I want a guy who can spin and maybe recover is there anyone like that?

Well there is Restalk Blastoise/whatever.....

Specs Sceptile is faced with the same problem as Shaymin, but it doesnt have the bulk/movepool to get around it. Its Walled by Registeel, Focus Blast does minor damage still.

Specs Sceptile should be used more like a Revenge Killer, not a sweeper like Shaymin. And Focus Blast of course 2HKO Registeel.

The only one i can see walling it all day is Crobat and various ones depending of the Hidden Power it gets(walled by Moltres or Charizard if it doesn't get HP Rock, walled by any Grass/Poison it it's not HP Fire.Everything else should take a painful Leaf Storm).

Unlike almost everyone of the UU revenge killers need Scarf for the speed, but Sceptile gets enough to dispatch even the most annoying ones

Is there anyone using Sceptile?Man,this thing is a great(among the best for me)revenge killer which gets great speed and power(fact is,a Specs Leaf Storm is powerful even without Overgrow activating, and the speed is great).

Before,it was BL,doomed by the OU nice typings and all,but now he gets a chance in UU,and it's doing great for me

yea, i've been using CB sceptile. i think its working pretty well, taking out shymin with x-scissor, crobat with t-punch, and raikou with earthquake. my ev spread makes max attack, and just enough speed to outrun max speed base 115's, allowing me to put a the rest into hp, causing it to survive longer. still always dies against brave bird crobat if it doesn't strike first tho, but theres really not that much you can do against that.

I don't think so. I put my team together a few weeks earlier and haven't changed it too much. Those four threats (well, the three offensive threats) can usually be played around, and hail I find easy to beat. Not one did I specifically prepare for. (Though I DID indeed have Clefable since the beginning.)

The threats I have problems with are stuff like Crobat, Scarf Typhlosion, Scarf Gallade, Scarf Absol...most scarfers. I hate facing scarfers. I suppose that includes Scarf Staraptor, though he is rare. Rain Dance teams are hard to beat. CB Azumarill. These are the things I've attempted to prepare for through team tweaks in the past few weeks (not always successfully).

Edit: This was in response to a post that's not there anymore.

Random Scarfers are really annoying. You never know what it is really when they first show up and then bam. You lose a pokemon. Particularly when you are playing against a stranger, and can't tell whether he is just retarded bringing in an Arcanine when your Shaymin used Earth Power before, or whether it is scarfed. Because I've seen both; a dumb Arcanine switch in getting his ass whupped, or my Shaymin getting wrecked by a CS Overheat.

I guess I should just play it safe next time and switch to Slowbro or something.

Yea, I deleted my post because it seemed to look awkward. If anyone is curious to know what it was. It was similar to....

Does Raikou, Shaymin, Staraptor, and Abomasnow significantly impact your team construction.

So.. I've lately learned that Probopass FAILS oh so hard at trapping Registeel. You 5HKO him while he 2HKO (Earthquake) or 4HKO's (S-Toss) you. And it is beyond annoying. So.. I'm testing potential Trappers for Registeel and Steelix.

Damage Calcs from 252+ Natured attacker Vs. 252/252+ Defender (Registeel, Steelix)

Magneton (Life Orb)- Regi- 31.59% - 37.09%
Lix- 55.65% - 65.54%
ProboFails (Life Orb)- Regi- 29.95% - 35.16%
Lix- 52.54% - 61.86%

Trapinch (Choice Band) - Registeel- 67.58% - 79.40%
Steelix- 55.65% - 65.54%

Diglet (Choice Band) - Registeel- 47.53% - 56.04%
Steelix- 39.27% - 46.33%

I'm so frustrated with this... I'm going to attempt these and see how they fair

Tangrowth - Block - xxx - xxx -xxx
Slowbro - Block - Calm Mind - Surf - Rest/ Slack Off
Slowking- " "
Duskclops- Mean Look - Curse - Pain Split - Rest
Saybleye- Mean Look - Willow Wisp - Taunt/ Recover - S-Toss
Solrock- Fire Spin - Will O Wisp - Stone Edge - Earthquake
Whiscash - Whirlpool - EQ - Waterfall - Stone Edge/ Rest

Yup, I am that hell bent on keeping Regi and Lix out of commission. If you test one let me know how it works ^^.

