Pokemon Riddle

I changed the riddle because I found out Conversion is glitched on Shoddy. But yeah, except for Banette, that's basically right (Banette is not immune to Ground) - for the first riddle.

Oh yeah, I was thinking insomnia meant rest failed, forgot the whole full HP thing.

Meaning it's probably Gengar.

It's not Gengar, and it can't be for a specific reason.

rofl I'm having a dumb moment then. Hm... Immune to ground and normal, learns shadow claw... Not Gengar... Rest can't work.

The beautiful, 1 HP Shedinja. How did I forget that.

And if I missed it I'll let someone else figure this last part out.

... I was thinking it has to be Drifblim, or else it'll say "<pokemon name> makes the move miss with Levitate" or "Shedinja doesn't get hit cuz of Wonder Guard"... but it says "it does not affect" instead.

Shedinja is slower than Smeargle.

Rotom(-x) fits the damage calcs.

EDIT: Oh, forgot the levitate message. That means Drifblim will work with max damage roll.

Yeah, Chinese Dood is right.

X - Smeargle
Y - Drifblim
A - Conversion2 (stupid Conversion glitch made me lose the Smeargle LNT)
B - Shadow Ball

Yeah, Chinese Dood is right.

X - Smeargle
Y - Drifblim
A - Conversion2 (stupid Conversion glitch made me lose the Smeargle LNT)
B - Shadow Ball
But you said all IVs were 31, which implies Hidden Power Dark. The only three types which resist Dark are Dark, Fighting and Steel, none of which are weak to Ghost.

Yeah, there were some inconsistencies because I changed the problem. The first one was Conversion, but I discovered that Conversion only fails (ie; picks a move of the same type even when you have other typed moves) on Shoddy. So I changed it, but in my haste, failed to correct a few things.

Yeah, Chinese Dood is right.

X - Smeargle
Y - Drifblim
A - Conversion2 (stupid Conversion glitch made me lose the Smeargle LNT)
B - Shadow Ball
Ooooooh! ... Yeah, I couldn't figure out what A was. I thought about Conversion and Conversion 2, but neither would have worked. One would have worked in one case but not the other, unless the IVs were actually all 30s, so you'd get HP Fighting, so Conversion 2 could turn Smeargle into Ghost. Maybe you can just change the IVs to 30 and the problem would be fixed.

Oh, actually no, that would cause another problem, since HP Fighting would be super effective on Smeargle lol, so there'd have to be another line of ?? for that. You could do another Hidden Power I guess, but just need more detailed IVs instead of all 31 or 30.

EDIT: Okay, I made another one. Hopefully I didn't make any mistakes, even though so far every time I say that I make at least one somewhere. *sigh* O well.

Turn 1:
Player 1 sent out X.
Player 2 sent out Y.
???
X used Fake Out!
Y lost 50%.
X lost 10%.
Y used Silver Wind! It's a critical hit!
It's super effective!
X lost 68%.

Turn 2:
X used Ice Punch!
Y fainted.
X lost 10%.

Turn 3:
Player 2 sent out Z.
Z used A.
X fainted.

Turn 4:
Player 1 sent out Suicune!
Suicune's exerting pressure.
Suicune used B.
It does not affect Z.
Z used A.
Suicune lost 17%.

Turn 5:
Suicune used Rest.
Suicune became healthy and fell asleep.
Z used A. It's a critical hit!
Suicune lost 95%.

X is obviously holding Life Orb. The other pokemon are not holding any items. All level 100, no EVs, neutral nature, perfect IVs. Also B can be one of 2 moves. Either is fine, but the rest should only have one answer, unless of course I made a mistake. For the turns that say something fainted, I didn't say how many % they lost. Hopefully that's ok. Turn 3 will probably make people wonder what in the world's going on, so I'll just say, just ignore any concerns you may have about that turn, as an explanation for it isn't hard to make up.

This might be a lay-up for you hard-working problem solvers, but I thought I'd give it a try.

This assumes no items, all pokemon at lv 100, no EVs and all 31 EVs, with neutral natures.

Player 1 switched in Lugia
Player 2 switched in X
Lugia is exerting its Pressure!

Lugia used Shadow Ball!
It's not very effective....
X lost 13% of it's health!
X used Crunch!
It's a critical hit!
It's super effective!
Lugia lost 100% of its health!
Lugia fainted!

