Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Yeah. I misread it as the summary page wasn't showing it as shiny. So, I was wondering if depositing made the summary page better. Sorry 'bout that.

Also, as mentioned, I encountered the original instance, and wanted to see if it was an early-game thing, or persisted post-E4. I also wanted to know if how it was traded affected it. I now know both. Interesting results.

I'm don't understand a lot of this but I want to ask this. Is it possible to breed for Shinies even without downloading the programs. I know you can breed shinies (=P) but could it be easier like this?

Yes, it is possible to breed for shinies without downloading the programs.

Why isn't it shiny once it hatches? Shinies that are hatched from eggs are shiny when first coming out of the egg. Whats the prob?

Okay, its still fully legit right? Im sorry but I only want real shinies and it just seemed sort of weird for them not to be shiny when hatching. But its a glitch so whatever. Im gonna hurry up and beat my Platinum so I can try this.

Ofcourse they're legit, it's because one game reads it as an egg from international parents, while the other game doesn't.

Good luck with your targets ^^

International parents shouldn't affect it, as they only affect the egg when it's generated, not hatched. I guess it's because the egg is given the breeder's ID, and only changed to the hatcher's after hatching. Therefore, when the egg is hatching, it still has the original ID, so appears non-shiny. However, after hatching, it's given the hatcher's ID, so appears shiny.

Someone confirm on Pokésav whether eggs have trainer IDs; that would confirm my theory.

EDIT: Just checked; at least on Pearl, eggs have trainer IDs. That means that the hatcher's ID is only assigned after the egg hatches, explaining the glitch.

I have a few questions to clear up.

1) this egg glitch, does it happen no matter what? or only when you trade to a different game which has the shiny ID. so if I calculated my platinum sid and did an egg for it, then it would hatch shiny, but if I checked my Diamond sid and did an egg for it on Platinum, then traded before the egg hatched. then the egg will hatch normal, but once deposited in the PC, then it becomes shiny?

2) can this program be opened without saving it?

3) when I look for a shiny spread. does it HAVE to be the nature listed, or can I change that nature some way?

Wait, is this one better than the other calculators?
Can you get the accurate IV's from a lower level there?
That would be great, as I will buy a real copy of Platinum when it's released in Europe. I know use an IV code with my R4, but I don't have any cheat devices xD

1. Someone else can answer.
2. Not sure of question, same as 1.
3. It will be that nature no matter what.

The glitch only affects the Pokémon on the hatch screen. After it hatches, it will be shiny (you don't need to deposit it).

And no, you can't change the nature of the shiny spreads.

I will catch a low level pokemon and test how accurate it is.

dang. I guess I'll have to make sure I have a set of paretns for every usable nature. still want to know about the second question. thanks for answering
