Team Nazi [UU RMT]

Welcome, men, women, boys, and girls of all ages, to another RMT by your's truly. I decided that OU is boring, and a clusterfuck, so I decided, lets go down a tier, to the tier of the UnderUsed Pokemon. I decided, a theme would be nice, for nicknames and such. Since I have to write a paper about Winston Churchill in World War II and I couldn't think of a group of famous Brits besides Churchill and Chamberlain, I chose Hitler's Third Riech. Its done pretty well on the ladder, but I took a break from laddering so my CRE is kinda fucked atm.

Team Building Process

So I wanted to try a UU stall team that didn't look identical to D_A's team, which is what I usally end up with and I end up scrapping it so here goes.

I needed a good reliable lead, so I picked arguably the best spiker in UU, Froslass.
dpiconani478.gif

If its stall, you need as many entry hazards as possible, which means I needed Stealth Rock support. I needed something bulky, with a couple of obvious counters, I went with the reliable (and surprisingly theme fitting) Registeel.
dpiconani478.gif
dpiconani379.gif

Now I got my entry hazards worked out and I needed something that could PHaze, so I have alwasy run into problems with Venusaur being a royal a pain in the you know what, so I went with it.
dpiconani478.gif
dpiconani379.gif
dpiconani003.gif

Then in order to counter it I knew right when I started this team, I wanted a Hazer, lest my PHazer fall to more powerful forces, that Hazer was Milotic. Its been reliable to me in the past, and under conditions, is where it really starts to shine.
dpiconani478.gif
dpiconani379.gif
dpiconani003.gif
dpiconani350.gif

At this point I just needed some filler, a Spin Blocker was one of those things. I liked Spiritomb, because it was overall awesome and has some really cool sets. It is fairly bulky with solid defenses.
dpiconani478.gif
dpiconani379.gif
dpiconani003.gif
dpiconani350.gif
dpiconani442.gif

I wasn't sure what else to put, I figured a screener might work for extra defenses and all that jazz, so I went with Gardevior, mostly because Trace is a really cool ability and it actually has moderate defenses.

Unforunately, it didn't work out, the ability changing thing was way too gimmicky, even for my tastes (for anyone who doesn't know, I use alot of gimmicks, and usually badly). I was encountering heavy problems with statuses, as Milotic can only do so much, so I thought Umbreon might fight the bill, with its Curse/Wish/Heal Bell combo, but not really.

Umbreon is kinda not fitting right now, so I'm currently testing an Altaria, as it resists a lot of moves common to the UU metagame, or is at least neutral to them, which is nice. So yeah its in the works.

Milotic wasn't bad on my team, but it did leave me short of a very necessary key ingrediant to a sucessful UU team, especially now, I needed a spinner. I figured something with the same weaks and resists as Milotic would suffice, and Blastoise does just that and is probably the best spinner in the UU tier.

478.png

Froslass @ Leftovers Eva Braun
Trait: Snow Cloak
248 HP | 248 Def | 16 Spe
Nature: Timid
====================
~Spikes
~Pain Split
~Ice Beam
~Taunt

I chose this set because it worked for D_A, so its obviously good (not to brown nose or anything), but it really is a good set. It viritually garuntees at least two layers of Spikes against any lead, except for an Ampibom who carries Pursuit or Payback. Pain Split is after I have at least 2 layers up, I just try and wear down the enemy until Froslass dies. Taunt is good for stopping slower leads who think its a suicide set. Froslass also serves as a good Spin Blocker if I need her to be later on.

Named Eva Braun because that was Hitler's woman, and Froslass is female only.

334.png

Altaria @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
252 HP | 200 Def | 56 Sp.D.
Nature: Calm
=====================
~Perish Song (Formerly, Heal Bell)
~Roost
~Flamethrower
~Dragon Pulse

Like I said, trying to find a replacement for my status spot. Altaria actually fits the bill nicely, Natural Cure makes it do wonderfully. It also happens to be immune to Toxic Spikes and regular Spikes, which I previously was not, and was making some problems for my own team. Heal Bell helps clear other conditions that might be afflicting my other Pokemon. Roost helps it heal off SR damage and stall longer. Flamethrower is for Steel-types or bulky Grass-types that might try to wall it. I've had some problems with this as well as the others, it, along with Venusaur are both weak to Ice-Type damage, and that creates some problems late game. Since Blastoise and Registeel can't just switch in and take all the damage in the world. So I'm looking for advice on what to replace this fluffy dragon with. Added in Perish Song in case I come up against a really stallish pokemon as the last pokemon.

