Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

About the delay question, you can get 596. You just have to tap faster. I aim for 595 on my plat so it should be possible for you. I have gotten 593 before so I don't see why you can't get 596. Ok, thanks, otherwise I need to do about 3000 taps more...

Also, I think you need to do it in the morning time then. That would be my guess. Again, thanks, but I forgot about the NPCs so I bred one =)

Hey guys I've something new to report. I know this may sound useless, but that's why I was getting frame 3159 instead of 3152 while I was RNG abusing for Zapdos.
When the date changes the frame advances by 7
I've just tested it sweet scenting in water and I got frame 10 while it should have been 3.

So when the DS transitions from 23:59:59 to 00:00:00 7 calls are made to the RNG?

@mingot: yes, it only matters while you're playing, you can't use this at your advantage. This is just something to remember so everyone does his/her flips and battle the pokemon before the date changes.

or you could, if you have a time that might cause this, plan ahead and advance it 7 less. Then you don't have to worry about it and can wait for the date to change.

How do you change your date in the middle of playing? Or?
I change right after I check, so I get the wondercard poké, sweet scent, save the game, close NO$GBA, then I check the info I need (9/10 times I check twice), then change the time, and then I start NO$GBA.

So I've been able to get the spreads I wanted while Breeding, and I've been able to get shinies, now I am aiming towards wild Pokemon. I apologize if my questions have been addressed already but I tried to go through some of the previous posts in order to prevent repeat questions.

So I want to catch a Gastly in the Old Chateau. However, is this possible to do? Or would I just have to get lucky? Unfortunately, you can't sweet scent for Pokemon in the building. I would also like to add I have not attempted to RNG abuse for wild Pokemon yet so this is still new to me.

You can sweet scent in the Old Chateau, just make sure you aren't standing at the entrance. There are no random encounters programmed there.

Newbie calibration question time.

Noting this is Diamond, no GBA game inserted. My usual min Delay is like 720, 12.7 seconds or so.

Alright, from what I understand, during the calibration we are aiming for a constatnt Seconds and Delay time. My seconds stay the same, but my Delay jumps all around. Anybody care to take a look and help me figure out how to stabalize it?

That's actually pretty good Vash. Besides the 636, everything is within a range of ten. You can't get much better than that.

I find Platinum much more "stable" than Diamond, with me being able to get my range of delays much tighter on the former. Frames changing is just bad luck, just try to make sure you have a "good" save by ensuring the NPCs wont move as soon as you start the game. I know this might not make a difference, since there are loads of NPCs you cant see, and other things, but it gives me more of a piece of mind when I'm resetting.
I have been doing it since the begining but lately it just doesn't work! Oh well! Il guess il have to try again...damn I tought Plat. would be broken in the frame section, when I calibrate, everything seem to go well but it's just when I get the egg I screw by 1 frame...oh well XD

I guess there is no other way! Tks.

Oh yeah does the moving Buneary and Pachirisu affect your frame?
I think it would bu odly enough, I had a frame of 1 a couple of time while Buneary was moving and im asking, how is that possible? =o

Vash, you aren't going to narrow down the delay to one or two values. If you have it within a range of 10-15, you can generally work with it. Yours is 620-636, so you should be fine.

Test 101: the NPC-frame thing only applies to random NPC's. Buneary is not random.

Oh random, so NPC's with the constant same mouvement don't count. Hmmm...

@loedoc and Bearsfan: Ahh, really? I was going over my results with somebody on AIM and they said they consistantly hit the same delay # for the catch a few times in a row. My most common was 628, so I got concerned.

I assume it's safe to move onto the next step then? Unless MY startgame to gameworld delay is going to be a problem, which I usually get 720min (meaning that 620ish is unreashable) or do those numbers have nothing to do with each other?

As long as you can get a fairly consistent delay number, you should be fine Vash. From what I saw in your earlier post, it seems like it's 620-636, which is pretty reasonable right now. As you get used to it, you can usually get a better feel for it, and you usually devolope a pretty consistent tap speed, bringing you into a smaller range of delays, like the person you were talking to was.

I gotta say Vash, what the hell are you talking about? :P

Just use the numbers you got.
Well, from the OP, it says to count the seconds from when the game first turns on until you get to "gameworld" (I used the online stopwatch), and that is your delay or something. Then right below that, it says to Synch your clock, soft-reset at the next minute, and catch a pokemon and get a different delay, which are what I posted.'

...Maybe I just shouldn't be doing this when I have such horrible news, but ignore this comment.

The delay starts when the white screen goes away. That's why you have it higher than it should be. Use the delay RNG reporter gives you and know the fact that when you SR at 0 seconds you get whatever seconds.
