I just watched PKMN Sunday on youtube, and I had to listen really hard for this because the stupid idiot presenters wouldn't effing shut the eff up but I can tell that the battle music to ho-oh and lugia is and is going to be effffffing epic! :D

BTW I actually quite like ho-oh's sprite <_< He is so big there isn't a lot of space to fit him on the screan with those whopping big wings of his! Thats why he almost always has the same sprite coz he won't fit :s. Anyway, I think this is still an improvement. I mean, what was everyone expecting!? Sunlight to shine from its bottem!? And fire works to set off from underneath his effing wings!? >_<

I haven't bought Platinum but I'm definately going to buy this.
Then I'll start with a cyndaquil and make sure he has at least 3 Fire moves when I fight the Pokémon league. Nostalgia > competitive

This also means they'll finally make new artworks for the 2nd gen pokémon. The first gen got new artworks that fit the art of the 3rd and 4th gen, but 2nd didn't untill now.

Damn, I don't see a "do you want to record this battle?" message after it finishes. It would really suck if the Battle Recorder was Platinum-only, especially if they fix the weather glitch in HG/SS.

I'm here with new speculation.

It was apparent that things like cinnabar island, and unknown dungeon were cut due to lack of space on the gbc cartridge.

In HG/SS will these two places be back? As opposed to collapsed and erupted?

My guess is yes, because mewtwo is in the game. Mewtwo was created by scientists in the cinnabar mansion, and caught in the unknown dungeon.

What do you guys think?
We don't actually know if Mewtwo is in the game or not. That is a rumor (along with the Lati twins being in, and Lugia and Ho-oh having some new ability in the games) that was never confirmed.

Anyway, not really certain on this myself; it could still go either way.

I think the progression of Kanto is part of the storyline and they may not even change it, but they might add to it (Sevii/Orange Islands ^_^).

Eh, don't think that's too likely. HG/SS would be taking place after FR/LG. So, the computer systems on the Sevii Islands wold be all fixed up, and also able to trade with Hoenn, so there wouldn't actually be much to do there, less they repeat the same plot line. Plus, since the Sevii Islands really are a part of Kanto, including them would unbalance the game more in focus of Kanto and since Johto is the actual primary region of the game, that would really be no good. Such stuff is better left to Fire Red and Leaf Green and thus why it was put there. Thus, they're not that likely to be included. The game designers would be much more likely to go with something more fresh and interesting if they were to add something.

As for the Orange Islands... Those will never be included. Those were anime filler, plain and simple. They were composed of "filler of the day"-type islands and gym-battles that would basically be mini-games in-game and have nothing to do with how you actually raised your Pokemon. They just don't fit with the typical main Pokemon-games, at least not enough to include an entire region for them. Plus, sixteen badges is really enough, and it is kind of nice for the anime to actually have something to call its own, and not be forced into a game.

All in all, the reinclusion of things such as the Safari Zone, Cerulean Cave, and Cinnabar strikes me as more likely then either of those Archipelagos showing up. Though, I wouldn't be surprised if the game developers included some new island-archipelago in Johto or some such thing there similar to the Sevii Islands to lengthen the Johto-side of the story (which, since these games are primarily based around Johto and it being a region exclusive to these games, would strike me as much more interesting and appealing than lopping some more stuff over at the Kanto end).

Look at the beginning of the video I posted. -.-

Sorry if I still can't see your point, but...

- The battle beings with the trainers lined up, as if they were in the Wireless Club.
- Then the trainer pair's three pokémon are combined
- Regular Battle intro saying their names pop up, and the battle begins.

... Honestly, I still only see it as a Wireless Battle, or am I missing something that I keep overlooking in the vid?

For what it's worth, I only saw it as a wireless battle too. Your first point is a big indicator of that.

yeah that looked like a wireless battle to me, but if it is a wifi battle then it means wifi multibattles, and somehow you going into the little room with your opponent over wifi, which would mean being able to take 6 pokemon into a game a choose 4 for all of you vgc'ers

Why exactly would it be a Wi-Fi battle? And we know from the video that at least both girls were together, we just can't hear the male trainers' players.
