Hey, Dawgies here asking another question for my future team. :)

How do I teach Hypno (or Drowzee) the move Baton Pass in Diamond? I've looked on Serebii but it doesn't show it even can learn it, in any way possible. But on here it says so. Mistake? But on who's part? And if I have to breed it onto him, any good chains/simple I can use?

Thanks.

According to Hypno's analysis here, Baton Pass is a Pokemon XD move, which means you have to catch (or "snag", I don't know how you get Hypno/Drowzee in XD) it there and then transfer it to R/S/Fr/Lg/E, then Pal Park it over.

*EDIT*
Twice too slow. >.>

hey i put up a starly lvl 2 male lokking for a scizor on the GTS on my platinum then i go to my diamond GTS look up starly and try to trade my sczior to my platinum then i cant find the orignal starly i put up when using the GTS on my diamond

whats the problem?

Maybe there's simply too many low-level Starly's being offered on the GTS? <_< Or maybe you got lucky and someone actually traded you their own Scizor!

*watches pigs fly with chunks of frozen fire taken from hell in their mouths*

anyone got an answer to my question

Well, the problem is that when you search, it only gives you like 4 results max. Obviously, there's more than 4 Starlies on the GTS. It randomly selects those four from the pool (I think...). I think you have to keep getting off and getting on the GTS to try to find it [Warning: This is just a total guess, and I could be completely wrong. It's how I see it to be, though.]

Edit: WTH foiled by MM87 and Rey >_>

hey can somebody give me my secret id by using pokesav for me because my comp wont work with sav i need it also for the rng but do i need a shiny for the pokesav technique to work? or will any old pokemon do?

also how do i post my own avatar onto my account?

I cant help you with the first one but i can with the second one.

Go to "User CP" and once you are there click "Edit Avatar" or "Avatar Options" (i dont remember how its named). Then search an image and thats it lol

umm this question might be confusing but here it goes, if i put up a starly lvl 3 male on the GTS for a sczior lvl 100 male then go on a different version like pearl and put up my my scizor lvl 100 male and want a starly lvl 3 male in return will the two pokemon automatically be traded or i have to search it then press yes?

while i can easily access the tiers, i want to get into competitive battling, and figured the best place to start is UU (i'm not overly sure though, i'm pretty new to all this.) i guess i want to do some stuff on shoddy, but i don't understand all these clauses and stuff, any guides to all this out there?

EDIT: i've heard there are banned moves as well, but i just can't seem to find anything, i must be looking in the wrong place.

Also, banned moves are self-raising evasion moves (Double Team and Minimize, although Acupressure is fine because it's random), and OHKO moves (Sheer Cold, Fissure, Horn Drill, and Guilliotine.)

http://www.smogon.com/dp/articles/pokemon_dictionary

both of those articles explain the basic ideas behind competitive battling pretty well. IMO the most important thing to think about when you're new is the difference between mindlessly destroying the E4 and playing an intelligent human opponent. for example if you bring a jolteon into your opponent's non-dragon danced gyarados they're not very likely to stay in, so (depending on what jolteon you have) your best move may NOT be to thunderbolt (since they're likely to bring in a ground type to absorb it). stuff like that.

when I first started playing I tried out OU for a few days but got absolutely destroyed, so I tried to escape and started playing UU. I don't really think it matters, though... just personal preference, perhaps. something that may be important to consider is that there are a lot more OU players than UU players which means it'll be easier for you to find matches if you play OU.

i understand that, it's sort of like pokemon chess, i've read lots of warstories, and even though it's not gonna make me good, it's at least given me some sort of grip on how to handle things. thanks for the guides though

Are there new moves in platinum, or did they just add already existing moves to current pokemons movesets? Basically what im asking is do I have to worry about my game crashing while playing with a person who has platinum over wifi because his arcanine used "uber tackle" when uber tackle doesnt exist in my game? Thanks.

^No, Platinum has the same exact moves as Diamond and Pearl; no new ones were added in. A few Pokemon got new forms in Platinum, but their new forms can't be used on Wi-Fi, so that isn't a problem.

The Smogon analysis for DD Feraligatr suggests the following EV spread :
28 HP / 252 Atk / 228 Spe.
I'm assuming that the 228 Spe EV is to outspeed a certain threat after 1 (or 2) DD. Would it matter if I just EV it 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe? Or are those 28 HP EV's necessary to survive against a certain threat's attack?

EDIT : And a question about Power items. Do they add a flat +4 to the respective EV? Or does it double?

Me and a friend of mine would like to tag team battle online like you do in the battle tower with cheryl and others. Is that possible?

For the Battle Frontier in Platinum, you may do so over Wi-Fi. If you only have the Battle Tower in Diamond and Pearl, you can do local wireless for the Battle Tower.

1) Im pretty sure its because with 228 is enough to outspeed the things you need, and a little more HP is never bad, though you can use 252 speed if you want.

2) A flat +4

Since it's a pretty commom pokemon, I think it's better asking here than posting a new thread on wi-fi section.

What's negator's latios' OT and ID?

is it true that you can run from Giratina in Platinum and face him later on in Turnback Cave?

I want to continue with the game and not SR for him right now.
