Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

It advances when you flip TO the page :)
And well since your frame is even I hope you brought an un even amount of pokemon in your party because your frame will have one left over :x
Ill edit it in
should ask if he has any roamers (cresselia, mesprit, the birds if on platinum) running around

yes don't worry, I have 5 pokemon in my party for that 128 steps thing at the end. And thanks for the help, hope I get this!

Ok, I got the frame thing (after catching pokemon and confirming ivs). What do I do now? The video says to right click the seed in the time finder but theres nothing there >< .

Allright so then 1976-5(128 Steps with 5 Pokes in your party)-1(Monster frame=1970
1970/2= 985 Journal Flips
and as nex said do you have any roamers? if so subtract them from your frame as well...

I havn't caught any roamers yet, so that means I should have 5 roamers right?

did you release them? they only count if they're running around sinnoh but if you didn't release them then don't worry about it

Wow I didn't know that haha, well then I know mespirit is roaming, I released him, and I'm pretty sure I didn't confront Cresselia at Full Moon Island yet, and I know I definatly didn't release the birds, so that means 1 roamer then.

Hey Nexus, since you're smart (not sarcastic), can you confirm/deny the possibility of re-releasing Latios (how) and if he does indeed mess up my RNG for Lugia?
I can;t answer whether he will respawn so someone else whose actually checked will have to help you there, but as a roamer he will have an effect

My question's not yet answered...
How do I RNG in HG/SS?
Is emloop helpful?
And what adjustments will I do?
Because there's no HG/SS checkbox in emloop
Any answers, please?

Is it really HARD to RNG in HG/SS?

I'm assuming you have done the following:

Collected your egg ASAP after starting.
Caught a wild pokémon ASAP after collecting the egg.
Determined the wild pokémon's IV's.
Found your seed via the seed finder button.
Selected the DPPt Breeding option, from the drop down menu at the top left on the RNG reporter.
Used your found seed to generate a list of IV spreads and a corresponding frame.
Hatched your egg somewhere during or after the above.

If you've done that and found which frame your egg iv's were on, now you should make a note of the frame, and repeat. Your egg iv frame will usually vary from frame 1 - 10, I've had it as high as 11 once. Repeating this procedure a few times will help verify which frame you're saved on. This way it will be easier to select which frame you will need to use the journal to hit for your desired IV spread.

It seems that the pokemon you have following you is what determines Sweet Scent's frame advancement. When my Alakazam followed me, it was always 1. When my Zapdos did, it was always 2. When my Oddish did, it was something else it seems.

Emloop or PikaTimer are needed in my opinion. I do not know how to use Emloop though. And it isn't really that hard to RNG in HG/SS as long as you already know how to RNG.

BTW is PikaTimer the same as Emloop?
And what are the differences?
No, although they are similar. Emloop is an online Japanese applet designed to work with the Emerald RNG, but it can be used for the D/P/Pt/HG/SS RNG as well. PikaTimer is a downloadable Java applet written in English by pikachu25, which is designed to work with both the Emerald RNG and the D/P/Pt/HG/SS RNG.

Here are links to both of them:
Emloop
PikaTimer

Make sure you have the latest version of the Java Development Kit for PikaTimer, and I believe you need Adobe Flash for Emloop as well.

Sorry for me being a pest, but...
Are there tips and easy ways in RNG abusing in HG/SS?
I can't seem to progress yet until I know how.
Which one will I use? PikaTimer or Emloop?
I know already how to RNG (so far only in D/P/Pt, and also to that ID No. Pandora Box [using emloop])

And tell me/us what will advance frames, and tell me which one advances frames inconsistently.

For one of your quesitons, I suggest going straight to front page. Going down to Omegadonut's post.
There, he has a codebox showing the frame advancements when using the Radio app. As well as any other useful info that may be good.

as for tips so what Giratian man said and look at Omegadonut's post and maybe bother to look at few of the previous pages, as for which time anyone is fine if you can know how to use emloop then use it, the difference isn't substantial to say one is better than another aside from the language thing misdreavus mentioned.

No worries! Basically, the most consistent way to advance the frame is the radio. One big difference from D/P/Pt is that you no longer have the Coin Flip app to check your seed, so the next best thing to do is to use Sweet Scent and check your seed that way. If you can get the Pokémon to a high enough level, then you can use RNG Reporter's Seed Finder to find what seed you are on, and if you are on your target seed, you may want to write down the Pokémon you got and its stats so you can instantly recognize that seed next time if necessary. After using Sweet Scent and completing the battle, your frame will advance to the frame under the "actual" column on the row that corresponds to your Sweet Scent spread if you examine that seed in RNG Reporter.

Agreed. I'd like to add that you don't need to know one iota of Japanese to use Emloop; there's multiple guides on the forums that explain it (you'll just be typing in numbers and clicking buttons). Still, if you're bothered by the program being in a foreign language, or if you just prefer PikaTimer, then PikaTimer might be the better choice for you. Personally, I used Emloop before PikaTimer was created, and once that came out, I switched over to it.

skipped me:
"hey, has anyone figured out how to rng abuse for the dialga/giratina/palkia in HG/SS?
I need a quiet dialga for vgc"
Nexus said in this post that they are method 1, frame 1.

I just downloaded RNG Reporter 7.20.
BTW, I haven't calibrated in HG/SS yet, so what's the normal delay range in HG/SS?
And is emloop useful if I tend to choose higher MAX delays?
(So that I won't have to change the date to something outrageous and crazy)

BTW if I choose the Max Frame to be just 1, then I won't have to worry about frame advancement anymore (for Pokes with monster frame 1)?

Thankx in advance in answering the questions (marked in Bold letterz).

When I calibrated my delay in HG/SS, my delay range was 479-489 (yes, it's a lot smaller than in D/P/Pt since the opening sequence is shorter). Emloop or PikaTimer is absolutely 100% useful for trying to hit high delays; it's almost impossible without using one of those programs. As for your last question, yes, if you find a spread you like that's on frame 1, and the Pokémon is also on frame 1, you won't have to worry about advancing the frame at all.

Minimum delay is about 490. Emloop is not only useful, but it's a requirement to encounter the desired Pokemon at low frames. This is why I recommend everyone learn it (instead of mashing A at the start)

It's possible, but not always worth it. Try putting the spread you're looking for into the Seed Finder with Open Search and Show Offset checked. You might find it on frame 1, but the delay will be ridiculously high.
