Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Ok sure. I have my birds left which I don't care about now. Also, if I do that, I can go back to the pokemart in sunnyshore city so I don't have any npcs walking at all. Thanks alot.

  • Delay range: 600-640
  • Seconds: 42
I allways have this results. Is it normal? 42 seconds :S

EDIT: My mistake. I put month 7 instead of 11 --,

I have another problem I dont understand the part of
Hitting your Target Time

Question... how do you guys know if you hit your frame right in GBA games, in the absurdly high frames in the millions and billions?

Is there something I need to find out? I mean, I could obviously use VBA and leave it on at max for a very long time before encountering, but I need to have some sort of sheet to do that do see how far I was off? Which doesn't seem to work for PokeRNG for me...

I have another problem I dont understand the part of
Hitting your Target Time

Your target time is the time you continue your game, to the nearest second. It is used, along with the date and delay, to generate the seed.

Omg this is so frustrating, my target delay is 772 and look at this:
750@1 THTHHHTHHH
752@2 HTTTHHHHTH
754@1 THHTTHHHHT
756
758@4 HHTTTTTHTH TTHTTTHHHH
760
762@1 TTHHHTHTHH
764@2
766@2
768@2 TTTTHTHTHH
770@1
772
774
776@2
778@1 HTTHHHHTTH
780
782@1 HTHHTTHTHH
784
786
788
790
792
794
796@1
798
800

772 is quite a long delay. How exactly are you trying to hit it?

There's generally an inverse relationship between delay and year. later years mean shorter delays. That's why you see people catching pokemon in years like 2082. Thus, unless you have chosen a year for some reason, I'd suggest you choose a later year so as to aim for a 758 delay.

For me, I hit my target delay twice in about 45 attempts. (First time I screwed up the frame advancement). There were some frustrating times, like hitting 600 delay 3 times in a row, then after changing years so that was my target, not seeing it again in over ten resets.

Shinymilotic, you seem to be too early the majority of the time, so maybe try subtracting a little from the delay you're using, maybe 4 or so, and see if that helps. cantab, emloop allows precise timing for longer delays.

Everytime I adjust my delay for wondercards, as fast I go the seconds keep going down six seconds from my target time. Why is that happening?

:EDIT:

NVM I need to recalibrate

I have to recalibrate for my wondercard. Couldn't I just use the time finder instead of the seed finder (which I used before using wichu) to get my seconds and delay?

:EDIT:

nvm I use the seed finder, but I've tried twice with different times, and the info I put into the find seed by stats or ivs won't display anything. I'm going out of my mind here wondering what I'm doing wrong.

ppl im having some trouble here with my totodile

my target is 2013/01/31 time: 10:06:14 with a delay of 602 frame of 14

i keep getting this delay 598 and a target of 14 why is this? why cant i get a the delay of 602?

Try slowing down your button presses D;
I'm not one to give any advice on this matter, but thats what seems to be the reasonable thing to do.
Good Luck!

You might be better off switching to four years later, that should mean hitting 598 delay gives the seed you want. And bear in mind hitting your delay will take several tries. (Also Murphy's Law says as soon as you change to 2017 you'll hit 602 delay three times in a row.)

Are you inputting all the data correctly?

Also, are you trying to do it with your Wondercard Pokemon? I don't think you can, it needs to be a wild Pokemon. Go to a route in the Battle Zone, preferably with a Sweet Scenter. (Or you can calibrate on a static legendary, but unless it's Dialga/Palkia or you have a Masterball it'll take too long to catch.)

JRT, you will need to scroll through and search using each nature. Because wondercard pokemon have random natures, it rarely actually match the nature the spread is supposed to have. There should be one nature that will turn up results for the seed that you hit, and should be close to your target. I'm pretty sure I told you this already :P

Well it seems emloop is working for me. Now on to the little problem. I'm going for a delay of 640 with my target time of 20:31:58. Thing is, I keep getting a delay of 618. So if I change just the year on the reporter/clock to a delay of 618, and leave everything alone in emloop, shouldn't I be ok with that?

I'm trying to capture a Scyther. I feel like I know enough to attempt the RNG, but still don't understand how I am suppose to get the correct Pokemon, since Scyther is very rare. I'll look through the guide again to make sure, but any help is appreciated.

So I don't put in the nature of the pokemon I get from the wondercard? Or can't I do calibration for it?

Do these delays make any sense to anybody here???

629
624
624
614
620
617

I'm saved in front of Giratina in turnback cave in Pearl. I used to RNG on my Pearl cart all the time, but have been using my plat for the past 2months or so. I used to get an insanely consistent delay of 620. Now it's all over the map?! Plus it keeps changing between even and odd. I didn't start recording them at first, but it was something like 621, 615, 628, 622?!

Little confused here. I RNG all the time, but this is kind of weird?! Is there something special about Giratina in Turnback cave??? I've been verifying the delays by checking the coinflips against the list generated by the seed to times adjacent finder.

So I don't put in the nature of the pokemon I get from the wondercard? Or can't I do calibration for it?
What you'll do is enter the stats or IVs of the poke, choose the first nature, and search. If it doesn't work, choose the next nature in the list and search. Repeat until your search returns a result. Eventually one of the natures listed (most likely not the one that your pokemon actually is) will show you the seed that you hit.
Edit: Or of course you could leave the mart and catch a pokemon and check it...I think that would tell you as well.

Edit: mattj, I've had that problem too, but only with Diamond. It would switch from even to odd delays for no reason, and have a much larger range of delays as well. I've never ever had a problem with either of my platinum game carts though. I know how frustrating it can be, because I could find no way of stabilizing it, so SRing for captures took me much longer than it usually did. When that happened I took a break from it and did stuff on my platinum. I came back to it after a while to use one of my shiny spreads, and it worked perfectly. I don't know what causes it, so all I can tell you is just keep trying :/

I'm using emloop with a target time of 20:56:11 and a delay of 640. Thing is, my second timer is 10.66, which does not give me enough time to get in the game. I checked my seed anyway and I got a time of 20:56:11 with a delay of 677. Is there anyway I can modify the second timer to give me a little bit more time to get in there without messing up my chance to get a delay of 640?

Well, if you don't have enough time, then search higher delays and you should be able to find your spread again with a higher delay (higher seconds) and lower frames. Then it shouldn't be an issue. I take it you're using Sephirona's method, which I myself am not familiar with, so I probably won't be able to help you much other than that.

RK, thanks for the advice.

Now for the love of pete can anybody tell me if there are wild pokemon in the room with giratina?!?!? I finally hit my seed *thankyousweetjesus* and am sitting here in front of giratina, but the frame I need is even. I need to know if I can just make a 3 simple turns to advance to an even frame again, and then continue with journal flips.

No that wasn't helping me, because when I first did my calibration, my button mashing was wierd so a delay of 602 isn't always easily obtainable. I do it sephirona's way, because my speed is always different and subtraction 602 from 640 won't help if I can't always hit 602. So I'm using Syberia. Though I really wanted the date for 2009, but there's nothing I can do about it, then I'll try 2010 and up.
