Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

I'm just now starting to attempt RNG abuse in Diamond and Pearl... does anyone else find it more difficult to hit your seed in those games than in Platinum? For those who imported HG/SS, how do they stack up?

Unfortunately, I'm doing this for a WonderCard Pokémon, which is a major pain. I'm just curious: has anyone looked at the ARNG code that is responsible for determining the PID of WonderCard Pokémon but has just been unable to decipher it, has no one been able to locate it, or what? Is there much chance of it ever getting cracked?

Thanks!

@Misdreavus: No, PID is still random for wondercard pokemon and yes, it is for some reason harder to rng in p/d than pt.

What's a perfect HP Ice spread for method J?

Yes I find in D/P you have almost no control over hitting even or odd delays like you do in Platinum (Inserting/Removing a GBA cart for example) I just finished resetting for a Skorupi on Pearl aiming for a delay of 1322, but kept hitting 1320 1321 1323 1324 instead, makes next to no sense lol.

As far as HG/SS goes, its the same as Platinum, you will get either odd or even, and can change that by inserting/removing a GBA cart =)

seeing as I have been inactive for quite some time.... I figuered I'd ask....

I seem to be having trouble with RNG on Diamond.... is it any easier on Platinum? (even just the slightest bit)

Has a realiable RNG method been discovered on HG/SS? (I'f I can't RNG on it, I probably wont buy it...)
Thank you for your input

I actually just asked on the last page about the difficulty in Diamond/Pearl vs. in Platinum; Newts_Ute told me that it is easier in Platinum than it is in D/P because with D/P you don't really have control over whether you'll end up hitting odd or even frames, while in Platinum, you have total control (assuming you're not using a DSi; just remove or insert a Pokémon GBA game and it will change from one to the other).

As for HG/SS, the actual RNG is the same, but since you don't have the Journal, advancing the frame is more difficult. Last I heard, there was some testing going on about frame advancements via the PokéGear radio and by talking to your partner Pokémon, but I don't believe anything has been found that is as reliable as the Journal. The HG/SS RNG thread is here if you're interested.

ahhh.... thanks.... (I'd been using Diamond to breed.... looks like it's time to switch)

I keep seeing people talking about hitting delays like 1000 or 1200. However, I can only hit delays between 595 and 618. How can you hit such delays?

Hi, I search this spread:
Frame: 6
IVs: 31 | 31 | 31 | 31 | 31 | 31
Delay: 602
Seconds: 14

Help me for the year and the month, please.

Since yesterday I tried to RNG a Cleffa on my Emerald. Still no good results after hours of trying to RNG. I'm actually wondering if I do everything right. It's my first time so maybe I missed something.

I've read the RNG guide for Emerald. I took this one that's on the list of the RNG guide:
Frame: 944
Time: 0.15.73
Spread: B / 19 / A / 30 / 30 / B

I know parent A is the Clefairy in the first slot and parent B in the second slot. Parent A has 30 in Def and Parent B has 31 in HP and 30 in Speed. So that should be fine.

What I do is saving before the DayCare Man while he has my Egg with a female Calm Cleffa. I SR and at the same time I start the stopwatch. I push A as fast as I can and talk till the DayCare Man says: 'Take good care of it.'
I wait till my stopwatch reached 15 seconds and end the conversation with the DayCare Man.
After this I hatch my Egg ofcourse and hopes I succesfully RNGed.

My question is: Am I doing this right?
Because I ain't sure after hours of trying...
Ofcourse this spread has a frame. I havn't read anything/a lot about frames. Is there anything Ive to do with frames?

Thanks for helping me. =)

I'm pretty sure that this is the best one:

Timid
31/22/30/31/31/31 (HP Ice 70)
seed: A21504F7, frame: 146 (on method J), delay: 1261 (for 2010)

Synchronize is not needed. :)

I don't know how you found that, but thanks

not 15 seconds, 15.7333 to be exact. Maybe that's you're problem because everything else seems fine to me. Try using emloop too, that helps a lot.

Can someone please explain how to rng abuse for method one pokemon on Emerald? I seem to have trouble with this

There's a bunch of guides if you haven't found one yet. Also, the question above you is a pretty good guide in itself.
Basically, what you do is stand next to the pokemon you're catching, or interacting with, whatever. Save. SR at the same time as starting a stop watch. Mash A until you get to the phrase before the IV's are created. Press A on the time for your frame.
To find the time for your frame, just take the frame and divide by 60.

My question is if that Buneary next to the daycare counts as a NPC.

I ran into a problem for once while breeding. I am breeding for Nidoran(F), and I have my parents ready to go and everything. When I used the seedfinder to find my abilty/nature/gender, I manage to get get the first 2, but instead I get Nidoran(M); even from a spread that is only meant to be competely female! The only one's I've done so far is all female, and all male, and I still get male. I'm wondering if their factor is different from the other pokemon. I'm going to try the other gender spreads such as F/M/F/F, etc and see if I can get a female.

Hey guys, I was wondering if it is possible to RNG an egg in your game, then trade it to someone elses.
If it is, do you put their IDs into RNG reporter, your IDs, or some weird combo that gives them a shiny egg?

Yes you can. You simply RNG a shiny egg for their game on your game, then trade it over.

I've been testing that with someone. We tried:
My IDs then trading: Looked shiny on hatch screen. turned unshiny in summary
Their IDs: No shininess at all
My ID, their SID: It was shiny... but we did it again and it was unshiny. Was it a random "encounter" or a screw up on the second one?
My SID, their ID: unshiny

I can't think of any other way to do it...

I have a question. Im still confused aobut getting pokemon with flawless IV's by hatching. Could somebody explain it to me in simple terms and then how to do it in the game by RNG
