Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Just making sure I have this right, but when HG/SS breeding you collect eggs to advance the RNG, right? So say I was aiming for frame 37. I'd collect 36 eggs and the 37th would be the shiny egg?

yup

that's why I asked for a low egg seed.

does when you save in front of the daycare man before resetting for egg IVs have an effect on whether the NPCs are likely to move? Because on my first breed I had no trouble with them, but now they're moving all over the place and making me shake my fist angrily

EDIT: and i've been hitting odd delays out of the blue, is that normal?

Yeah, their movement is determined when you save. Just load the game, wait a minute, then resave. Hopefully that will give you a steadier frame to work with.

alright, i'll give that a try, I was going to go for a whole new egg, silly me! XD

but what about the delays?

@Aviator: Keep the delay and everything else. You'll only need to change the seed. So basically, target time and target frame. Gl.

I'm looking at the Platinum encounter tables, and I don't see any listings for Trophy Garden daily Pokémon 1 and 2. What slots do they occupy?

This is just a little question I had and theres really no other place to ask it I guess =/
What Determines that your Delay is Even or Odd? Is it Determined when the Game is made or when a New Game is started? Or does is it Determined by the Player? In Platinum that is I guess.. Because what I heard is DP Delays can switch...
Thanks in advance =)

My guess is it's varies by DS and cartridge. Same as calibrated seconds and delay.

EDIT: A more technical answer is, the game(s) probably runs at 30 fps. When you hit continue it then picks the higher of the 2 delays (60 delay per second/30 fps) on that frame. As to why Plat always stays on either even/odd and Diamond/Pearl don't perhaps Plat always arranges the delays on each frame the same way and then Diamond/Pearl use some other method to determine which goes first. On a somewhat related note, is there anyone who hits odd delays in Plat without a GBA card in? So far everyone I've spoken to with Plat hits even which would support my theory about the fps (if delays 1 and 2 are on the first frame, 2 and 3 with GBA in, that would explain it). Assuming that's correct, if Diamond and Pearl could run at 60 fps, or place a solo delay on the first frame, then that would explain their switches. This is all almost totally baseless speculation though so...

just a few times whenever I used my AR for some reason my delays became even with my emerald cart inserted and odd without it. Then after I had played LG for a while and went to do some platinum abuse my delays again were odd without the cart inserted but that didn't last too long, after a few resets it went back to the usual cart inserted even delays and cart removed odd delays.

Wait... what? You just contradicted yourself. Do you normally (cart removed) get even or odd?
I didn't contradict myself I usually hit even, like most people, without a cart inserted I was just giving the two instances where I hit odd without a cart inserted.

The parts in bold are the same (no cart, odd delay), yet you say it switches from one to the other. That is contradiction... I see now that it was just a mistake and you meant it went back to even, but that threw me off. Do you know for sure that you were hitting odd delays? I've also had times where it seemed like I was hitting odd delays, but in fact the alleged seed I hit just shared coin flips with the actual seed I hit (I double checked with a capture). More embarrassing was when I put the wrong year into RNG Reporter and spent an hour thinking I had broken my Plat/DSi.

yep they were I wasn't getting the coinflips to match so i went and caught a pokemon and the delay was even, even with my emerald inserted, which would usually produced odd delays. The incident with my AR was more consistent and lasted for about 10 resets before switching back to cart inserted odd delays, cart removed even delays.

Well damn, that ruins my theory XD. The only thing I can think of that could make that support it would be, having an AR inserted has the possibility of throwing away one delay in the same way I'm assuming a GBA cart does. I'm reluctant to totally throw out that idea since I can't think of anything similarly simple to replace it with, and no dev writes unnecessarily complex code. Has anyone else had Plat switch from even to odd?

Also, has anyone had delay not run at 60 per second? I've aimed for several delays in the thousands, and PikaTimer was still giving me correct timers. If delay ran at even 59/61 instead my timers would have been off by ~.4 seconds which is impossible since I only hit within 4 delay of my target when going for those spreads.

EDIT: For those that don't want to do math .4 seconds is 24 delay.

When trying to find a ID and SID combination for shiny spreads with ID Finder, is it possible to have more than one good shiny spread? Like, imagine that I want to have a nice Timid spread and also an Adamant one. The PID's are different but can I have both with one single ID and SID combinations or would I need two games or something?
