Grey Skies - you save before catching the pokemon, catch it, then check its nature. If its not right, reset and try again :S Its called soft-resetting...

My question:
Want to breed for a shiny (IVs irrelevant) on D/P, and can't remember where the shiny/non-shiny gets set, so don't know best hatching method to use. I'd probably prefer SR method if its only when I take the egg. Tia

the shynines is set as soon as the egg apears same goes with natures moves and things like that the only thing that isnt set I think is IVs

haha wanted to ask if there was an item that increases the chances of encountering a shiny pokemon. I accidentally killed a shiny ponyta minutes ago ):

well you can try chaining with pokeradar but other than that there is no item that would increase (of course you could always start to learn RNG)

just wondering how do people get the suspect test voter badge not that I really want it but I didnt understand how do people get it.

I'm going to EV train a Scyther and evolve it into a Scizor. Should I evolve it first or Ev it first or does it not matter?

How do IV checking codes give their results. (I'm not currently trying to use one, just curious).

If I took my notes well, the results are displayed in two ways: One is in the pokémon's status screen (The IVs replace the actual stat values), or in the TM listing in the Bag screen (The IVs replace the first 6 TM's possession number).

I would say no. Only if this Dragonite is currently still @ level 5 then it is.

If you want the blue wing, you need to significantly contribute to the tiering / suspect process. For instance, reachzero (although he votes a lot anyway) runs the UU project. Alternatively, the main way to get it is qualify for and vote in five different stages (UU and/or OU). The badge FAQ is here. You can read up on the suspect test in Issue #6 of the Smog, or in the stickies and threads posted by Jumpman16. Keep in mind you must demonstrate conduct as befits a badged user. ;)

If you just want the check, you get the pure black-and-white one for qualifying for an OU test, and the green one for qualifying for a UU test.

Hi! Long time reader 1st time poster.

When it comes to team rating or effectivness of a team doesn't the team always seem to get a lower review than it really should?
Someone points out every weakness conceivable for the team which makes it look like it's not as strong a team then it doesn't get as good a rating.
It might just be me though...
Obviously there is no "best team" but aren't there specific stragegy (play style) "best teams"?
I think the probability of your opponent having a team which specifically counters your own to be rather low. Also I would imagine a team FULL of counters (built in mind that it would be good vs everything) would be rather weak.

Why are any of the legendaries allowed in competition?
Will there ever be a top team of UUs?

It's not about 'rating' a team; it's about analysing and improving the team.

Also, there are definitely better teams than others. You can view some of the cream of the crop in the RMT archive, though some older ones are rather outated.

They're allowed because their legendary status doesn't automatically make them broken. There are some NU legendaries, like Regigigas and Entei; Regigigas has an awful ability and Entei just isn't good, with its SR weak and there being better Fire-types. The fact many of these legendaries aren't even OU is a testament to the fact that not all legendaries are good.

As for the last question, probably not. Most UUs are UU for a reason: they aren't as good as OUs. Of course, there are many good teams full of UUs designed for the UU tier, and UUs can be viable in OU in certain situations where they aren't outclassed.

If I already EV trained all my pokemon, but Im kind of lazy to train them to 100, would rare candying them weaken them opposed to a self trained pokemon?

I was IV breeding my Female Modest Gastly trying to get Modest Nature and Mischievous Characteristic. It was holding an everstone and the other pokemon it was breeding with was a ditto. I am a little bit confused would you give the everstone to the ditto or Female Modest Gastly? I also heard that when you use that method there is a 50% chance of getting the same nature as the pokemon holding the everstone. I tried this but it didn't work, I bred 30 gastly and not one of them was Modest and Mischievous. If someone could explain this to me a little bit more detailed I would appreciate it greatly.

I've always been told that you must level them up manually or else they won't receive bonuses to their stats from EVs, so which one is true?
you dont need to grow a level to gain EV's. also lets say you have the lv.100 regigigas you EV train then put it into the box take it back out into your party and his stats will chages depending on how you ev trained it. =]

Could someone please get me a 31 Spatk and 31 Speed IV gastly? I don't care if it is hacked or not and If it is could you give it pokerus as well?
