Considering Platinum and the awesome looking scans for GS, I got to wonder if GF made Pearl/Diamond at a certain level just to that they could totally out-class it for the sequals. :P

The red button says Shiraberu, which means to investigate.

Hm do you think Mareep or Hoppip will be Amty Square-like Pokemon and be able to follow you around the game like the starters? I hope so... :333
 
As of now, I'm pretty hellbent on having a Feraligatr following me around...

And I will name it Fluffy.

Either way, holy crap. The Larvitar is cool, the Gligar makes me feel awkward, Slowpoke Well is an actual well, and the female character could look a lot worse. The way I see it, she's better than Dawn. I'm demanding Silver art, though. I want to see if they're still making Paul look like him. Definite hope that the story of Silver is elaborated upon.

In conclusion, one year is a helluva long time.

That's not the question.

The question is why anyone would catch a useless pokemon like Hoppip and make it at the fore front of the party. Wouldn't you want to evolve it ASAP so it wouldn't be as shitty?
 
Pokegear's making a return, from the Entei Movie(Pokemon 4) you see what it actually looks like, and it looks like a teched up version both protagnists are wearing, thank god not a poketch -_-, lol at the female character.

From the looks of it they are keeping the original Johto Dex, which I prefer actually, not a big fan of Sinnoh or Hoenn pokes in my G/S remakes.

Well, some people might go for cute value. Amity square was very discriminatory in that sense ;(

I'd love to have a Feraligatr follow me around, too. They'd have to theoretically program walking for every sprite though...and I don't see how we'd be able to have something as large as Groudon's on screen sprite following us around. I wonder what the limit will be. `-`
 
im shocked no one has mentioned this possibility.

the sprite following you could be following you only until you get the poke permanently. isn't that how it works in gsc?

You wre just given the starter to protect yourself on the way to get the Egg for Elm, yes.

However, it doesn't really matter; it's already been confirmed from screenshots that the starter will continue to follow you after the fact, since it's seen in places like Slowpoke Well:

In all honestly I'm not seeing any point to this fucntion I'd find it rather annoying, never the less I wanting to see the new Sugomori art on Karen and Will, I also wouldn't be suprised if there was some kind of connection between Will and Lucian.

Anyway, can't wait to see the Johto Special, hopefully with Ash and Co. and not Jimmy, although he was quite a character.

I'm not sure about this one...it does seem like the Pichu has taken the place of your starter in following you, thus activating the event. Then again, it could have only temporarily swapped with your starter for the sake of the event...

I really want Squirtle to follow me everywhere. :'(
 
I think they'd make a lot of people upset if they had to keep their level 70 Chikorita from evolving in order to still have a tag-along friend ;(

The scans are really new anyway, maybe they'll reveal more later :>

The Arceus section in the scans is just showing its different PokeDex entries in Diamond and Pearl. It also says that in Platinum, you can hear the legend of Arceus from a hiker in the Oreburgh Mine and then later in the Canalave Library when you have the Arceus from the movie event in your party. The legend just summarizes what we already know about the legendaries of Sinnoh in that Arceus is the creator and Dialga, Palkia, and the lake trio were born from it.
Other scenes from the magazine show Team Rocket confronting Gold, the 3D scene where you pick your starter, the Slowpoke Well, and the outside of Kurt's house, most of which were in the CoroCoro scans.

After viewing the first scan. I noticed Chikorita had a different sprite than DPPt, which means that they probably did/doing a sprite revamp of the whole Johto dex, which is awesome.

About the Arceus story thing, I read it on Serebii, and it doesn't have much additional information on the books you can read in the library.
 
Er, if you're asking about the scans I posted, I'm assuming you mean the little red balls with "TrueGaming" behind them, right? If so, they have nothing to do with the scans. I think they're just there to advertise the people who got them or something.
 
I must say Crystal is good (I am playing it now) but if there were improvements it would be better. There is nothing like the original though.......

There are new sprites, look at the Chikorita sprite in the image a few posts up.


I keep failing to realize that this is a DS game. I keep expecting something like FRLG, but then I look at these screenshots and think, "wow". Going from those crappy original GB graphics to the DS is going to be incredible.
Here's hoping for a phenominal Mt. Silver.

Also, amazing new hatch locations!!! I know that in Sinnoh it's just going to show up as "Johto", but in HGSS we'll have some awesome stuff. I should make a preliminary list...

Obligatory "Gyarados born at Lake of Rage" comment. I don't see why would anyone breed for a Gyarados when you can catch one that's ALL RED AND BRIGHT OMG, but still!
 
Haha that's a given. Lake of Rage would be awesome for so many other things too.

Wow so no one thought of using a gastly to put miltank to sleep then use x items on your attacker and finally ohkoing that miltank.

Miltank was faster than mostly Gastlies (100 Base Speed versus 80), and she had Rollout, IIRC. Gastly isn't exactly a physical wall. And what if Whitney's Miltank has Scrappy and Chesto Berry in HGSS? Even a Haunter will be USELESS!

Who started a Miltank discussion lol?

My plan was just to sack Gastly by using Curse on it. Now with 1/4 of its health getting worn down each turn it can't Rollout spam to flatten my whole team.

Chikorita looks like its GS sprite...wonder if
1) They'll do separate sprites
or
2) They'll revamp the original sprites.
