Can't you guys get back to basics? Forget your fallacy of "I want someone different". Tough shit, you got 2 choices, Blue or Red. Don't say anything otherwise.

Red fucked you and all of us in the rest of the world for the past 7 years. They have (some) of the same people still on that side. Thanks to them, the world is in the worst recession right now.

Granted, at some point, we would hit a recession anyways, but do you earnestly think all of us (and by all, I mean the World, like half of the Americans will know what "the rest of the world" means anyways...) are that heap deep in shit right now IF 59,054,087 of Americans aren't so dumb?

Blue is the lesser fuck up, at least last time they were in charge, they put some money in the piggy bank.

This is how things will run tomorrow.

BTW, where did tax breaks got the US to last, I mean, THIS time? Not so good. Tax breaks are nothing but stupid gimmicks by the Red because they want you idiots the believe Blue is going to take your shit and smoke weed.

I voted today!

After waiting in line for approximately 45 minutes, it came down to the question "Who do I really want to become President of the United States?" and that happened to be......

Barack Obama

As for the rest, I split my vote by re-electing congressman Christopher Shays(R) and my State Senator among them.

I did not like the idea of electing a political novice for congress whom will only be a "Yes" man for Obama and could cause disasterous consequences for my district but I'm afraid that may very well happen.

Really? You sure? Because I've just gotten home from voting for Bob Barr.

so how have the lines been for you guys? I got there at like 8:30, left at 9:45. The line was crazy long, this older guy i talked too said this is the largest turnout he's ever seen and his first vote was kennedy in 1960.

Same as not voting, truthfully.

That's what you've been led to believe; sadly, politics as usual. Maybe if more people were braver with their vote and stopped following the shepherds over the cliff we could effect some real change in this country.

Loki, I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. I have no idea why that is, all my friends in Massachusetts were talking about lines wrapping around corners, and all the news stories speak of the same. We're definitely breaking voter turnout records today, I think it speaks to how much this country wants something new.

Problem is, though, you're just one person. And the reality of the matter is that either Obama or McCain is going to win, so the "smart" thing to do is to vote for whichever of them you hate a little less. I don't disagree with you that it's a flawed way of doing things, but it is what it is.

What I dislike even more, though, is the whole system of the electoral college. Living in CA, if I don't vote for Obama, I may as well not vote at all. We are the only country in the world still using such an archaic system.

I voted by mail, so no lines or anything to speak of. Just 42 cents for a stamp. I don't know if all states allow this, and I certainly don't know why more people who live in places that do don't take advantage of it.

I'm pretty pissed, there's an hour wait atm and I'm on a college campus, where it's just students. I'm hoping around 6 or 7 there'll be less people...

And Syberia I don't think that's totally true, even considering the fact that only barack and john have a chance of winning, you are sort of stealing a vote from one of them. But that's the same mindset of people who don't want to vote because they think their vote is pointless. But you have to see the general argument to realize how not true that is. That person who thinks that is siding with about what, 46% of America, and when you see it as a side that 46% of America is on, you realize how stupid that is. As they say, there's strength in numbers...

No, the smart thing to do is to vote for who I really want to be president, not to settle. If we don't stand up for what we believe is right, we have no right to complain. Choosing the lesser of two evils is the most cowardly way to vote, you're doing yourself and your country a disservice.

I couldn't agree more. We need to install instant runoff voting in this country, the electoral college is a joke.

There are always absentee ballots.

i think a vote for obama is for change and the fact that the campaign has used that "slogan" and that "theatric" is still more noble than a party that chooses a woman who thinks the potential life of an unborn child is more important than her own daughters because she refuses to question a book.

i think voting for obama is the most effecient way to get change. if obama doesnt bring it? impeach him.

Well, I waited a full 2 hours to vote, it was rough, but at least they served me pizza lol. Well I'm really glad I got to vote and can't wait for the results, I just hope everything works for the best, God bless America

Okay what the fuck...I'm looking at Google News for what states are going where, and they're calling shit like South Carolina when only 3% of precincts have reported.
