? Theres alot of fighting types there making me question if he can be used without be destroyed by Close Combat.

He's pretty successful if you put him in a Rain Dance team, he's pretty unstoppable with Swift Swim active and his powerful STAB moves in Waterfall and also Aqua Jet.

Altaria
Careful:252 HP / 200 Def / 56 SpD
@ Leftovers or Life Orb
Outrage/Roost/Dragon Dance/ Heal Bell
Could this work?

I run an Altaria similar to this, but with 252Hp/252 SpD and Earthquake over Heal Bell. I think that Altaria won't be able to Heal Bell if it Dragon Dances, especially if it is locked into Outrage. Well, obviously I haven't tested it, it could work. I don't think it can, but by all means, try it out. I doubt it could do much to Steelix without Earthquake either. It would keep your opponent guessing though, because they'd think you were running a support set, but then you would set up and sweep them.

If the stat has over 100 EVs, then the first berry will reduce it to 100 EVs. After that, each berry lowers the stat by 10 EVs.

So basicly, if you don't know the EV's of a pokemon you got, giving it 11 berries in a single stat will always clear it to 0?

How is compatibility between games of different languages? I'm tempted to import Platinum, but I'm worried about if it'll be able to battle, trade, etc. with English versions so I'm asking here first.

yes its possible I've done it before using my platinum(japanese rom) battling with a person who had diamond

I've always thought that the IVs of the pokemon in Battle Tower were random, but then I recall reading also that after #49, all the pokemon have perfect IVs. Which one is actually true? And if it's the latter, how was such fact known (i.e. what tests were done to prove that)?
