Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

I'm sorry, but I'm back once again. I thought I had everything down, but I guess not!

I'm a little confused. I'm trying to get a shiny Pokemon. I used the Time Finder to search for a Shiny Pokemon with a Jolly nature and I found one on 08/15/09 at 11:30:14 with a delay of 640. I recorded the coin flips, the number of taps I need to do, and the amount of coin flips I need to do. I decided to record the coin flips for the surrounding delays in case I got it wrong. So I used the Seed Finder to find all of the coin flips for the delays between 632 to 650. However, when I landed on a delay of 644, my coin flips did not match. I was able to check by catching a Pokemon, and plugging the stats into the Seed Finder, so I'm positive I got a delay of 644.

Why is it that the coin flips don't match? Is it because I'm doing the Happiness Checker taps first? Am I looking in the wrong place for coin flips? Is there another method to determine them? Thanks!

Edit: So, I realized the Happiness Checker was messing with my coin flips. So now I have more questions. Does the order of doing flips and taps matter? I tried doing the coin flips to check my delay and I had the right delay. Then I did my taps and flipped away from the Happiness Checker ap, but my Pokemon wasn't shiny and had the wrong nature.

How do you can check if you're on the right frame than? Do you have to check the flip sequence before or after you collect the egg? And what about the journal flips?

The flip sequence only shows your delay.
Your initial frame can be different at a specific delay [Let's say you hit the delays 604, 606 and 608 and your egg initial frame is 6 on this delays. It's possible that, when you hit the delay 610, your initial frame become 5.] but it's uncommon.

I'm a little bit unclear about a part of the Egg RNG Abuse section. If I'm trying to hit my target frame/delay/time to get flawless IVs on my egg, can I collect the egg then do the coin flips to see if I got it right? Will NPCs moving affect my coin flips? I can't SR with my AR codes, so no fast hatch + IV check.

1. Yes - this is exactly what to do.
2. No, they won't get in the way.

The coin flips run off a separate RNG routine from the egg IVs and the moving NPCs, so the latter things won't affect your flips.

Im trying to hatch a shiny, but I always miss. I hatched two pokemon and I got the natures Bold followed by Impish. But nowhere near the spot I was targeting was there a bold followed by impish (i turned shiny only off to see other pokemon). Does this mean that my SID is wrong? because everything else seems to be right.

Where does the Mount Coronet [3F] in the Diamond Encounter Tables actually refer to?

I only ask because I'm pretty sure it's not the same Mount Coronet [3F] from Pokearth on serebii. Reason being I caught a golbat with the IVs I wanted there, but my spread's encounter slot was actually for machoke.

The RNG reporter doesn't seem to work properly with Windows Vista 32. For the initial seed finder it's missing the pokemon fields and there's no option to find the seed through Stats, just through IVs.

God this whole RNG manipulation thing is so furstrating. I hate it.

Did you download the latest version of RNG reporter? I have no clue why it would or wouldn't work.

Edit: About the part I bolded in your quote, I was referring to the RNG reporter software thread. Mingot is away at worlds for VGC and won't be on the threads much. He will probably notice your problem faster and be able to help you possibly if you post there about your problem.

Not sure if this should go here or the simple questions thread, but here goes.

I'm not sure if this question will be appropriate for the boards since it involves an AR code, but I think most RNG abusers use the IV check code anyways.

So, I have an AR code to check IVs for Platinum, and it works fine if I enable it on the AR main screen. However, I am currently in the calibration phase for RNG abuse, and I obviously need to SR several times so that I can attain an average delay time and what not. The problem is that the code does not work after SR. What should I do? Is there a different code I can ascertain? Is there a way to make the code permanent?

If anyone finds that this post needs to be moved or is not appropriate please let me know and I will take it down immediately.

Thanks.

Yes, I went to the link and clicked "download latest version".

Ah well. Not like I can ever figure out how to tell what frame I'm on anyway... I guess it's back to restarting constantly and hoping for good IVs for me I guess. :P

If I'm trying to catch a Gastly in the Old Chateau, that has a monster frame of 0, correct? Also, should I be Sweet Scenting this guy, yes?

I'm going through the frame calibration step right now and for some reason it refuses to work. I can't manage to get the same a frame more than once.

Everyone does something different it seems. I don't know if a video shows SRing with an AR or not.

What I do is synch my ds seconds with some form of clock, I use my pc time. Once it is synched, I enter the AR with game and turn on ds and wait at the Start menu. I picked a time when to hit start everytime and stick with it. I used 29, and got seconds that varied between 45 and 46, so what I did was go at 29.5 and I always get 46 now. I use the 46 seconds for everything I do.

So I could just click start from the AR screen at any second that I wanted to as long as I was consistent, correct?
