HELP D=

Soft Resetting For Your Final Result

Data from the initial Calibration Phase are:

Seconds: 15
Delays: 600-610

Frame from the frame Calibration Phase is:

Frame: 6

Parents IVs:
B: 31 / 31 / 31 / x / 31 / 31
A: 31 / 31 / 31 / x / 31 / x

Baby's desired IVs: 31 / 31 / 31 / x / 31 / 31

Year: 2009
Month: April (4)

Using the time finder, we first searched for results on Frame 6, 8, 10, and 12 before finally finding a suitable target frame and target time:

SEED: 710F026A
DATE: 2009/04/24
TIME: 15:02:15
DELAY: 609
FRAME: 12
SPREAD: A/A/A/20/31/31

This spread should give us a baby with IVs 31 / 31 / 31 / 20 / 31 / 31.

Right click on this frame and select "Generate Adjacent Results". This will bring up a list of results that are close by to make it easier to find where you actually landed when you get an egg and save you the trouble of having to capture another Pokémon to make this determination. (im all ok until the next part)

1. Begin your cycle of soft resetting, remembering to set the clock on your DS each and every time so that the time when you "Continue" (your target time) exactly matches what was generated by the time finder > ?
^
l ____> I dont get this part. i also have difficulty hitting my target time and frame =(

2. Flip to a page where it says captured/defeated [Pokémon]. Do this three times to advance the frame from 6 to 12. No more, no less. Do not count the journal's initial appearance as a page flip. Each flip to a page with captured/defeated advances the frame by 2, so adjust accordingly based on your calibration frame and your target frame. (when you start at a page that says captured or defeated pokemon, how much is the frame? im guessing 2?)

3. Close the journal and collect your egg as quickly as possible.

4. Find you location (seconds, delay, and frame) in the list of Adjacent results based on the IVs of the egg. Please note that you may right click in the list of adjacent results and output the entire list to a CSV file. This file can be opened in notepad or as a spreadsheet, which may make it easier to search. <--- I never get a match =(

To quickly disqualify resets where either your target time or delay were incorrect you may either immediately capture a Pokémon and check it's initial seed or use the coin flip trick noted in the "Common information for Breeding and Capturing Perfect Pokémon" section. If you are using the coin flip trick you may wish to output your adjacent results to CSV to make it easier to search. <--- I dont get it =(

6. If the baby in the egg doesn't have the desired IVs repeat steps 1-5.

upto this point i get what i am supposed to do to breed the perfect pokemon. the problem is though, i dont really understand what i am supposed to be doing. ive wrote in the quote and colored so i can explain clearly what my problem is...

What don't you get? If you don't understand what the term target time means check out the common information section. It's a key concept. "Continue" is the act of pressing the A button on the continue screen (the screen where it shows how many hours you have in game, etc).

2. Flip to a page where it says captured/defeated [Pokémon]. Do this three times to advance the frame from 6 to 12. No more, no less. Do not count the journal's initial appearance as a page flip. You don't need to be concerned with it, as that value is "built in" to your frame when you do frame calibration. Yes, it advanced it, but it also advanced it every time you calibrated for frame.

3. Close the journal and collect your egg as quickly as possible.

The use the information before to find out what you did get:

When you generate breeding frames in the time finder, right click on the list of frames. Select generate adjacent results.

ok i have pretty much understood the procedure to catch perfect legendaries. i am upto the part where i have to find out the number of page flips i need to do and the coin flip trick. all i need to do is plug in the information now and ill have my number of rng advancements needed. my question is that how do i find my monster? (im pretty sure i have to catch a wild pokemon without advancing the rng and entering its info on rng reprter correct?)

EDIT: oh and one more thing. when you are about to go do the journal flips, if the journal opens up to a page where it says captured/ defeated pokemon, does that count as a flip?

Man i just hit a seed that looked like my target seed. The first ten coin flips matched but the 11 th one did not, good thing it wasn't a shit load of journal flips.

Am I the only person that has trouble getting a consistent on a DS light?

I mean I cant stick a delay AT ALL. i got from everything from 596 - 610 only hitting 604 twice.

I popped the game back in my fat DS.This is the DS I started rng abusing with in the first place.I hit my seconds(14) and delay(600) on point twice in a row Lol. Its most likely just me.

Ok guys, seriously. Getting in a range of ten or something is normal. Most people will not be able to hit an exact delay on demand whenever you feel like it. Sohofalco, those delays are fine, and as you do more RNG abuse, you'll get better. Honestly, during my last calibration attempt, I got delays with ranges of 30. That's a lot more than 14. So those delays are fine, just don't stress if you can't hit a certain delay all the time. That's normal, and you're not alone.

Alsabino: You have to use sweet scent. In regards to your second question, yes it does count as a flip.

hmm k

i am in the frame calibration phase, but right now i have one imp question to ask:
When hatching egg after egg from the daycare man, to get the preferred nature is use of an everstone on one of the parents allowed?

Coz I really want my Jolly Sneasel :(

Everstone only affects natures, so this is acceptable. It has no effect on IV's whatsoever.

ohk thanks.

After a more thourough reading of the article, i realised that by then we are only resetting for iv's, and the nature part is just like a base to work on.

I apologize if this has been asked before, but do you all predict that we'll be able to crack HG/SS's RNG? I'm very frustrated SRing for legends in Emerald (just can't get that RNG to work for me without Synchronize... thanks a lot, whoever chose not to program Synchronize to work with 3rd gen method 1 Pokémon) and am really hoping that HG/SS will give me an easier time, as I can usually hit my target delay within the first few tries in D/P/Pt.

Is anyone here planning on researching HG/SS's RNG on a Japanese game when it comes out?

Yea it should be able to get cracked. At the beginning, we can always just abuse it like people currently do for FR/LG games using save states. I predict the major changes will be how the seed is created and an adjustment to method J possibly. Also breeding maybe, but that's it probably. I know several people will be trying to do it.

Yeah... since there's no Pokétch (although we will have Pokégear), that of course means no Coin Flip and Happiness Checker apps, and we know nothing of any sort of Journal at this point; therefore, there will have to be different means of changing the frame for wild encounters and the IRNG for eggs. Hopefully it won't be too difficult to figure out and abuse.

EDIT: Mingot's right. I didn't mean to get too off topic... just wondering if, from what we know from previous RNG algorithms in Pokémon, particularly from 4th gen, if you all expect HG/SS to have one we can crack.

There is really not a whole lot of point in talking about it right now because we have no idea how it is going to act. Could be a completely different RNG. Everything could end up using the IRNG (no way to get an initial seed from that, really) or any number of things. Let's wait until we actually have the game.

EDIT: Hard information like lack of poketch apps, etc is welcome here, though.

lets say you are rng'ing for a shiny pokemon. when you have done all that happiness taps and coin flips, and put the two pokemon in the daycare, can you go straight into the rng steps for perfect pokemon?

one more question lol
when you are sr'ing for your final result is it necessary for the journal to appear when you enter the game world?

Just need someone to check my math sort of
Frame 237

237-1(Azelfs Frame)-1(# of roamers) = 235
Walk 128 steps with 5 pokemon = 230
230/2 = 115 Journal Flips
But I somehow end up 5 frames short of my target, happened a couple of times already
