On the subject of the skarmbliss NBS server, I can't get it up 24/7 so don't freak out if it's not up mondays or wednesdays(the two days where I have heavy classes). I too have an education to finish up. :P Plus, I don't feel comfortable leaving my computer on during the day when I am away at classes. It has been up at least 5/7 days of the week(most of the day, usually from 11am pacific to 10 pm pacific) for at least the past few months so those who say it's not up are doing something wrong(today an exception obviously). :P
Though to be totally honest, you'd probably be better off not battling on it if you value highly accurate results; the creators are busy/lazy/whatever and won't release updates to fix some pretty big problems, the biggest one being that for doubles on the program, it's still on the ADV mechanics of the 3rd generation. Surf/Explosion/Earthquake are at 1.00 power instead of .75(so, it's 95 power or whatever against each opponent it hits instead of 71, making it way overpowered), while things like Blizzard/Heat Wave/Icy Wind/Rock Slide/etc are at .5 power instead of .75(so, Blizzard is 60 against each opponent instead of 90, making them underpowered). Sometimes this makes a big difference, since if you were pretty close to KOing somebody with Rock Slide, ingame it would have KOed but it didn't on NBS; you have to remember the disillusionment of the messed up move power.
Now, it's still great for team building, or if you're on a server, discussion, so don't just discard it right away because of the power glitches, it's still good for finding what bombs and what might have potential; just keep in mind the things that as of now don't accurately simulate the games 100%. I might try and see if I can make a NBS script that fixes this; I know I keep saying that, but I think over Thanksgiving I might actually have some time to delve into that.
