Cragnenode

Mine seems to fit the bill of 10 letters and seems interesting enough but, I don't know what other people will think of it?

I think this came up somewhere before (heard about it on the chat), but I support Rebble.

Rubble (which the thing looks like it's made up of), and it rhymes with pebble. But I think its real merit is in how the name actually kind of captures the concept of the Pokemon as well. Rebble, sounds like Rebel. What is CAP 5? A Pokemon built to go against the stereotypes of Rock Pokemon. To rebel against something is to defy a generally accepted convention (or one of its definitions, anyhow).

I prefer Rebl but neither are brilliant.

Stratagem is clever but doesn't sound like a Pokemon IMO.

Meteorion is too spacey - woulda fit DJD's planet perfectly but not Rockmon who hasn't been given any astral flavour from its movepool.

How about Mercurore?

Comes from Mercury, a silvery toxic metal + ore, rock from which valuable substances can be extracted.

Edit: Bolderdash is cheesy but fun :-)

I like it it fits Rockmon Physical description.

Wow petty arguement in a name thread. In reality, while speedwobbles posted it in the thread first, kazio has had that name on the server for about a month or so. Credit would go to both of you. (Personally I love Stratagem)

Erosickle

Ero
refers to Erosion and the pebbles of Rockmon.

Sickle refers to the grim reaper-scythe like limbs it has, in which I see a great resemblance.

Gragnatus-Granite+Magnetic+It's mantis like appearence.

I chose granite to be fitted in there because the pokemon does look to have a lot of granite on it.

Magnetic because it could be the way the rocks flow together and keeping then afloat.

Mantis because of the sythes and a little buggy esque appearence.

Or if my granite theory is wrong,

Magnatus-Mineral+Magnetic+Mantis

Meteorion? This pokemon isn't a meteor, comet, or asteroid at all. That would fit more with DJD's submission.

Stratagem? I don't see how that fit's this pokemon either. Strata reminds me of stratosphere which is a part of the earth's atmosphere, air.

Strata= layed. Ever heard of Stratigraphy? That discipline that provides you with oil and gas, sir? Wikipedia it and you'll understand, I'm fairly sure.

Edit: Incase I was somewhat unclear, stratigraphy is like THE discipline that soft rock geologists (rock scientists) use to find oil and gas. Paleontologists use it to :D

going for Stratagem.

I think the -rion suffix makes it sound a bit forced. Stratagem is nice, but I don't see Nasty Plots being thrown all over. Also the gems aren't that huge a part. And also they're arent layers on Rockmon.
However they are all very well thought out.

^^ Exactly how I felt, I don't think the gems are important enough for this pokemon to be named after. It's not like it's part psychic or anything.

Liar, this is how you felt^.

What is with the connection of gem and psychic? Once again your logic is escaping me somewhat. Also I think the nasty plot connection really is a side effect rather something that was focused on. Besides, you can make a strategem using a pokemon that doesn't have nasty plot.

I love Bolderdash/Boulderdash, but could that be the replacement name for "Ancient Beam" or does it sound too physical?

Agilicient

Agility to represent it's speed, and ancient because it looks ancient.

Merquick

A rock from Mercury + it's quickness.
