so is mariland going to be at King of Prussia as well?

and also, does anyone want to have a VGC style battle over Wifi? i know i probobly shouldnt be asking here but i cant seem to get a battle anywhere!

what's too slow?

When I first started testing my team on PBR a few days ago, I was running 2 starters with speeds of 170 and 166. I only got to try it like 30 times, but 99% of the time I outsped them (except for like speedy Dugtrios and such) It worked great, but I consistently fell to Dragon types (just not beefy enough against their typing) so I switched my 170 starter for a 161 starter with dragon pulse and re-EVd my other starter to 160 so my general strategy wouldnt have to change, I'd just get Dragon protection at the price of 9 and 5 Speed Points respectively. Hooray for Dragon slaying! However, NOW it seems like I'M the one getting outsped 75% of the time by pokes that DO NOT have choice scarfs. This makes my strat basically USELESS!

Question is, is 161/160 reeeeeeally too slow for competitive pokes, or is my being outsped just due to flukes/hacks on PBR/ a random influx of dugtrios and Weaviles and whatnot?

I can still eeeeeeasily retrain and go back to the way it was (I got dragon pulse on another 2 pokes now anyway, the 161 poke just sounded better than rhe 170).

It just seems like 161 can't be THAT slow!!! I've pretty much got the speed list memorized from like arcanine up and my pokes all have max speed IVs Natures, and EVs. This just isn't making sense to me?

Again, is 161 and 160 reeeeally that slow for the VGCs and in general for competitive play?

crap. had my speed rankings wrong :/ guess I'll go back to the 170 and 166 starters :/
 
last count I had for Philadelphia was 20 at least. Now 21, 22. Hopefully the best of us can get in and compete at least.
 
For those looking out for me, I'm usually easy to find since I'm tall with a greying goatee and usually stick out in a crowd. I may or may not wear a baseball cap like I did last year as seen in my NY warstory topic. Also my real name is not Evan as seen here. Unless BlueCookies, Silv, Kindnugs or last year's winner Bonta-Kun have changed appearances since last year's Showdown, I may not necessarily look out for you folks, so please don't hesitate to introduce yourselves to me and don't forget to say you're from Smogon at least.
 
I don't know if this is the place for it or not, so, I was wondering if any one had the Metagross(BlakChrome) I need it for my team, and I was also wondering what is a good special attacker/supporter?
 
I might also be attending this event, if i can finish my team fast enough. I think smogon should make t-shirts and put them on sale for stuff like this.

Well, I'll be there pretty early, around 7ish, just to make sure I have a spot.
Though this is my first time being in the VGC's. I'm very excited/nervous. So many Smogon-ers are going to Philly.

I hired a Graphic Artist and he made some pretty cool shirt designs, my favorite one is my Ancient Mew type drawing of Arceus. I would be willing to donate it to be on shirts.

But if anyone wants to be cool and talk to my brother, that would be nice 8D
He should be wearing the Worlds Tshirt from last year, and he's asian.
 
I will probably at least wear a white t-shirt with bluejean shorts like I did last year along with a carrying bag from Six Flags.

I'll be sure to look out for him, though I'm sure I'd need more then that description, haha.
For everyone else interested in meeting/chatting with me, I'll be wearing a Blue/Green Enjoi shirt. [Shirt with a Panda on it]
 
Heh, he's not so tall, he's asian, wearing the worlds t-shirt, probably will hang around another taller Asian kid (his friend.)
Oh and look for the name Audicia on the battle screens; that's his (really mine) in game name.
 
I'm avoiding to bring anybody with me except for my son as the last thing I want is to have to stay around if others get chosen and I don't. Unless there are things to do, my son was considering to find any local yugioh tournament in the area so he wouldn't be bored.
