Could someone clarify for me what IVs I would need for hidden power fire? Like, Odd/Even/Even/... or whatever.

If that makes sense.

Taken from the Breeding Guide:

6. x/x/x/30/31/30 + x/x/x/30/31/30 = x/x/x/30/31/30 (1:16)

About every 16th baby will now have a chance to have Hidden Power FIRE with base power at least 65, if any one of the following holds:
  • Attack IV is an odd number, HP IV and Defense IV are even numbers
  • Defense IV is an odd number, HP IV and Attack IV are even numbers
  • Attack IV is an even number, HP IV and Defense IV are odd numbers
  • Defense IV is an even number, HP IV and Attack IV are odd numbers
This means that the highest IVs you can have for Hidden Power FIRE are either 31/31/30/30/31/30 or 31/30/31/30/31/30.

What's a good Jolteon counter for an offensive team? My (dun dun DUN!) legendary team in the process of being tweaked currently runs Scarf Flygon, but is there anything else? Flygon's ugly.

Despite its bad reputation, the analysis brings up Electivire as a counter. Tyranitar is another good choice, due to his strong attacks and Special Defense boost in Sand. Basically, anything that resists Electric, and can take a Shadow Ball or Hidden Power will work.

EDIT: Forgot about Heatran. Even Timid Specs Jolteon can only 2HKO it with Thunder if I remember correctly.

Why do most Electivires run Cross Chop instead of Brick Brake? BB is 25% weaker but has 100% accuracy, I'm not too thrilled with moves that have accuracy below 90%, only exception is Stone Edge, so I'm thinking of Teaching mine BB over CC, is that a bad idea? Can you give me some examples of when Cross Chop would be better than Brick Brake?

IS it possible to ohko dusknoir without the use of setup choice items or ubers

Really depends on the set. Assuming standard 252 HP / 252 Def Impish, powerful special attacks can do it.

Modest Gengar Shadow Ball: 138.78% - 163.27%

Timid Heatran Fire Blast: 94.22% - 111.22%

Code:
[B]36 Atk w/ Expert Belt[/B]:
CC vs. 0/252 Blissey: 64.52% - 76.19%
BB vs. 0/252 Blissey: 48.54% - 57.45%

CC vs. 4/0 Heatran: 62.96% - 74.07%
BB vs. 4/0 Heatran: 46.60% - 55.56%

CC vs. 168/120 Snorlax: 84.02% - 99.08%
BB vs. 168/120 Snorlax: 62.98% - 74.35%

[B]252+ w/ Expert Belt[/B]:
CC vs. 0/252 Blissey: 81.48% - 96.30%
BB vs. 0/252 Blissey: 61.42% - 72.53%

CC vs. 4/0 Heatran: 62.96% - 74.07%

CC vs. 168/120 Snorlax: 66.20% - 78.13%
BB vs. 168/120 Snorlax: 49.50% - 58.65%

CC is needed to ensure a lot of 2HKOs on the Mixed set. BB is an acceptable alternative for pure physical (which has EQ for Heatran, but I included it anyways), though with some previous damage CC can one-shot most of them.

Thank you, but by the looks of it, CC won't really 1 hit KO any of the listed PKMN, so if you don't have anything that eats up their HP, like poison, then you'll pretty much have to attack it again. The Electivire I'm going for will be Adamant @ Life Orb with 252/Atk and 252/Spd. So I'm thinking BB, what do you say?

While I'm not a fan of that set, Brick Break will be fine (damage will increase a little with Life Orb); just be sure you have Stealth Rock on the field to ensure those 2HKOs with Leftovers.

how common would it be to find a pokemon in the wild with 31 in a single IV? i've caught quite a few (was day flipping to get swarmed pokemon)

catchign ten pinsir and 10 makuhita, i got the following

1 pincir with 31 attack
1 with 31 speed
1 with 31 defense

and of the makuhita, only one with a 31, but it has 2, 31 in attack, and 31 in special defense.

just wondering the chances, as the makuhita is going to help alot when breeding my lucario's (Going for bullet punch for the priority)

Are warstories always from Shoddy or do people also record their wifi battles?

There are more Shoddy stories, though the earliest ones come from Wifi. You get the occasional Wifi story, but it's considered unusual enough now that people point out that it's on the actual game.

I have an Eevee egg in my party next to a Flame Body Magmar, and its parent Eevee. Before, it took 4845 steps to hatch, like the page for Flame Body said it should. After soft resetting for IVs, I took a break to evolve some other Pokemon, leaving the egg with the old man. Now it only takes 4370 steps to hatch. Does anyone know why? I don't know how relevant this is, but its parent Ditto is still in the Daycare. This is in Pearl.

Somewhat similar to
I am breeding right now a Gyarados and a Ditto and everytime I get the egg back, instead of the game saying: "What will hatch from this? It will take some time," it IMMEDIATELY says "Sounds can be heard from inside! It will hatch soon!"

What the heck?!

Is it possible to battle DS vs. Wii with Pokemon Battle Revolution? I see where you can battle using two or more DS's but not with DS vs. Wii. If this is the case, then this game really sucks.

1. If a Pokemon with pokerus holds exp share, does it gain 2x the EVs?

2. If you max out evasion with a move like Double Team, does an item like Bright Powder still have any effect?

3. If you mate a female Pokemon holding an Everstone with a Ditto, will the 50% nature thing from the female work?

1. It does gain the double effect from pokerus.

2. I'm not too sure, but Bright Powder wouldn't have an effect since evasion's maxed out(makes sense to me).

3. Yes.

Ditto always is treated as the female, so the Ditto will have to be the one holding the Everstone. As long as it is though, it will work, yeah.

Is there a way to find out which IV spread to use for a particular Hidden Power on a Legendary Pokemon. I am trying to figure out the best IV spread to use on a Timid Zapdos that gives me HP Grass, but I can't find any legal IV spreads.

Why not Scarfed Garchomp? U-turn can't possibly be worth forgoing the chance to use Garchomp.

Maybe a specially bulky Scizor could trap and kill with Pursuit? I like CB Tyranitar, though.

You know that Garchomp has been banned from OU for some time, right? That's why people use Flygon.

Tyranitar is a good Jolteon counter, since he can take anything Jolteon can throw at it. Scizor is not so much a counter, because it doesn't take Thunderbolts as easily (though almost all of Scizor's attacks at least 2HKO it).

Sorry about that. I thought for some reason that we were discussing Ubers. I realize that I probably look like an idiot, but in my defense the last I read of Thorns was his Ubers RMT.
