Flight of the Conchords - Leggy Blonde

8.5/10

Most of their songs are comedic gold, but looking past that they are still great to listen to just as awesome songs. Leggy blonde is definitely one of the best, and one of my favorites.

Heh, Robots is my personal favorite from them.

Zihuatanejo by Fightstar

Trying some new alternative rock/post-hardcore again and so far these guys haven't struck me as that good. Quite basic even though I enjoy the vocals. This song is from their newest album and I have to say that their older music is a lot better.

6/10

Sonata Arctica
Winterhearts' Guild
Broken

Sonata is an old favourite and something I can always rely on to provide me with good tunes. The lyrics are wacky, but whatever. I was raised from a broken seed, grew up to be an unwanted weed...

9/10

Jeff Buckley
Grace
Hallelujah

A brilliant cover of the Leonard Cohen song. I really love how he sings it.

And love is not a victory march...

I Love You But I've Chosen Darkness - Lights

9.5/10

Another song in my category of songs that help me relax, and put my mind on paper.

Achilles Lung by Million Dead

One of the best post-hardcore bands that have existed. Too bad they broke up and it doesn't seem like they'd be getting together again, for a while at least. Achilles Lung is a song from their newest album Harmony No Harmony and the sound is a lot clearer than in their older production. Yet, the song doesn't turn too poppy and maintains a good grip on their style. If you want to try this band out, start with this song.

9/10

Lazarus by Porcupine Tree

One of the only songs that I could imagine myself crying to. Such a beautiful piece by such a versatile band. I don't know if it's the lyrics or the music but seems like everything is working well with this song. Wilson's voice is just so fragile and it really does wonders here. After all, his voice isn't the most powerful you could look for and I like it when he realizes it himself and uses it. If the whole Deadwing album was as good as Lazarus, I'd probably like it more than In Absentia.

10/10

Fall Out Boy - Yule Shoot Your Eye Out

Bit early for Christmas songs, but I started listening to the good Fall Out Boy albums and other songs.

"The gifts you're receiving from me will be; one awkward silence; two hopes you cry yourself to sleep staying up waiting by the phone. All I want this year is for you to dedicate your last breath to me, before you bury yourself alive. Don't come home for Christmas, you're the last thing I want to see underneath the tree. Merry Christmas, I could care less."

Pink Floyd - Echoes
This is really just a fantastic song, it starts off kind of cryptic, climbing to a climax then drops to a sort of smooth funky part, fades into faint eerie voices, slowly climbs out of that to another high point, changes into something similar to the beginning, and closes with the eerie voices with the main melody softly playing. The lyrics, present in the beginning and end, pretty fitting and poetic. All in a short 23 minutes. 10/10 really, and probably my favorite Floyd song. Wish I was better at describing music though
EDIT: Funny little fact, Roger Waters accused Andrew Lloyd Webber of stealing the daaa-da-da-da-da-da part of the song and used it in The Phantom of the Opera (if you listen to the song of the same name as the musical and this, you'll recognize it), but didn't sue
Guns N' Roses - Estranged
Coincidence? I think not.
In reference to your avatar: I'm pretty sure China will be a democracy by the time they release that album, which tbh I'm sadly not looking much forward to anyways, after all is it really GNR anymore?
