Well, I left the world because I wanted to try out the RNG. But if someone could possibly help me get a really good one (I'm looking at your Pokerealm). That'd be great.
Yea. Giratina-A is Turnback cave and Giratina-O is Torn/Distortion World.
I went after a shiny good IVed Giratina-O on my Platinum, and that resetting for me started on Offset 12, so I noticed the 12 too, if that helps any.
This makes you wonder where the first 11 RNG Calls are going to though..I saved right before pressing A, even after the Giratina came floating down, so it didn't have time to do much. Or maybe Distortion World just has its own rules or something. *shrugs*
I got a nice shiny modest Giratina w/ 20+ IVs in everything except attack. Really nice find.
Nice info, but have you found anything about getting really good IV's?This reminds me, I got once a Giratina at a frame higher than 15, which was the one I was expecting as I had three pokémon with me and walked 128 steps, but I left the floating steps to have more room to run. Maybe the map "change" that occurs make RNG calls too...?
EDIT: Tried again, now it was either 10 or 36.
EDIT2: There, did it again. Firstly, I only left the floating steps so they would disappear, and came back again. Got frame 12. I tried again, this time leaving the "inner map" and coming back. I got two possible frames, 34 and... 36.
EDIT3: Saved the game before the inner map, resetted, walked in, caught Giratina-O. Frame was... 25. What the hell, it should be 24 :/
EDIT4: Frame 25 again... Hmm, could it be that walking in the tile that changes the map counts as 1 frame also, so to advance by 12 instead of 13, you must already start the game on the tile, but facing south...
EDIT5: Walked in (which means I made one step, so it must have advanced by 13). Faced south, and north, and south, and north again (which made the map changed every time. Yes, the same tile is shared by the two maps). Went to Giratina-O, caught it. Frame is... 69 or 73.
12 (inicial offset) + 13 (walking in, changing the map) = 25;
12 x 4 (facing north and south two times each, so the map would change with no steps) = 48;
25 + 48 = 73.
Heh. Seems catching my shiny Giratina-O will be much easier than I could even imagine.
Hey, maybe this also works for the other legends?

Does the number of pokemon in your party make any difference in these steps?1) Find the offset of the Pokemon you Scented and caught. Make sure it's for the correct seed.
2) Find your target frame.
3) Number of times RNG needs to be advanced: target frame - (offset + 8)
4) If the number is odd, then walk 128 steps to advance the RNG by 1. Subtract 1 from the number of RNG advances. (Note: these 128 steps have to be made in an area where no wild Pokemon randomly appear, like the inside of the Lake caves)
5) Divide that result by two to calculate the number of journal flips you'll have to make.

You shouldn't even have anybody in the DC. Otherwise, what's the point? You need to have the parents either with you or in the PC ready to go into the DC.if i have stuff in daycare will it mess up the shiny egg taps?
kk just making sure. You shouldn't even have anybody in the DC. Otherwise, what's the point? You need to have the parents either with you or in the PC ready to go into the DC.
When I walked out his "door" and turned around, it became 2. That's normal right?Yesterday my offset for Heatran was two, today it became 1 a lot of times. What the hell is causing this O_O"
Note: Delays aren't the same all the time, but still.

Actually, I highly recommend scenting outside the cave. When you Sweet Scent starting from a particular save point, the Scented Pokemon almost always shows up on the same frame. So if you make a list of some of the frame X Pokemon that show up at nearby delay\seconds, you can just take one look at a Pokemon's nature and characteristic and say "Oh, I hit 601 delay and 25 seconds again" without ever having to bust out the Rare Candies to check.
It would be nice if the next version of RNG Reporter had a feature that automatically listed these adjacent spreads for a particular frame.
EDIT: Just to clarify, I don't recommend scenting outside the cave as a means of advancing the RNG, though. That'd just take forever.

You can have parents in as long as an egg is not produced before you finish the process. This may put you one frame past your goal.kk just making sure.
It's probably easier to just kill it the first time around and then catch it in Turnback Cave.Ok, here's what I have about Distortion's Giratina:
When you are to face Giratina-O, there are two maps: The "normal map" where the background "flows" slowly, and an "inner map", where the background is darker and faster. There is a single tile that unites both maps. When you are on the normal map, facing north when you're on this tile transfers you to the inner map, where facing south when in the same tile makes you return to the normal map.
Each time you face to change the map (that is, north when in normal, south when in inner), the RNG advances by 12. However, curiously enough, when you start the game on the normal, map, one step away from the damned tile OR already on the tile but facing south (the only possible way to do this is getting into the inner map and then leaving it), and then walks in the inner map (that is, you're one step away of it, walk north and than the map changes), it advances by 13 instead.
It ONLY advances by 13 in these situations. If you're facing south when the game starts, or if you try to do so from the inner map (that is, one step away, facing wherever you want), or if you come from the inner map, walks one step south and then one step north (trying to repeat the "13 movement"), it won't work and will advance by 12 only.
I'm sure there are a lot of grammar errors there (damn you prepositions), but I've made my point across.
Are you sure about that? It's probably easier to just kill it the first time around and then catch it in Turnback Cave.
Also, what's the trick for hunting down and catching Cresselia? I seem to have forgotten how to do it.
Ok...but it just feels weird having to kill the poor guy. Or run even.Am I sure about what? If you faint or run away from Giratina in Torn World, it will appear in Turnback Cave after you beat the E4. I just finished catching it in this manner, so I can confirm that (a) it will be there, and (b) its IVs are not set.
So I'm looking at the Calibration phase in the OP and it doesn't say how to determine your offset? I'm trying to catch Azelf, so should I just input 1?
Well, to be honest, I did it that way so I could play through the rest of the game in the meantime. This was way before the RNG was figured out. However, an offset of 12 could shave a few journal taps off your wait, so if you're in Torn World right now, save in front of him and give it a shot, I suppose.Ok...but it just feels weird having to kill the poor guy. Or run even.
So you think it's easier to just sit in front of him and do the RNG that way?
