I just hope that they make the Johto pokemon appear earlier in the games.

Scizor: Metal Coat wasn't availabe until after the elite four
Steelix: See Scizor
Gligar: Not availabe until blackthorn
Skarmory: Not availabe until blackthron
Phanpy: Not availabe until blackthron
Wobbuffett: Not available until blackthorn
Tyrogue: Not available until you get waterfall
Houndoor: Not available until you beat the Elite Four
Slugma: Not availabe until you beat the Elite Four
Sneasel: Not available until Mt. Silver
Larvitar: Not available until Mt. Silver
Misdreavus: Not available until Mt. Silver
Blissey: Not availabe until you beat the Elite Four

It'd be nice if these pokemon weren't caught so late in the game.

Considering how many pokemon there were that's not so many. Afterall they do want you to have something to do after completing certain areas. If you can catch larvitars and sneasels right away its not really that "exciting" to see them later on.

Awww, I liked DawnGold and SunsetSilver better...

Now what im wondering is, will they use the new sprites from DPP? Or the old ones? Or mayby even brand new ones.

Also, will there be hoenn/DP pokes avaliable? (Weavile rocks the elite four)

Will this be a DSi exclusive? It has some DSi exclusive features, but if it was that would suck, I'm not going to buy a DSi just for this, even though I loved the G/S/C games the most.

I think they should have given it the names from the TCG, Gold Sky and Silver Ocean, but still, pretty decent names I guess.

Firstly, It would never be DSi exclusive. Why would you reduce your fanbase from 100 million people to 5 million people? Anyways, on the nintendo page, it says that the game is for DS, so go figure.

As I've said multiple time, as well as on the first post, it's for Nintendo DS. Not DSi.

I'd be REALLY nice if Nintendo could Revamp the Johto sprites :)

I love Gold Eevee~

Find a copy of the official Pokedex book for D/P (I have one :D) . Look at the little bio pictures for GSC, and compare them to the D/P ones. There's a big difference.

I love all Eevee.

are they the same as the RSE/FRLG set though? I don't have the resources so could someone check? Given that they revamped the sprites for platinum for the new DP's it's likely they'll do the same thing for the johto ones.

Hopefully they make the playthrough a little more interesting, engaging, and different than they have recently. I'd like to see a little more plot development and have some curve balls thrown at me. Maybe even some emotion? I just played through Platinum this week, after putting it down for a month out of boredom. The only reason I beat it was for tutors and so I could compete in VGC. After playing through these games 10+ times, I'd really love some change.

That's so cool. And I love the names "HeartGold" and "SoulSilver". I really want them to release this quickly..

**Hopes that this is real**

The Pokemon games have never been about plot for me, and when they tried to do that (Colosseum, XD) I was extremely disappointed. It's hard to make a good story when the game's target audience is young children.

I would prefer if they actually did less with the story in the main entries. I don't care about Team *BLANK* and their plans to take over the world or steal everybody's Pokemon. In fact, I would rather they dropped the whole concept. The "story" elements that I really enjoy in Pokemon games are the already important characters' stories and interactions with other characters.

The Galactic/Cyrus story extensions in Platinum did nothing for me. What I did enjoy was seeing the gym leaders interact with each other more, your rival (Barry) interact with other characters more, stuff like that. With 8 gym leaders, 4 elite four members, a champion, a rival, a professor, the opposite gender character, your parent(s), and a few other important characters thrown in, the Pokemon games should be able to make an interesting and engaging cast of characters out of that. Otherwise, I prefer to just adventure and do my own thing in the games.

- New images for Kanto/Johto Pokemon, DPP images for Hoenn/Sinnoh Pokemon.
- Red Gyarados present but not catchable.
- New PokeGear with phone, radio and new apps. DSi-exclusive camera app you save image to dsi memorys. Gold-Silver versions, you can change at Silph Co. It's backwards compatible with Poketch apps (!).

- New DSi app: Pokebox. It's a mini-Pokemon Ranch.
- Little changes on the story and some gameplay differences. Bug catching, fishing. Sweet honey replaces headbutt.
- Ho-Oh, Lugia, and the three dogs, just like in the original games.
- Kanto is available, you can obtain Kanto starters, Mewtwo and the birds. Safari Zone and Cinnabar Island are present.
- Secret islands and locations for event pokemons: Mew, Deoxys. GS Celebi event is back, though maybe it'll be removed from non-japanese versions...
- Underground, secret bases, fossils, gems. You can obtain the fossil pokemons at Cinnabar Island.
- Battle Frontier. After you finish it, you can obtain a Hoenn starter.

