Really cool sprite!

The only thing i could say against it is the "spikey things" on the tail and the paws. Those are very exagerated and too much of them. And the sprite looks kinda thin, like, the legs are veeery thin, while i imagine them a little bit fater, IMO.

Anyways awesome job!

(Sorry for my vocabulary/spelling, i dont know too many words xD)
Thanks. The legs are actually the EXACT same size in proportion, because i used elegy's picture. The tail spikes are definitely exaggerated, I agree, so I will tone it down a lot. The feet "spikes" look ok to me for now, but i will prolly make them less exaggerated if it come downs to it.

These are by far my favorites. The pose is just wonderful; I love the way they look as if they're running around taunting "Catch me if you can!" to enemy pokemon trying to attack them. The shiny color is just perfect in my opinion and the lighter coloring of the normal sprite compared to most of the others is good characterization as well, since with the lighter color they look more playful and frolicsome as opposed to sinister with a darker color.

I'd suggest heightening the male/female differences by changing the fur color of the female slightly as well as make the expression different on its main mask just like on its side masks. The horns/protruding objects on its mask can be another source of gender differences.

My front sprite set. I originally started off with a more dynamic leaping pose however since that particular kind of pose is fairly popular and I didn't get good results I scrapped it and used this more playful pose. I didn't want to use all of the 80x80 space since I envisioned this critter to be fairly small and fluffed him up a bit. I like the idea of using the masks to distinguish between the male/female sprites and there's no particular reason for the shiny colour (well apart from cyber suggesting it).

Well accepting criticism, comments and i'll wish everybody else entering good luck. I'll post again when i've done the backsprites and i'll incorporate any changes requested if possible before then.

Wow! As expected, you knocked this out of the park. Easily the best tail rendering yet, and your shiny coloring is likely to inspire imitators. I like that your pose incorporates the little-used "looking back to the left" motif -- it really stands out for this design. Bravo Wyverii! I have come to expect nothing less from the resident Queen of CAP Sprites.

Possibly my favorite thus far!
This is the one giving Wyveril a run for the money in my mind. Plus I can't help but make this comment(it is most definitely a joke). Are you implying that women talk too much and should shut their mouths sometimes?

If we want to go for a cutesy scout(why not?) this definately gets my vote. I just want to cuddle it! I should probably shut my mouth now, yes?

I may not like it as much as Wyveril's, but this thing is a very nice one in my opinion.

Solid all around. It is what I expected to see from this more or less.

I have to give Headpunch kudos for abusing artistic license in such a positive way! Not my favorite, but it is fine looking indeed.

I had decided I would try and sprite this, but every pose I come up with ends up looking way too much like this:

...stupid quadrupeds.

I'll give it a shot if I can get a good pose going, but there's some tough competition...

Yeah, I guess I'll work a little bit on mine but it doesn't look like I'll be able to do any damage against all the major CAP players here. Meh, one of my first sprites, I'm glad it's not too horrible.

And Wyv, that shiny color is awesome! I wonder who picked it? They must be amazing with colors! *coughcoughlol*

Hey, any general timeframe to know how much I have left? It seems I've gotten older in CaP years and as such, my old bones find it hard to sprte as fast as these young whippersnappers.

KoA is now the official grandpa of the CaP sprite polls.

Okay, fixed the legs ala Cartoons! suggestion. Studied some actual photos of foxes to get the legs to look more realistic, especially that last leg on the left, I totally redid that one. Swapped the front right leg with the front left one so it's in a more natural stepping pose. Beefed up the chest a bit, the original was too wimpy in the pecs dept.

I really need help with my shading, this thing looks like a R/S/E sprite ATM. Anybody got any pointers? Edit: Just learned that all pokemon sprites are supposed to be shaded from the top-left, and mine is shaded from the right-rear. Oh well, the current shading was crap anyway.

Colored it in. Male on the left. Female on the right. Shinies will come tomorrow.

I'm loving what you're doing here. I think what's giving you the most grief though is that back right leg (one in the very back).

It take away from the the line of the stomach and the left hind leg because of how well 'tucked in' it is. I think if you lowered it a bit so that we got a small glimpse of the upper thigh and maybe the knee joint it would help differentiate it form the body.

At the moment it looks a bit as though Scoutmon has a 'pot belly' and distracts from hoe truly sleek this design is, lol. Not much criticism otherwise.

Haha! This old codger still has some talent left in his old bones! I finally found inspiration, drew a sweet pose, and will work on it furiously tomorrow.

I love life and raindrops now. :)

For once, I honestly will leave you guys in he dark until I unveil the prototype.

Darker colour, red pupils etc, still needs some work. I'll see if I can come up with a better pose, but I'm happy with this one too if I can't.

OK, now I'm torn between so many that, when it comes to voting, I'm probably not going to vote on this, unless someone suddenly comes along with one sprite to own them all.

First one to get back sprites in woo!

My backs tend to get mixed responses whenever I post them. Eh I hope this set's good enough. The back isn't an exact mirror of the front but it's still a look over the shoulder type that's pretty common in Pokemon quadruped back sprites. I may tweak it later on but this is probably going to be very close to my final submission.

Thankies to cyber for the shiny colour. We've got a winner. ;p

And of course Wyv's sprites blow me away.

I love the shading on the backsprites. I'm always a fan of coloring things like in the pokemon sprites themselves, but for some reason I never mind when you do advanced coloring techniques....

Amazing ^_^

I really like Wyverii's, but I really think that it needs to be a bit darker in order to be a Ghost! Is there any way to show the "abyss" effect from the art submission into the sprite itself?

Most of us tried that and it ended up being too dark and not looking like a 4th gen sprite. Even sprites like Umbreon aren't that dark in D/P, darker sprites are a trademark of R/B and G/S. However I do think Wyverii's could be just a bit darker.

I did a bit of fiddling, gave the tail and back a bit more texture, and sorted out the shiny form and gender differences. Any comments?

Cartoons! and Aragornbirds

Taken further steps to solidify the body.

My favorite thus far, but I still have a few suggestions. I wish there was more subtle contrast in the coloring of the fur (I actually liked the original darker color best), and that it'd attempt to lessen the outline as it takes away from its ghost-like quality. The pose is the best: gives a sense of lightness to the pokemon that works with a jester feel I get from it.

Great pose, coloring is too light though. This one does the 'whispyness' of its fur the best, so many others come of looking like jagged static charged needles.

Tail is a little awkward (in length not style), as is its neck, but the pose/color is great.

Coloring is way too light, and the style of pose (kneeling, super curved tail) makes me think of a puppy/growlithe more than a fox. I love its looking over the shoulder, really adds to its jester like feeling. If this was enlarged a bit, darkened, and the tail made less curved it would give Cartoons! a run for his money. Also, I'm not a fan of the gold shiny; just seems random/awkward.
