When Ditto/Mew transforms into a wild [legendary], what stats can be checked? What about HP? Thanks in advance :)

And if a second question is not a problem, I was wondering how trainer card stars have changed in Platinum. Thanks again.

Definitely use Inner Focus, so that you can attack after Ambipom or another Fake Out user hits.
 
Just to confirm, is this how you "lock into" a pokemon so you can soft reset for IVs?

1. Save before taking egg
2. Hatch egg and check for nature/ability
3. Reset if it's good, if not save before taking another and repeat.

Do you mean the Rotom Key event? I don't know. There was a pamphlet in my Platinum's box that had a URL for a website with information about the "availablity."
 
Sorry if this has been asked before, but do Pokemon gain EVs when the opposing Pokemon is caught?

For example, if I'm EV training Chimchar in speed against a Starly, and I capture the Starly, does Chimchar still get a speed EV?

My understanding is that if you don't get the EXP, you don't get the EV. So if you catch a pokemon, you don't get the EXP. Therefore, your answer is no.

Yeah; don't have US Platinum myself, but I'm pretty sure the event isn't up yet.

Not sure why this is so surprising though... IIRC, even the first Japanese Wi-Fi Secret Key event didn't start until like at least a few weeks after the game was released...

Wow, well, so much for going through the game with the toaster... I already got Rotom too after I had cut haha.

Alright thank you. I had a feeling that it was no and you helped clear it up. Finally, should EVs really matter when playing in-game and not competitive/online?
 
I have some questions regarding the DPP differences.

I'm just coming back a bit into the game, I plan on battling maybe a few times to week, regain my old status I had on marriland haha. Anyway, some things I don't really get. As a lot of players, I don't intend on buying Platinum, I don't wanna spend money on that when I have Pearl really. Can I still have a Bullet Punch Scizor? Outrage Salamence, etc? (I use Pokesav for legal game stats). People are already using that on D/P, so I guess the answer is yes.

But, that would allow me to use DD Mence + Gengar with 70% acc hypnosis in the same team. Hmm. I dunnno if that's acceptable, but I believe that's where it's at right now.

Final question, can I hack a D/P rotom to have the exact same legal stats as the other Rotom Forms? I really wanna use Rotom in my new team I'm thinking of, but hacking Rotom seems not to be accepted by the community, rather strange if you ask me.

In short, can someone hit me up about what you can and can't do with D/P cartridge in a DPP metagame. Thanks.

Nah, when just playing in-game, the EVs don't really matter, except if you're going to take on the Battle Tower or something.

That's what would happen if you traded Platinum pokémon back to DP.

No, it's not in the code to have the special attacks; that would be illegit.

Not a lot has changed if you can hack whatever moves are needed.
 
Can anyone link the breeding guide by Peterko/X-Act, the one written in 4 parts. Also, anyone know any good site (HP calculation/IV) or info that I should be aware of while I breed for IV's?
 
Ohh it's not stickied anymore? lol been searching through all the stickies >_>. Do you know any sites for HP calculation? Metal Kidd or someone had it iirc..but can't find it.

You can battle betwe en DP <-> Platinum, correct?
So if that's the case, how will the accuracy of the Hypnosis work (70% in DP, but 60% in Platinum)?
