Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Trying to find the seed you actually hit by putting it's IVs.

Double check your date and time that you have in the Reporter itself. I oftentimes accidentally forget to put the date and time I'm currently using in it and get that message. When you first use the seed finder button (by IVs tab) It'll go off the date and time you put in it last...

Everything is correct,
and this was working earlier today, but just not working now!

c a l m d o w n . . . xD

A couple more things to check...

  • Are your nature/IVs right? 1 number off will give you that message
  • Are you abusing in HG/SS? There's a lil button you have to press at the bottom L corner for HG/SS delays...

yep they were/are correct.
And, nope.

Still trying to PokeRadar Abuse....
And for some reason my Frame is way higher then it should be
Heres an exanple and this is everything i did
Turn Step 2 Advances
PokeRadar ( 4 Patches Appeared ) 10 Advances
2 Turn Steps to get to the Patch 4 Advances
Pokemon that Appeared Bellsprout -6 for Monster Frame
Ran From Bellsprout
Did 50 Turn Steps to recharge the PokeRadar 100 Advances
PokeRadared
Patches that Appeared 3, 8 Advances
1 Turn Step to walk to the Sparkly Patch 2 Advances
Pokemon that Appeared Togepi :) -6 Advances for Monster Frame
Ok so so far i have advanced it 182.......
Caught the Togepi Entered its IV's into the RNG Reporter and it said my Acutal Frame was 391, why am i passing my frame when i havent even advanced it that much?

EDIT: Heres another time when the same thing happened :(
1 Step 1 Advancement
2 Turn Steps 4 Advances
PokeRadar 10 Advances
Monster Frame 6 Advances
Total Advances: 21
And i ended up on an Actual Frame of 30 :(
Can anyone tell me whats going wrong or what im doing wrong?
I know that the Step Counter can be affecting ymFrame but i only have 3 Pokemon in my Party (4 Sometimes to start my chain) but thats still way less then its advancing.....

Because that is how Method J works. It uses the list of Method 1 spreads, but when a wild Pokeon is encountered it jumps forward to the nearest Method 1 frame with X nature. So when you reached frame 183 and encountered a Pokemon, it kept forwarding the RNG until 391, where the appropriate nature appeared.

So when you are plugging your IVs into RNG Reporter, it's returning the equivalent Method 1 frame, not the actual Method J frame.

You have to look at the list of Method J frames and look at all the frames that say 391 under "Actual".

It would help if you posted your seed, too.

Under what classification would starters be(Chimchar, Piplup, etc)? Method J?

They are Method 1, because they are gift Pokemon, not wild encounters or roamers.

Anyone know if there are any NPCs on the floor with Mewtwo in HG/SS? I didn't see any, but my frame advancements are a bit "iffy". Haven't tried the whole wait 2 mins before encountering thing to check yet...

Then try that. It's quicker than posting here.

Just curious to see if anyone else has experimented with Radar abuse

Back to LF's method. I found you should try and find a patch that has Togepi the FIRST time, so you're on a relatively low frame. To do this, I just radar'd at different spots with the big patch of grass every time I entered the game with the same seed.
I eventually got my Toegpi, caught it and there were 3 other "shaky unique radar poke patches." I walked in all 3, 2 (I'm 100% sure of this but I may test it later with other pokes) of the patches changed pokes if I used a different frame but there was 1 patch - whatever the frame will ALWAYS be the Togepi.

Text was copied from DMP thread that I posted, but bold is the thing I want to know. I was randomly testing this as I was attempting to get Togepi, can anyone confirm this? It would help in the future with radar abuse.

I am currently working on a Radar-based project, and yes, you are correct. This stems from the basic mechanics of chaining: The 4-away square will always be your chained poke. Diesel wrote an excellent chaining guide for this that might be helpful to you.

How do I find a spread with zero speed in the time finder?
If you're using Wichu's Seedfinder, the only thing you can do is set the search to greater than or equal to, and have speed to zero (which sucks because you have to find the zero yourself). If you're using Mingot's RNG Reporter, then set the drop down to "=" and put zero into the text box.

Thanks!

Why would the RNG Reporter it say:
"No matchs found for the IVs entered. Please check and try again."
I have checked and retried twice. Why?
I'm having this problem again,
and I'm 100% sure I'm entering the IVs/date.time correctly.
Why?? I need a quick answer.

You are not entering the correct IVs. PERIOD.

If it says that there are no valid IV combination, then you are not entering the correct IVs. PERIOD.

If it says that there is no reasonable date time the problem could be incorrect IVs or you have incorrectly entered the date and time.

Those are the ONLY things that cause those problems.

I know I am entering the right IVs, I am un-installing, and installing again. I'll edit if it works
