no to the last question the Pokemon changes and your calculation is correct but are you remembering to catch a poke and finding what frame its on, you have to catch one poke to know what frame your on then subtract the actual frame the poke is on from the number of advancements you have to do so your equation 320-10 (4 Patches) -6 (Monster Frame and Battling) -6is missing that factor that you should catch a poke to start the chain and then calculate your needed advancements using the equation outlined in the guide to get the desired frame.
 
Steve, I found that to be the case. If it's not the one you want, then try saving in a new spot it may change the patches and pokemon. Last time I tried though, I hit my spread over and over but no matter what frame I tried (I used at least 6 different ones) and where I saved in the grass I always found a bidoof rather than my target. And yeah, it is very easy to have random advances or advances from the 128 step counter, so make sure you know what frame you are actually hitting, then you can attempt to adjust your journal flips and steps/turns accordingly.

Edit: When I did this I was not starting a chain, rather hitting my frame with the first patch I walked into. I successfully used that method to catch a swinub previously, but it did not work at all during the attempt I describe above.

That's it. I forgot I had let Cresselia out so that I could have acces to Darkrai. Good thing my spread goes down by one when I remove the synchronizer :)

Alright well i dont think the 128 Steps is the case because the first time i tried without chaining to actually see if i could do it first i got the Spread i want but not the Pokemon, but i changed the Seed and now after 3 tries still havent gotten the Spread let alone the Pokemon X_x and i havent moved since then either so i think im just getting unlucky and its just randomly advancing X_x
 
I'm going after Zapdos and the spread I want is on frame 152. Since its monster frame is 6, this means that I should advance the frame to 146 (73 Journal flips with no roamers) before talking to Professor Oak, right?

it depends did you already capture the other birds if not then yes that's all you have to do

I haven't caught any of them.

On another note, if you DON'T have a Repel active with the level of your lead Pokémon between the maximum level that you could normally encounter and the level of a roamer currently on that route, what determines whether or not you will encounter the roamer? I didn't see anything about that in the encounter tables.
 
Sync won't help with Zapdos considering its generated when you speak to Oak and its a method 1 PID. Normally I just use the Valley Windworks and keep walking between the two zones there until the roamer is in the one I've entered. Even without repel the roamer is normally the 1st or 2nd wild encounter.
 
Just let me get this straight.
If my spreads are coming up in adjacent results,
and everything but delay is right,
am I doing everything right?
I have tried over 75 times to get flawless spread, and haven't yet.
Any idea's as to why?
Once again,

If the frame and time are right, you are very, very close to completion. You need only to get the delay right, and you will get your desired pokemon. If you seem to be getting even or odd delays and your target is the opposite, then insert a 3rd gen pokemon GBA cartridge to change what sort of delays you get.

In HG/SS, does the phone advance your frame by one if it rings, but you don't pick it up? Something threw me off by 1 advancement. All I did was 14 Sweet Scents and walk 384 steps with 5 pokes in my party, but I was 1 above my target (no roamers, I've caught them all).

In case anybody else runs into the same problem, I do believe it was the phone going off, but not getting picked up that gave me that extra advancement. I hurried up this next time and got my stuff done before it rang and I was right on.
 
Alright still trying to PokeRadar Abuse and everytime i use the PokeRadar there are no "Shiny Patches". I have moved twice now and still no Patches that are shiny, should i keep moving and resaving, or should i use a different Seed?

The patch won't be a shiny patch, its will be a flashing one denoting that there is a possibility of a radar only pokemon in there. You will only get a shiny patch if its a chained shiny PID in that patch

Edit: Oh and also, the patches will always be the same on your target seed, (I use this to verify my seed instead of coinflips) the only way to change them is to take a step or two before using the radar

Yeah thats what i meant sorry didnt mean a patch with a shiny pokemon in it XD Just meant one with the PokeRadar Pokemon in it

Yes because you want to use the radar on a different frame number so it gets a different answer from the RNG and different patches appear, if one step doesnt help, try two and so on.
 
I'm not sure if this belongs here but I learned of doing this on this thread. Would anyone happen to know how to get emloop as an swf file on their desktop, I've looked around but can't seem to find a way to do that.

Is it possible to get 31/x/31/31/31/31 spreads on Emerald? I think I've seen threads with people offering pokés like that.

yes but its mostly by breeding RNG and in terms of capture RNG on emerald people use VBA to assist in getting spreads similar to that since it would be very tedious to get that on a regular cart in terms of capture RNG

Yeah, I can see it happening on PRNG breeding, but not on PRNG capturing, because I've entered the maximum possible number of frames on RNG Reporter and it has returned nothing.

and now suddunly, BAM.
My spreads aren't showing up on adjacent results.
I'm doing the same thing as always! (I think)
any ideas as to what's wrong?

You can't realistically expect us to magically know what you're doing wrong. Need more details.

RNG Reporter isn't the best tool for flawless Emerald captures. Most of the flawless spreads appear millions of frames into the game, and RNG Reporter doesn't go that high. You should use PokeRNG to look for flawless Method 1 spreads. Bear in mind that even using accelerated frame advancement with VBA, it will still take days or months to reach some of the flawless spreads. It took Syberia like 4 months to reach the flawless timid HP fire spread for his Latias.
 
Anybody know what frames the Kanto Starters given to you by Oak happen to be on? Is it like the birds in Pt?
