Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Hey I was wondering if anyone could help me catch a bold Cresselia. I checked the target time and delay with the coin flips and they matched up. The target fram was 1718 - 3 (wandering pokemon) - 5 (Cresselia's frame #)/2 which was 855 journal flips. I did the journal flips, talked to Cresselia, and caught it after running into Articuno. The game was saved in front of cresselia and never flipped to the happiness checker or was in a weather zone.
So I'm wondering if Cresselia counts as a wandering pokemon, even though its not wandering when you advance the frame/rng or if it says "Got magikarp from ___" (a pokemon obtained in a trade) in the journal that the rng is advanced by 2. Or if I messed up the journal flips/did something else wrong. Thanks in advanced.

That would be awsome :) I just managed to RNG abuse my first flawless pokémon (yey:heart: thanks for your awsome vid!), but the delays could still be problem to me. I seam to get more even delays thought, when I tried to hit my target I only manage to get 611 delay one time, the rest was even.
 
Question:
I'm trying to fish an Impish Magikarp

Im going for frame 473 since there is an encounter with Good Rod

So basically Im doing this:

473 - 4 (starting Frames)
then 459 - 1 (turn around) = 458 = 234 flips

Then i threw the rod but i only get a "not even a nible"

Whats happening :[?

I don't think so. Try turning, not turning around instead. Also, try fishing again until you battle a poke and catch it. That way you can find out how much you were off.

Just one question:
In the encounter slot it says that only with good rod, so if i try with old rod it will fail, right?
 
Wait, actually i think that this is altering my frames

- Wandering NPCs (Non-Player Characters) advance the RNG by 1 seed each time they move or turn. NPCs that move in a fixed pattern do not advance the RNG. All NPCs in a zone advance the RNG, even if they are not visible on the screen

I don't have visible NPCs on my screen but there is a guy in the zone <.<
 
Is fishing for the pokemon used to find the initial seed alright? Does it mess anything up?

For reference, to find my initial seed I use my super rod to fish in resort area, where high level 100% catch Magikarp are common, which helps since i dont have an AR

Yes, as a matter of fact, this is what a lot of people do.
 
Dark-Ryu, is that NPC a swimmer? Because those runners/swimmers mess up the frame like crazy, which would explain you drastic frame. To avoid that, try using the Vs. Seeker so he stops moving.

I changed the route and did it on route 218 next to jubilife city, but i think that the fishermans messed the frames, or am i wrong O.o?

Im doing it now in Verity Lakefront, I guess that in verity there are not NPC's or am i wrong?
 
No, there's no NPC's there as far as I'm aware of. Any NPC can mess up your frame, I just thought it was maybe the swimmer, because they tend to move fast. So, that would explain how you missed your frame by so much.

Also, whats the difference between DPPt Egg and Breeding DPPt ? As in what are each of the things used for?
I understand one has the IV's listing, and one has the nature column, but arent the IVs part the same as the Time Finder?
Or are they totally different?

You're much better off going to any of the lakes such as verity, valor or acuity where there's no NPCs. That's were I got most of my RNG fishings.

Ok, let me explain. When your egg is first created, it generates gender, ability, and shinyness. This is what DPPt egg is used to calculate. But, when you pick up your egg, the game determines the one thing that it didn't determine before- your egg's IV's. This is what Breeding DPPt is for. Breeding DPPt is sort of like Capturing. If you hit a capture spread and you collect your egg, it will still have some of the same IV's as if you captured a pokemon. The ones is doesn't have from that spread are the IV's it inherited from it's parents. Breeding DPPt calculates which IV's it inherits from it's parents, unlike Capture DPPt.
 
Hey, again, everyone! Here I am with more questions. Now, I know that the slot for the daily Pokemon in the Trophy Garden is 6, however, how does that help me to get that Pokemon? I'm playing Platinum and I'd like to get some perfect Dittos. How do I go about doing this?

IIRC cant you decide the IV's at lvl 5 if they are 30+ if you know their HP type??
 
VanHalen, just keep reseting in front of Mr.Backlot. Eventually he'll say Ditto, then you can RNG abuse like normal. Though chances are, there's a better way to get him to say Ditto, other then soft reseting.
 
Finally I'm seeing some results, well not expected results but still, so here's my question, if my delay range is 620-630 and i try to hit 623 for ex. is there any tip to hit it or is it just luck or something like 00:00:13:49 for 623 or 00:00:13:20 for 628 xD?

Are you implying we have an RNG abuse process for this? We don't.

Zerohorus: What? I have no idea what you're asking. 623 delay at one time and 628 at another? What?
 
Yeah for ex:
I want this frame and delay
Date*****Year**** Delay: 624 Frame: 10
But i fall in this.
Date*****Year**** Delay: 628 Frame: 10

So can I do something to avoid this or is it just that i have to keep resetting until i get luck? of course there are other 20 frames of this i can hit in the same time and Delay range and sec. etc