Player 1 switched in Y
Y used A!
X used Ice Fang!
It's not very effective...
Y lost 17% of its health!

Y used B!
It's super effective!
X lost 99% of its health!
X used Crunch!
It's super effective!
Y lost 83% of its health!
Y fainted.

X = Tyranitar
Y = Slowking
B = Surf / Brick Break
A = Nasty Plot / Trick Room

edit: woah wait, slowking and slowbro wont otuspeed tar. now im stumped

edit 2, ok im doing calcs on this but:

X = Drapion / Tyranitar*
Y = Jynx
A = Blizzard / Ice Beam / *Focus Blast
B = Calm Mind / Rest*

* if ttar is pokemon X

Actually, I'm not sure if it is Slowbro/king because whatever it was outsped Tyranitar.

Plus there was no message after A.

is that no message referring to a move failing or just left hidden for us to decipher? if so, i like jynx doing a calm mind for that spot, and in this case, a calm mind focus blast on ttar could also be an answer?

i wouldnt think its starmie, how is it managing 99% on ttar, especially since it has no boosting moves? what move could B be then? I have rest as a potential answer, it seems like it could possibly work.

actually i like drapion, as a critical hit Sniper Crunch would easily OHKO Lugia.

edit: ok with any luck this is the answer (i need to back it up with calcs though)

Player 1 switched in Lugia
Player 2 switched in Drapion
Lugia is exerting its Pressure!

Lugia used Shadow Ball!
It's not very effective....
Drapion lost 13% of it's health!
Drapion used Crunch!
It's a critical hit!
It's super effective!
Lugia lost 100% of its health!
Lugia fainted!

Player 1 switched in Jynx
Jynx used Rest!
Drapion used Ice Fang!
It's not very effective...
Jynx lost 17% of its health!

Jynx used Blizzard!
It's super effective!
Drapion lost 99% of its health!
Drapion used Crunch!
It's super effective!
Jynx lost 83% of its health!
Jynx fainted.

The lack of a message after A is just that, no message. I haven't omitted anything there.

Edit: an excellent try, but Jynx does only 77.94% max to Drapion with Blizzard.

Drapion isn't weak to Blizzard though...

Although it might not have to be Blizzard, but HP Ground is the only way Jynx is hitting Drapion super effectively.

I have an answer, but it requires a message after move A.

Player 1 switched in Lugia
Player 2 switched in Drapion

Drapion lost 13% of it's health!

Player 1 switched in Jynx!

Jynx lost 17% of its health!

Jynx used Psychic!
It's super effective!
Drapion lost 99% of its health!
Drapion used Crunch!
It's super effective!
Jynx lost 83% of its health!

Turn 1:
Player 1 sent out X.
Player 2 sent out Y.

Y lost 25%.
X lost 10%.
Y used Silver Wind! It's a critical hit!

X lost 68%.

Turn 2:

Y fainted.
X lost 10%.

Turn 3:
Player 2 sent out Z.

Turn 4:
Player 1 sent out Suicune!

Suicune used B.

Z used A.
Suicune lost 17%.

Turn 5:
Suicune used Rest.
Suicune became healthy and fell asleep.
Z used A. It's a critical hit!
Suicune lost 95%.

I think i got some of this.

X = Jynx
Y = Dustox

I'll edit in the other stuff, if i ever figure it out.

alright, any chance of it being (for reachzeros)

X = Tyranitar
Y = Jynx
B = Focus Blast
A = Rest

i like totalpotatos answer but if nothing isnt being ommited, it cant be right :<

I can't think of any attack that doesn't do damage and doesn't give some sort of message afterwards. kd24, Rest still has the "Jynx fell asleep" message after it. Are you sure you haven't omitted a line of ??? reach :P or am I totally missing the mark?

EDIT: @ kd24

Jynx used Rest.
Jynx's HP is full!

@ Chinese Dood

X = Weavile
??? = Weavile exerted its pressure!
Y = Dustox
B = Extrasensory
Z = Drapion

I have no idea what A is, because Drapion's Sniper Crit STAB Poison Jab does a max of 74% on Suicune, and Drapion's STAB Poison Jab under Reflect only does a max of 13 :S
