Defog clears the opponent's field of Light Screen, Reflect, Safeguard and hazard entry moves. But only their side. If they're revamping Defog's list, it's possible they will also change its effect to clear both sides (meaning we would have another move other than Rapid Spin to clear the field).
Platinum had 38, you know. Keep in mind that not all tutor moves are viable/new. Of the Platinum's 38, maybe about a quarter of them see any use competitively.
Ahh, yes, that would certainly change the metagame up, since ghost types could no longer block it.

Losing 50% of your health isn't really worth it, as a lot of pokemon can do 50% to it. I still think the CBer will be the most used variant, although there will certainly be successful UU team who are formed around Belly Drum Azumarill.
Yeah, no one learned Rapid Spin this time around by level-up or breeding.

I'm gonna keep my pants on with predictions, but so far it seems most changes are in the lower tiers (Aromatherapy Clefable, Nasty Plot Jynx, Nasty Plot Mismagius, Head Smash Aggron) just like with FRLG, Emerald and Platinum. I like the idea of an Ice Shard tutor.

Since they were absent in the bred moves my prediction is:
Baton Pass and Rapid Spin for Tutor moves.
I hope that happens, the metagame lacks extraordinary spinners.

I'm surprised people aren't as excited about Yawn Swampert as I am. He finally has a way to beat Azelf!
While there are a lot of priority attacks, barring Scyther(and Smeargle I suppose), none of them have Technician.

OK, while everyone is going on about OU and UU, Im going to discuss LC:
first of all
FUCK MAN NASTY PLOT MISDREAVUS.
This is like SubCM, but 10000000000000000000000x better. If you play LC, you know that this means that practically nothing can stop Misdreavus now, and its sure to be broken. Oh well, thats good :)

Suddenly, the oh so priority weak SubDDLiechiDile becomes a formidanble sweeper, as a 90 Power Priority move coming off a attack stat of 30+ is going to tear shit up.

Fuck yeah, awesome. My favourite crustacean will finally see some use ^____^

Die you Corphish nemesis. But in all seriousness, this could be a potent threat, seeing how it has above average defenses, protecting it from priority attacks getting in its way, while striking hard with STAB Crabhammer and I think Rock Slide. Return nicely rounds this off
Others dont stand out that much; Nosepass head Smash, Aron HS, etc. But IMO these will make a big impact on LC, and may change the common faces.
Oh well, fuck you Nintendo for ruining our happy little Metagame :)

i'm not so sure about that.
back when illegal sets weren't blocked on shoddy i would tear shit up with bellyjet azumarill, and i'm pretty bad at battling.
but the metagame has changed a lot so it could be different this time around. latias and maybe bulky gyara could check it, and it speed ties with tangrowth.
edit: if it gets ice shard then latias and tangrowth are goners.
Despite us being accustomed to priority being 90 base power(Scizor w/Technician Bullet Punch), after STAB, Aqua Jet is 60.
azelf might actually have to start carrying grass knot then as i'm sure swampert leads will soar with yawn in the mix
Yeah. Without set up, it is still a respectable 60.
Which means they must drop one of Psychic, Explosion, or Fire Blast.