Named after Alfred Jodl, because he was the leader of the Armed forces in Nazi Germany, and I kind of ran out of high ranking Nazi officials to think of.

Milotic @ Leftovers
Trait: Marvel Scale
252 HP | 252 Def | 4 Sp.D.
Bold Nature
====================
~Surf
~Recover
~Haze
~Ice Beam

Milotic is basically a must have on any good UU stall team. Its ability to turn status ailments into something good, is very good, and very desired. Its also a rather formidable attacking force. STABed Surf and Ice Beam hit just about everything for neutral damage. Haze works wonders against stupid annoyances like Curse Umbreon (which I like but not against me). Recover is to make sure I don't get slaughtered or dominated by entry hazards.

-> I was previously using a RestTalk set with RestTalk|Haze|Surf but I found I was more or less defensless against Venusar, so I need to try and perfect this 'mon to maximum effectiveness.

9.png

Blastoise @ Leftovers Himmler
Trait: Torrent
252 HP | 252 Def | 4 Sp.D.
Bold Nature
====================
~Surf
~Rapid Spin
~Rest
~Sleep Talk

Blastoise is a great utility pokemon, it helps me out a ton, because everything on my team is grounded or Stealth Rock weak. It is also defensively similar to Milotic, minus the defensive ability. Surf is for scaring away spin blockers/doing damage to just about everything. Rapid spin is to clear entry hazards. RestTalk makes it a good status absorber as well as a semi-decent tank. Blastoise is also my only answer to Moltres as long as I play it right.

Named after Hienrich Himmler, because he was the head of SS and Blastoise is vital to holding my team together like he was to the SS.

3.png

Venusaur @ Leftovers Himmler
Trait: Overgrow
220 HP | 252 Def | 36 Sp.D.
Calm Nature
=====================
~Energy Ball
~Roar (Formerly Leech Seed)
~Synthesis (Formerly Light Screen)
~Sludge Bomb (Formerly Sleep Powder)

I chose Venusaur for this team because lets face it, what CAN'T this thing do? It can PHaze, Sweep (physically and specially), Tank, Support, it can do just about every job there is. I was basically told to use this set, and I have to say it works quite well. Only problem is that it becomes rather predictable and is easy to predict around and eventually just a dead weight.
But, if I happen to kill all opposing Grass-Types (a.k.a. Venusaurs) then this baby works like a charm. The moves usually something like this: Leech Seed -> Sleep Powder -> Energy Ball/Screen. This way, I get either sleep or a seed on the enemy (assuming they hit). Its fun and all, but I'm starting to think I should drop Light Screen for Sludge Bomb, in order to hurt more stuff.
So I changed it around alot, basically everything but Energy Ball stayed. Roar is for PHazing and making my hazards more useful, Synthesis is for healing lest I encounter something that hurts me. Sludge Bomb is there to take care of opposing Grass-Types.

Named after Dr. Mengele because he was a "doctor" who did awful stuff to people during WWII and it kinda sounds cool to be honest.

379.png

Registeel @ Leftovers Hitler
Trait: Clear Body
252 HP | 100 Def |156 Sp.Def
Nature: Bold
====================
~Thunder Wave
~Stealth Rock
~Iron Head
~Earthquake

Basically, there is nothing original about this set. At all. Except the EV spread, but I really didn't think it mattered, tanks like a wall, survives a ton of hits, can paralyze the target, get up rocks, do some damage, go get a copy of today's paper, set the DVR, grab a V8, and be on its merry way. Stealth Rocks is there because its vital to every stall team. Thunder Wave is for slowing down sweepers and just to be generally annoying. EQ and Iron Head are just for funsies and dealing minimal to no net damage.

Do I really have to spell out why its Hitler?

442.png

Spiritomb @ (guess) Leftovers Goebbels
Trait: Pressure
252 HP | 252 Def | 4 Sp.D.
Nature: Bold
====================
~Calm Mind
~Dark Pulse
~Hidden Power [Fighting]
~Pain Split

CM Tomb is a powerhouse. With no weaks, it makes it even better. After 2 CMs, it survives just about everything. After more, its a wrecking ball. HP Fighting is mostly just for Steelix, since my team has problems with it in general. Dark Pulse is for STAB, Pain Split is for healing, and damaging the enemy. I feel like having CM Tomb makes my team more of a semi-stall, but I tried the mono-attacking set, but I wasn't crazy about getting walled by Steelix, or other things that were bulky and somewhat resistant to Dark Pulse. So far it works pretty well, but I'm thinking of changing to RestTalk Tomb.

