You are correct. There are only 8192 possible shiny combinations, but there are billions of pokemon.
Okay, I'm having trouble hitting the right delay. I'm using PikaTimer, so I find a spread and time I want, and enter the delay I want. I enter my average delay and my calibrated seconds, and I set my wanted seconds. I create a timer, and set my DS clock to 11:27:00 (my target time is 11:28:20).
I then press OK on the DS at the same moment I start my first timer (which is 65.98s). I then reboot the DS and load the game, and wait. At the end of that timer on the final sound I soft-reset my game and mash A as fast as possible usually getting past Continue on the final sound. I then open the Coin Flip app and check the flips in comparison with those generated by Time Finder to check what I actually hit.
Am I just doing something wrong?
When HG/SS shiny breeding, do you have to have a certain number of pokemon in your party like in DPPt? You had to have six in your party in DPPt. I ask because I hit my delay, collected thirty six eggs, and the thirty seventh was supposed to be shiny, but it wasn't. Then I realized I hit my delay with five pokemon in my party...
Nope! You need to have six Pokemon in DPPt because of the Happiness Checker (it advanced the egg RNG by 2 for each Pokemon in your party, with every tap). But there's no happiness checker in HGSS. Unfortuntely, that means no taps, either.

How long does RNG reporter's time finder usually take to produce spreads for Egg IV abuse, because mine takes well over 15 minutes
800-999 seem like too big a delay range? It depends on what your delay and frame range are. The bigger it is, the longer it takes.
Um, could someone explain this to me? I'm sure I've inputted the correct time and date into the RNG Reporter(22, 25 for hours and minutes), but it keeps saying it doesn't have the reasonable seed for the time. I've double checked the inputted stats multiple times, but it just isn't working. Can someone help?

Make sure the DATE it right as well.
Does anyone know why DPPt sometimes just refuses to hit certain frames when hatching eggs? For instance, say my target frame is 12. I'll set the time up and reset a few times, and get the correct coin flips, and see that I landed on frame 6 (this number isn't consistent either, I've found initial frames ranging from 3-12). I'll then reset, flip the journal page 3 times, and land on 13 3-4 times before giving up. When I try flipping twice, I'll get frame 10, and when I try flipping 4 times, I'll get frame 14. The only frame I can't hit is 12. It happens that more often than not, the only frame I can't hit is the one I want.
I'm really confused here.
I've put 2010/2/19, which I'm pretty sure is right since I'm MST...
@Ferrouswheel: I've just resetted, and it still didn't work. It worked when my DS clock and the external clock weren't in sync though, so maybe that's the problem?
If you haven't noticed, this is my first time RNGing.
I do get a consistent frame. Right now, I'm starting on frame 4, and I'm trying to get frame 16. Here are my results:You start with the frame of 1. There are a number of Cowgirl NPCs who are moving and each time they move/turn it advances the RNG by one. Each time you save, the number of cow girls moving is different. I've gotten from 2-16 as my starting frame. The trick is to mash the 'A' button as fast as you can after you close the journal. That should let you get a consistent frame for that particular time that you saved.
