Is the tier LIMBO too strong for UU but not BL/OU, I'm not sure.

Limbo is simply the placeholder for pokémon who have yet to be placed into a tier. Any Suspects being tested for OU or UU play will be in that placeholding tier, until the Suspect's banned to the appropriate banlist, or settled into OU/UU.

Hi,

Does Mold Breaker negate the effects of Dry Skin if the attacking Pokémon uses a Fire move?

In the description, it is written that Mold Breaker nullifies the opponent's ability if this ability would "hinder the effects of the move" that's about to be used. It is also written that Dry Skin is amongst the abilities that are nullified by Mold Breaker.
However, If a Mold Breaker Pokémon attacks a Dry Skin Pokémon with a Fire attack, the attack will do 125% of damage - that's not really hinderance. Is Dry Skin nullified anyway?

Read the last sentence of the description.

If this Pokémon attacks and the target's ability would prevent the effects of the attack from taking place, or hinder the effects of the move, the ability is temporarily nullified while the attack is in progress. Abilities nullified are: Battle Armor, Clear Body, Damp, Dry Skin, Filter, Flash Fire, Flower Gift, Heatproof, Hyper Cutter, Immunity, Inner Focus, Insomnia, Keen Eye, Leaf Guard, Levitate, Lightningrod, Limber, Magma Armor, Marvel Scale, Motor Drive, Oblivious, Own Tempo, Sand Veil, Shell Armor, Shield Dust, Simple, Snow Cloak, Solid Rock, Soundproof, Sticky Hold, Storm Drain, Sturdy, Suction Cups, Tangled Feet, Thick Fat, Unaware, Vital Spirit, Volt Absorb, Water Absorb, Water Veil, White Smoke, Wonder Guard. Dry Skin's increase in damage when hit by a Fire move is also ignored.

Whoops sorry. BTW, your calculator uses the formula for Heatproof when calculating the Dry Skin modifier, unless I changed it by accident.

Anyway thanks :)

All I can assume is that the extra Sp. Defense would make switching into Fire moves a lot easier, since you're obviously not going to try switching into EQs. Sorry if I'm not that much help on that subject. ;^^

well I'm assuming the level is 100

this is what 107 SpA does...I think

100 x 2 = 200
200 / 5 = 40, + 2 = 42
42 x 95 = 3990
3990 x 107 = 426930
426930 / 50 = 8538
8538 / 147 = 58, + 2 = 60
60 x 4 = 240
240 / 243 = 98.8% (max damage)

60 x 85 = 5100
5100 / 100 = 51
51 x 4 = 204
204 / 243 = 83.95% (min damage)

well that's what I get

I'm guessing you're using a lower level pokemon, because again, this calc is based on your attacking pokemon being level 100
Oh, I didn't know that level was a component in the damage formula... I thought it was all about stats (plus typing, stat boosts/drops, etc), and the level would only come in to play to calculate the stat if you were using IVs and EVs instead of giving the stat number itself. Thanks.

Does anyone know if Beat Up, if at Full Strength(6 Hits), works like a Swipe-Attack?
Does it break through Subs, and hits the Pokemon, or does it keep hitting the Sub, and stops there?

I have a few questions as this is my first post on Smogon ever. Thanks in advance for the help! =)

First off, I just recently got into platinum and wanting to wifi battle. Because of this I bought a DSi rather than a Lite (I thought it would be better to pay the extra 30 or so for the latest model). Now, because I have a DSi, and AR doesn't work for it, I am wondering will I be at a severe disadvantage because I cannot use an AR for the countless things it is useful for? (the legal stuff, I don't want to straight up hack pokemon)

Also, I recently heard about the SiD thing used for RNG abuse and getting flawless/shinies. Is there no other way to find it without an AR or catching a random shiny?

Lastly, I was wondering how I should go about using TMs I only get once, I.E. something important like stealth rock. I was thinking I might be able to let a Smeargle sketch it and then try to pass it on as an egg move to whoever I want, but I'm not sure if this is the best course of action.

Thanks for taking time to read through this monstrosity, I truely appreciate your help. =]

Strealine, you might wanna try posting for help with RNG abuse in the Wifi subforum. You'll get a lot more people who know about it looking there than you will here.

Thank you Xia. ^_^ I'm sorry I didn't respond earlier, Xbox Live is consuming my life :toast:

You can get flawless IV Pokemon easily without knowing your Secret ID. It is only required for shinies, but if you want shinies, you can use chained shinies to calculate your Secret ID. As for 1 time use TMs, yeah breeding is probably a good way to conserve TMs, but the best way would just be to trade for what you need or trying the GTS clone glitch.

Hmm... I was playing Platinum yesterday and I was in the Battle Hall. I was using my Azelf which happened to know Explosion, so I thought that I could easily use Explosion on everything and win. When I tried this, I lost instead of advancing to the next round.

The weird thing is, on Shoddy, if you have one Pokemon left against your opponent's last Pokemon and you use Explosion, you win.

My question is, which one is it supposed to be? Are you supposed to win, or lose?

I haven't played in the UU tier in a long while and would like to ask the question: What's changed, which pokemon are top ranked, and top threats?

Question about EV training here.

So, at level 100, 4 EV's = 1 stat point.

What about level 50? Would it be 8 EV's = 1 stat point? This is relevant because of the level cap at 50 in the recent tournaments. I think. I assume this also applies to the Battle Frontier in Sinnoh, where Pokes above 50 are brought down to level 50.

I don't think this has been covered in the guides that I've looked through. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks!

EVs are consistent, no matter what level you are at. 4 EVs will always translate into 1 stat point. "The Box Trick" is typically used to EV Train Pokemon at level 50 so that they are allowed to enter VGC tournaments.

Ideal nature for Gliscor.. Jolly? I've been seeing a lot of sets with that than with Impish.

Jolly is used mainly to outspeed Lucario so it can safely switch in without getting hit with Ice Punch or HP Ice. Also useful for outspeeding Heatran, Dragonite, Gyarados, neutral base 100s (Zapdos, Salamence and Jirachi), all of which fear Earthquake or Stone Edge / Ice Fang. This is of course assuming they aren't holding a Scarf or have a DD up.

Hi, I'm using RNG for the first time, and when I put in the seed for HP Grass to get the time, it's giving me an exact delay that I need to have. I haven't mastered hitting a single consistent time yet, so my question is, do I have a little leeway when resetting, or do I have to hit that exact number?