Nammed after Joseph Goebbels, because Spiritomb is basically the face of UU stall, and Goebbels was the propogandist for Hitler.

So, there is my UU Stall team, themed after Nazi Germany. I need help finding a solid replacement for Altaria or a better moveset.

Thanks for reading everyone.

Threat List:

Offensive Threats

dpicon359.png
Absol - Altaria, not much of a problem

dpicon065.png
Alakazam - Tomb

dpicon424.png
Ambipom - Switch to Tomb, then to Blastoise or Venusaur

dpicon059.png
Arcanine - Blastoise

dpicon184.png
Azumarill - Blastoise deals with CB version, I can usually predict around other versions good enough

dpicon257.png
Blaziken - Blastoise and Tomb I can predict around it.

dpicon452.png
Drapion - Attacking versions are walled. RestTalk and PHazing verisons are annoying.

dpicon160.png
Feraligatr - Venusaur can wall it pretty well.

dpicon478.png
Froslass - Tomb.

dpicon297.png
Hariyama - Kinda annoying, but they are pretty easy to play around. Leech Seed is nice.

dpicon106.png
Hitmonlee - Haven't come across one yet, but I can wall with Tomb fairly well.

dpicon237.png
Hitmontop - Walled by everything but Registeel.

dpicon229.png
Houndoom - Blastoise

dpicon141.png
Kabutops - Blastoise or Registeel. In rain it decimates me.

dpicon115.png
Kangaskhan
- Not much of a problem.

dpicon470.png
Leafeon - Registeel or Froslass

dpicon467.png
Magmortar - Tomb can do an okay job after a few CMs, but aside from that nothing really.

dpicon082.png
Magneton - Altaria

dpicon429.png
Mismagius - Tomb

dpicon146.png
Moltres - Pain, but if I predict right with Registeel and T-wave it, it goes down to Blastoise.

dpicon139.png
Omastar - Venusaur

dpicon062.png
Poliwrath - Tomb, Venusaur

dpicon243.png
Raikou - Venusaur walls it pretty well. So does Tomb after a CM.

dpicon464.png
Rhyperior - Blastoise or Venusaur kill it with Surf/Energy Ball respectively.

dpicon123.png
Scyther - Blastoise

dpicon277.png
Swellow - Blastoise to kill it, Registeel to wall it.

dpicon389.png
Torterra - Never faced one because they aren't that common.

dpicon003.png
Venusaur - Roaring versions are annoying since I can't PHaze them back. Other versions are pretty easily dealt with.

Defensive Threats

dpicon009.png
Blastoise - Venusaur

dpicon113.png
Chansey - Annoying as heck. Best I can hope to do is Seed it and PHaze it as much as possible.

dpicon344.png
Claydol - Blastoise or Tomb or Froslass.

dpicon091.png
Cloyster - Kinda annoying, but HP Fighting after a few CMs kills fast.

dpicon346.png
Cradily - Really, really, really, really, etc. annoying in Sandstorm, outside of Sandstorm, I just use Surf or Sludge Bomb

dpicon232.png
Donphan - Froslass or Blastoise, depending on the situation.

dpicon481.png
Mesprit - Tomb.

dpicon350.png
Milotic - Play around it hopefully, if its the last poke, use Perish Song if I have another pokemon, otherwise, its its a pain.

dpicon031.png
Nidoqueen - Froslass can Taunt it forcing a switch or attack. Blastoise deals with it otherwise.

dpicon195.png
Quagsire - Venusaur.

dpicon377.png
Regirock - Blastoise, Venusaur.

dpicon379.png
Registeel - Blastoise, Venusaur, if I can set up Tomb, then Tomb as well.

dpicon479.png
Rotom - Tomb.

dpicon080.png
Slowbro - Tomb.

dpicon442.png
Spiritomb - Venusaur take its attacks.

dpicon197.png
Umbreon - Tomb.

dpicon480.png
Uxie - Tomb.

dpicon110.png
Weezing - Blastoise or Altaria

It looks like you've built up a solid team right there. (I can't find any glaring flaws.)