Not my information, but otherwise absent from this thread. Of course, take all of this with a grain of salt.

Third pic is an old, known fake, so I'm really doubting any of the rest of this stuff having any legitimacy, especially since the source is some random, new account on GameFAQs. Some of that stuff may turn out to be correct (of course like Ho-oh, Lugia, and the Legendary Beasts remaining, which are obvious, and things like Honey-trees turning out to have indeed replaced Headbutting), but that would jsut be coincidence as it seems like this guy is just messing around with people (or was tricked himself, and is just spreading the false info around unknowingly).

...Plus, the mention of them adding both an Underground (beyond one of the Goldenrod variety) and Secret Bases to G/S/C, when FR/LG didn't have Secret Bases despite them existing in R/S, Secret Bases weren't even in DPPt or GSC, and how G/S/C already has the ability to decorate your room as a substitute for Secret bases just screams fake to me (that, and the mention of Deoxys, which really doesn't belong, but is more believable at least).

Theres one thing I hope they fix. The levels of the wild Pokemon.
I mean seriously, Ilex Forest was the WORST. When you're preparing for that horror that is LV20 Miltank, you do NOT train well against LV6 Zubats and Spinaraks. So yes, they should up the Leaders levels, but PLEASE up the wild pokes levels a bit too.

In fr/lg, they did some adjustments and gave you the VS Seeker to train up on other trainers. That definately wasn't on the previous GB version. There was soome new additions in keeping up with AVD but not enough to deviate from it. Sadly, Diving may be gone forever, though why lugia doesn't live ina deep sea trench that isn't otherwise accessible than Dive is beyond me. Of course, they might bring Whirlpool back as a HM, but that would be just plain weird.

Why would they release Deoxys in a remake ?Yeah, I can see Mew being in it (but not colmpletely event-free *shifty eyes*) but they definatly need to keep Celebi a catchable after the torture they put us though with the Colleseum Bonus disk, the GS Ball for Japanese versions only...c'mon now.

Outside of that I'm rather suspect about the rest of the "changes". I wish they brought headbutting back though, because you could sit there all day until you got a heracross, just headbutting away. :toast:

I really hope this is true.
...and maybe they'll find a way to make it backward-compatible with GSC!! (don't know how, though.) I swear I will get this if it ever comes out.

Fog will most likely be replaced as an HM by Whirlpool, or they will just make a new HM like they did with R/S FR/LG, where dive was HM08 in one, but non-existant, (and uneeded) in the other, while Rock Smash was neede in both, Fog has no use in GSC remakes unless they add new areas, which in FRLG you didnt need waterfall till after the main story line.

BTW never believe anyone with 1 freaking post.

I can't wait to see what they do with Mt. Silver a new section after beating the E4+Kanto Leauge seems most plausible, containing Sinnoh/Hoenn Pokes, though Sinnoh pokes would fit in more than the Tropical pokemon of Hoenn.

Hmm? In R/S, they just kept the original 5 HMs from RGBY, and added three new ones on top of that as HM 5-8. Then, in FR-LG, you picked up those same first 5 HMs like normal, but once you beat the game, you could go to the Sevii Islands, and get and use the last three there. In other words, FR/LG and R/S/E used the exact same HMs as each other (and TMs as well). Since they didn't change the HMs/TMs for FR/LG, I don't really think that they will for HG/SS either, and that they'll figure out some other way of handling Whirlpool (and other HM issues) instead.

Its impossible for a 2nd gen game to be able to transfer to a 4th gen game. The data that makes up 2nd gen pokemon is completely different than 4th gen games. 3rd gen games can only trade with DPP because their pokemon files are the same as dpp pokemon files. And stop asking if this game is a rumor, or you hope its true. The Japanese official site updated with this, its 100% confirmed to come out.

I'm pretty sure the Whirlpools will still be there, but they'll just be there for eye candy. We won't have to use HM to deal with them directly, just Surf around them for the most part. However, if they keep Whirlpool's inside the cave, I think we'll just have to use Strength to move boulders in order to slow down / shrink the Whirlpool's in order to Surf across safely. Much like the rapids in Seafoam Islands.

Not exactly there was no HM08 in FR/LG(Dive), which as in RSE, they will either drop Defog all together or just add another HM, seeing as Whirlpool is still a move and the Islands' names being Whirlpool, I'm seeing no reason to leave is absent.
