I think the update it's only for the japanese version of Pokemon Ranch because it gives them compatibility with Platinum. It will be some time until US gets Platinum so I guess the update won't be made until then.

If you don't want to release any of them then don't do it, just don't get new ones =/ that or get a new Pokemon cartridge.

The move does not fail, you still get to copy the other opponment's attack depending if you stay alive long enough to use the move. But it pretty much depend's who you use.

What would happen if a pokemon uses Me First but is slower than the opponent? Does the move fail?

No, only D/P legends can be synchronized (except for runners). Synchronize only works in Emerald for wild pokemon.

Actually, this is incorrect. When an opposing pokemon is switching and you use Pursuit, Pursuit's base power becomes 80, and so will not receive the Technician boost.

So if they stay in, it has 60 [40 x 1.5] BP.
If they switch, it has 80 BP.
