Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Haku16, use this to find spreads. Try that first and then try following the instructions in the OP if you haven't already. That's easier first than trying to explain the whole thing to you now at 1 in the morning XP

EDIT; Raist it doesn't matter as long as you make it the same every time. I always hit "start" on the AR right at 00 seconds of every minute, giving me 16 seconds every time.
 
well i did. i opened the pokedex before the taps checked seadras location
then i did the taps and voila, i still hatched the shiny lonely trapinich as promised

Ah, see we're talking about different RNGs. You are talking about the IRNG, whereas I was talking about the Normal RNG.
 
your talking about the IV and legend RNG?...i didn't know there was a difference O.o its too complicated for me, im gonna study it over in my vacations
 
When you have put your parents in the day care and are waiting for an egg, does it matter if you talk to the day care man before an egg has appeared or will that screw things up? Also, when is the pokemon's ability set, when you take the egg, or when the egg is generated? Cheers guys.

No talking to him will not effect the outcome, although it is easier to just wait until he faces right, meaning he holds an egg.

The ability is set when the egg is generated.

I know the IVs were correct because it was something like

27/2-3/23/23/23/23

I tried both two and three and it said it wasn't right. I know it doesn't mess it up because I've successfully done it many times. As for leveling it up, I have a window open with Metalkid's calculator, then I rare candy it up a level or two and make sure of the IVs. So unless Metalkid's calculator is messed up I'm doing something different than what I've always done to get the seed.

it could be a mistake in metalkids or even one number off when entering the stats into the calculator can cause issues.

If it's your seconds that keep screwing up, try hard-resetting. Before, when I used soft reset I kept getting one or two seconds off, both high and low. Then, when I finally gave up with hot-wiring my DS's busted shoulder button I switched to hard resetting and got a perfect 29 seconds every single time.

If it's delay you've got a problem with (probably), try pressing the A button really fast but not so hard your hand cramps from all the button mashing. It's easier to keep a consistent rhythm that way.

Whats hard resesting?
 
Hard resetting is using the power switch to turn the game off and on, as opposed to soft resetting, using the L+R+Start+Select combination to reset the game.
 
Well, something is wrong. I know the exact IVs and time and it still doesn't find a seed. Does anyone have any idea what could cause this other than incorrect IVs, Time or Nature?
 
My Platinum used to give me that. It would give me no seeds or seeds with delays in the thousands. I just had to wait a while, and occasionally reinstall RNG Reporter. Another thing that helped me was basically wiping all my info from RNG Reporter. I deleted my ID, SID, Time, everything. It started working after I did that.

Reinstalling / Removing your ID/SID had nothing at all to do with whether you were getting results from the initial seed finder. RNG Reporter is not windows and does not require occasional reinstalls to work correctly, so this is bad advice and will just serve to waste time.

Putting in correct information will always work, though.
 
Well I'm sorry... I was trying to give what worked for me. He could choose to pay attention to it or to not. It worked for me, so....~~

Time: 12:47 (I'm GMT -4) Date: 5-24 Nature, Pokemon and IVs: Impish Magikarp: 23 / 15 / 7 / 24 / 18 / 30

When I click on find seed, it says

No reasonable initial seed found. Please check your DATE and TIME.

But every other time it says

No matches for the IVs entered, please check and try again.

I've used Psypokes and Metalkids calculators. I gtg now, so if you need anything else, I'll be on tomorrow.
 
Ok.

When you get this "No matches for the IVs entered, please check and try again." it absolutely means you have entered the IVs incorrectly or calculated them incorrectly. For verification on that enter them into X-Acts IVs to PID calculator and you should see similar results.

When the Pokemon is valid that still does not mean the IVs are correct, it just means what you entered is actually possible. Chances are, though, that the IVs are incorrect. Or the hour, but that's about it.
 
Just a quick question which I'm sure can easily be answered.

I'm unsure how the Frame becomes effected when the game is started up.
I can find and lock on to a frame I am on, for example when I bred a flawless Jolteon, I was on Frame 5 and when I hatched it, it was fine.
Then, when I tried to do a Crobat I found that I was on Frame 6, and the delay was 630 (easy for me to get) and that I hit the right seed(?) within 3 Soft Resets, as the coin flip's matched perfectly to the spread I wanted, and was frame 6.
So I hatched it, and it was a really bad and different spread.
The same problem happened again with a Vaporeon I was doing.

I think it might be related to..
When I press continue and before I get the egg, the NPCs moving advance the Frame.
Question on this, the two Human NPC's by the Daycare Man must advance the frame if they move, but do the Buneary's?

But I am not saving after finding out my Frame, nor do I have the Journal coming up.

Any advice?
 
do you need to hard reset if your ds clock is in synch with another clock? also can someone please try to help me understand how the iv RNG abuse after getting a shiny egg thing works. pm's please.
 
You have to synch your DS clock no matter what!

I do believe that a lot of the errors on this last page are caused by DS clocks not synchronized correctly. Anyway, if you hard reset or if you use soft reset, the clock should be synchronized, so that you can know exactly what time it is on your DS when you press 'A' on the continue screen.
 
IV RNG Breeding question:

So, I consistently got frames of 4-5 during the frame calibration thread. When I put this in to the time finder, I got nothing.

Sooo, I added 2 like the directions stated. I still got nothing until I had added 2 three times. I don't know if I was supposed to do this but I thought I'd try before asking.

Anyway, I've hatched 3 eggs now and I haven't been able to find any of the three spreads on the list :|.

Does the frame have something to do with that?
 
Somebody should create a "Noobs guide to RNG legendaries" to avoid all of the soft-resetting. I have tried RNGing them but I just can't get it down. I'm sure many others would like it too.
