Can someone tell me why on the Rotom-W Choice/Trick Set there are 4 Def EV's listed?

SET]
name: Offensive Choice
move 1: Thunderbolt
move 2: Shadow Ball
move 3: Hydro Pump
move 4: Trick
item: Choice Scarf / Choice Specs
nature: Timid / Modest
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 Def / 252 Spe

Whereas, on the the Rotom-H set the 4 EV's are listed in HP?

[SET]
name: Choice
move 1: Thunderbolt
move 2: Overheat
move 3: Hidden Power Ground / Shadow Ball
move 4: Trick
item: Choice Scarf / Choice Specs
nature: Modest / Timid
evs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe

Are there some important KO's that these EV's are protecting me from? Or can I ,say, put Rotom-W's four left over EV's into HP so I can switch forms freely and vis versa?

The leftover 4 EVs into HP makes any Pokemon's HP an even number, and therefore makes it loses slightly more HP when it switches in on Stealth Rock. If the HP number were odd, then it would lose less. You can read an article about it in the search box. It'll provide the mathematical reason behind it. The simple thing to remember is to make the Pokemon's HP an odd, and not an even. If the Pokemon were to hold Leftovers, then an even HP might be better off, whilst if the Pokemon were to hold Life Orb, then an odd HP would allow a few more turn of attack due to lesser damage taken from recoil.

EDIT: Here is an article to it:

P.S. The EV spreads on most analysis pages were not that fully proof-read, and may contain some mathematical and grammar errors. Some analysis were pretty outdated, but they'll get to them some day.

Is it possible to recycle Focus Sash? My friend was going to use a lvl 1 Smeargle with Sash. In theory he's going to sash a hit, leech seed the opponent to gain health, and recycle the sash. But I was under the impression that when you Sash activates, it's not "consumed." But he tells me that when the sash activates, it is consumed. He did something weird in a link battle and how lost it or whatever, but point is, is it possible to recycle Sash?

If I already caught the event Darkrai, but I want to rng abuse for another one, is it possible to release my darkrai and another one will appear on the island?

No. If you defeat it, it'll come back until you catch it, but once you catch it, you can't go back inside the house.

No, you can't recycle focus sash because it prevents a Pokemon from being OHKO'd. Therefore, to be viable a Pokemon would have to have recycle and a recovery move to get back to 100 % health.

It's level 1, and it uses leech seed. So assuming the Pokemon i Spored stays in for the leech, and i recycle, recovering to 100% hp, if i were to take another hit, sash would work again?

Regarding the respawning legendaries in Platinum, do they keep the same natures, IVs, etc. when a new one respawns?

For example: I find Zapdos and catch it. It has a Naughty nature, so I soft reset. I find that Zapdos again, but now I K.O it. I defeat the Elite 4 and Zapdos returns. I catch the Zapdos...will it be the same Naughty one or a completely new one?

Completely new one

Why do my chains sometimes end for what seems like no reason at all? I'm chaining Krabby, with a gengar in my first slot holding no item. I've gotten to 40 before but a few times now I'll just be chaining and everything will seem fine, only after fighting yet another Krabby afterward my chain will be gone.

It could be that you were too close to the edge, and the next set of patches were all outside the existing grass area (If that makes sense).

Diesel's Guide
is quite good at explaining the inner workings of chaining.

Does Substitute block Memento?

It is not mentioned in the Smogon movedex.

Edit- The pokemon using memento faints, but it has no effect.

I have a simple question about breeding

If I have two 6 IV parents and they have an egg with lets say 4 IVs.

Parent 1:31/31/31/31/31/31
Parent 2:31/31/31/31/31/31
Child 1: 31/31/31/31/0/0
Child 2: 31/31/0/0/31/31

Would it be better to breed the resulting children to get a 6 IV offspring or should I just keep breeding the parents to get perfect iv offspring?

I think the IVs of the offspring would be 1 from each parent, 1 from a random parent, and 3 random IVs. It's definitely best to keep using the first 2 parents.

Hi guys. I'm replaying FireRed, and I was looking for a good team. I need these move types on my team: grass psychic ghost electric fight ice water fire

to cover all of the gym leaders, elite four and trainers in the game with ease. I need them on my main team of six pokemon. Also, I'm going to need to fit all hm moves on those same pokemon. They are (for reference): cut flash roch smash fly surf strength waterfall

So can you guys guys please help me make this team? Either that, or can the nice people at smogon can give me their team that they used (preferably one that can hold all of the hms). Thanks in advance.