Might I suggest another set for Altaria?

The Defensive Dancer set (I find) is far more superior to the standard Altaria set.

name: Defensive Dancer
move 1: Dragon Dance
move 2: Dragon Claw
move 3: Roost
move 4: Heal Bell / Safeguard
item: Leftovers
nature: Careful
evs: 252 HP / 16 Atk / 176 SpD / 64 Spe

Your current set isn't really threatening anything, and that's my problem with Altaria being purely defensive. You switch in, Roost/Heal bell and switch out. Damage wise it's not doing anything and that's something you may want to consider.

The defensive dancer set can still perform your defensive needs AND puts the pressure on. Accumulating in switches and causing you to sweep right then and there. (assuming there bulky steel types are done fore)

A 6+ Altaria 3HKO's Registeel and it can't really threaten (you can roost off damage and heal bell T-waves)

With a single Dragon Dance, you outrun positive natured base 90's (Moltres)
Which can be pretty useful in a pinch I suppose.

Thanks, I might try that, I forgot to put that I changed Heal Bell to Perish song, but I'll test it out and see how it works.

I can see a well played Rain team giving this team problems. I recommend using Tangrowth over Venusaur to help deal with Kabutops and SD Ludicolo.

Tangrowth @ Leftovers
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 252 HP/4 SpA/252 SpD
Nature: Relaxed
-Leaf Storm/Grass Knot
-Earthquake
-Synthesis
-Sleep Powder

Please name him Fegelein. If you've watched some Downfall parodies, you'll know why =D.

I'm not sure about Registeel's EVs. As of now, he is 31% more physically bulky and 19% more specially bulky over 0/0/0. Note that JUST running 252 HP makes him adds 21% bulk ON BOTH SIDES. I think you should change your EVs to 252HP/100Def/156SpD Careful, which I believe is the standard.

Froslass wants 26 speed evs minimum to beat Jolly Venusaur.

What do I take the EVs out of?

Might change it, but then I have nothing to absorb Toxic Spikes with (even though few people use it).

Yeah I did change it, I forgot to update the OP though, thanks.

Hello,

Nice team overall, didn't find many major weaknesses. However I have some nitpicks.
First, Froslass really wants to have 32 speed EVs. Take out some Defense, that won't hurt much.
Second, I really think Venusaur should run Sleep Powder. Sleeping an opponent is just to good to leave out. I would either drop Sludge Bomb or Roar (Roar only in case you put it onto Blastoise, see later). Also, I would use Power Whip over Energy Ball because even though Venu's Special attack is higher than its physical attack, Power Whip has a much higher Base Power than energy ball and will deal more damage. You should also consider Leech Seed over Synthesis because it forces more switches and has the ability to also heal your team mates a bit. Also Synthesis is very susceptible to weather and has low PP.
Blastoise: In case you want to drop Roar on Venusaur, you can change your Blastoise set to the non-resting tank and use Roar on it. If you choose Leech Seed on Venu, Blastoise can also get some free healing. The last slot should go to either Protect for Lefties recovery, to HP Grass for rain teams or to Toxic. Toxic is really appreciated for your team, as it will help against Cradily and Milotic for example. HP Grass will ohko Kabutops and Omastar, while they will fail to ohko you. Note that Protect can also stall rain turns.

I also figured out that your team is really screwed by rain teams. Well, this is hard to fix as there is literally no way to effectively stop rain teams in today's metagame IMO.

Anyway, hope I could help. Good Luck !

Looks like a solid team.

If you decide not to use the BulkyDD Altaria suggested above, I would suggest using this defensive set:

Altaria @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
252 HP | 40 Def | 216 SpD
Nature: Careful (+SpD, -SpA)
=====================
~Dragon Claw
~Roost
~Heal Bell
~Perish Song

This gives Altaria both of its support options with Heal Bell and Perish Song. Dragon Claw over Dragon Pulse because most of the things Altaria counters have weaker defense over special defense (Venusaur, Houndoom, Moltres, etc.). EVs are more special defense oriented to help counter these threats.

Flamethrower was unnecessary as Altaria really doesn't threaten anything without significant investment into its attacking stats.

Requesting lock please, put team in retirement.

~Thanks.

EDIT: Thanks for the rates everyone, but I'm going to put the team out of commision and try to work more with a non stall play style.