Arcanine cant switch into any of them Easily. Blaziken OHKOs with Super Power or Earthquake. Charizard OHKOs with Earthquake.

Typhlosion hits it hard with HP ground or Earthquake, but is generally safe so thats the only time.

So yes, that works for Typhlosion. But the other ones are definately not Easy to switch out of. You can Add magmortar into the mix as well.

Trapinch (Choice Band) - Registeel- 67.58% - 79.40%
Steelix- 55.65% - 65.54%

Trapinch actually works, when you realise no Steelix ever runs 252 Def EVs. I use a Life Orb Trapinch, who deals 55.31% - 65.06% to 252/0 Impish Steelix. Steelix also won't ever OHKO you with Earthquake; neither will 0 Atk Registeel with Ice Punch (barring crits).

Here's a secret: 12 Speed EVs outspeeds min speed Steelix. Don't spread that around.

you could also try Trap-passing with Umbreon.

Mean Look/Yawn /Fake Tears/Baton Pass and BP to Arcanine, or you could use Curse/Tickle over Fake Tears and pass to Camerupt.

Sorry to digress from the current discussion, but something weird just happened in my last battle that I have to get off my chest.

I was battling this guy who was using a Rain Dance team. He had a Ludicolo out (max 262 speed) while raining and just killed one of my Pokemon. I then bring out a Trace Gardevoir with 200 speed EVs + Timid nature (270 speed), and prepared a Signal Beam, only to get outrun and killed by Waterfall. AFAIK this should not have happened.

Am I missing something here, or is this a known Shoddy bug?

I'm not sure exactly how known it is, because I've been having trouble accessing the tracker for a few weeks now, but Antique Roadshow definitely mentioned it to me a couple times over the last few days. I'm not really surprised by it at all, as Trace has always had some issues with various abilities (Sand Veil wasn't working correctly for the longest time).

For Registeel, I was using Perishtrap Mismagius early in the UU test. Registeel is commonly a first switch-in to CM Mismagius, so you mean look on the switch and get down to work.

@ Lemmiwinks

That looks like a Shoddy bug to me too. :-/

Wynaut is a frail, not so great Pokemon. There really is nothing for it to do, except for this unoriginal set:

Wynaut@ Focus Sash
EVs: 225 HP/125 Def/160 Sp.Def
Counter
Mirror Coat
Encore
Safeguard

Use Counter and Mirror Coat to do some damage. If you predict a switch, just Safeguard. If you think they will use a Stat-Up move, use Encore and try Safeguard before switching out. There really is nothing else, except you might want to change the EVs up a little.

Other Options:
Charm
Destiny Bond
Splash

Charm is good if you have a Female Wynaut, as almost everything else is Male, but it's too frail. I really like Destiny Bond, but Wynaut's low Speed makes it a poor option. Last but not least, Splash does absolutely nothing.

Opinion

Wynaut is good, but not great. It can battle in UU, but the low HP means that its not always an OHKO with Counter or Mirror Coat. I say that it can be used sometimes, but most times it isn't that great.

Counters:
A Special Dark Type or a Physical Ghost type will always work., and the Focus Sash won't work. High HP Pokemon such as Snorlax if you dare to use this thing in OU will laugh at Counter and Mirror Coast. Wynaut isn't very good, but be aware that it might sneak up and get you.

Considering that it's currently banned from all tiers except uber, at this point it doesn't really matter.

And you forgot Tickle. That's a real kicker. He's not supposed to be eating hits from sweepers, especially in the OU environment. He comes in on a slower wall, preferably which just used a support move. He Encores said support move. He then Tickles until they have -6/-6 Defenses. Bring in something with Pursuit, say goodbye to your wall. And there is nothing you can do to stop this. He is banned for the same reasons as Wobbuffet, and I really don't see that changing.

Be sure to set up at least one entry hazard before using that, as it's going to force a lot of switches. It also generally doesn't work too well at trapping (already tried it, and most teams have at least one strong Fighting-type), so it's going to take a lot of damage with no chance of healing in the process. If you don't predict the Gallade switch-in perfectly, you'd better have something to deal with it at +2 attack. I guess you could Yawn and then Baton Pass to counter the switch, but if it stays in and Close Combats, you've lost your Umbreon without accomplishing what it wants to.

wynaut has Tickle on Shoddy. It was an event... somewhere.
