Pokemon 'evolution' is not evolution, it is metamorphosis.

Pokemon 'species' are not necessarily biological species either, since all Pokemon can interbreed (except those that don't breed at all). They're more like subspecies that form a species complex.

People, drop the evolution thing. First, Cantab got it right. Second, I don't think Game Freak really cares about what some crazy fundies think. They're limited to the US (and sadly spreading to the UK), and Pokémon is a worldwide thing.

Making it E10+ would be really bad for Nintendo, they would lose a lot of money from that (I think). Anyways, I'm hoping that some Pokemon like Zubat, Geodude, Tentacool, and Magikarp won't be in the regional dex and will have new Pokemon to replace them at being really common.

HEY YOU! GET AWAY FROM MY GOOD POKEMON!

Sereously, Crobat and Tentacruel are horrably underestimated, and the commonness of their younger forms helps. (And would YOU like to surf around where the only findable pokemon is Wingull? Me neither.) Gyara isn't underestimated, everyone knows it rocks. And Golem... well, he's not "To good", but he's still a pretty powerful force. (Remember RBY? He was OU then.)

I want Psyduck not to be in the regional dex. He's always there, and it annoys me because he really isn't that good (at least DPPt got it right and put him at the begining, where he has marginal use).

I'm not saying that they're bad Pokemon. I'm just tired of them in the regional dexes and think that new Pokemon should be commonplace instead of them.

I would like more variance in day-to-day Pokemon sightings. Currently, for each route, it's just basic Pokemon 1, basic Pokemon 2, slightly rarer Pokemon 3, and (sometimes) very rare Pokemon 4. Sure, that's oversimplifying it, but considering that they have almost 500 Pokemon to draw from, they should be able to at least make Surfing more than "A wild Tentacool/Tentacruel/Wingull/Pelipper appeared!"

Oh, and add Golduck to the list of 'mons needing evos. With Cloud Nine it actually has a lot of promise, if only its stats and movepool didn't suck so hard.

actually, psyduck should get an alternate evo. in generation one, psyduck and slowpoke were opposites, like starmie and cloyster. Except slowpoke got an alternate evo in gen.2. yes, its main evo isarguably better, but still, they left psyduck in the dust

I just want to say that I hope they keep the subtle game mechanics subtle and do not allow modification of EVs like blatantly obvious.

They could explain EVs and that'd be fine, but EVs and IVs really are an integral part in casual pokemon. As much as I love the metagame I really think pokemon is best as a casual mon game. The metagame is like chess while regular pokemon is simply fun.

You know, this idea's probably a little silly, but I always had the idea that it would be really unique if pokemon could combine in a way. Of coarse, this would cause too much work for all of the possibilities that it would bring, so restrictions would have to be made. Maybe it would work similar to obtaining Shedinja, in that you had to have an empty pokemon slot and using a special item while two separate ones are in your party and compatible.

I've also always been fond of the idea of an evolving legendary pokemon, but I think that kinda defeats the purpose :P

I/someone else brought this up several pages back. Golduck being one of my favourite Pokemon, it's saddening for it to suck so much in terms of stats and movepool. Giving it a third stage Water/Psychic Evo would hopefully boost it to at least a low rank in OU.

Screw Water/Psychic. Pokemon needs more unique combos. Water/Ghost would be so much more bad ass.

Haha, I'm suprised you guys would mention this as I was just thinking about it. I'm sure most people have seen that image of manaphy surrounded by all the water pokemon. What the hell Gamefreak? If we've got that many water types USE THEM! I'm sick of seeing only tentacool and wingull when I surf. Where are the multitudes of other water pokemon I could be seeing?

^ Agreed. There are way more water Pokemon than, say, fire Pokemon. You could maybe find a DIFFERENT water Pokemon when you enter the water, not just know that a Tentacool is awaiting you.

see, the problem with that is that Golduck is already described to have psychic powers, and by all right should already be Water/Psychic. :| I don't see how Water/Ghost is bad ass in any way. considering the fact that it doesn't make any sense to the Pokemon in question that is evolving, the only reason they would use that typing is because it hasn't been used yet; which frankly, is just stupid, forced, and pretty much the exact opposite of bad ass. New Pokemon with unique typings are great, however new evolutions of existing Pokemon should actually make sense and shouldn't completely diverge away from the Pokemon's already conceived concept. Unique typing should be a minor concern when considering new evo's.

also, if anything, Water/Dark makes more sense than Water/Ghost (which still already exists); since Golduck is based off a Kappa, which could be viewed as a "dark" creature.

Edit: by the way, Water/Psychic is way more unique when compared to Mono-Water, which Golduck is now... even then, there's only 4 out of 92 Pokemon with Water/Psychic typing, 3 of which are of the same evolutionary line (Slowpoke).

About the person who mentioned Pokemon combining, Mantyke and Mantine already do this to an extent (you need a Remoraid in your party for Mantyke to evolve).

That's not really what I was really going for, moreso it would be interesting to see a new pokemon transmogrification which would show traits of both, yet be its own as an individual. Sort of like tying two separate evolutionary trees together, in a sense.

u mean sort of like Pikachu + Pachirisu = Pikarisu?

That would be somewhat cool I suppose. But there'd have to be only a small amount of Pokemon that can do that, otherwise it would be crazy. And by small amount i mean a maximum of 10-15 interbreeds.. Also, if they really did want to do that, I can imagine them only doing it for one or two species, just to test the waters. If the reactions good, they might add a few more, if not, they can stop there.

Nintendo is in no rush to fully incorporate new ideas.

Emo Psyduck 8)

I don't like the idea of adding your evs after every battle like every other rpg ever. I had fun playing without evs then when I discovered them it was like a whole new game again.

I was thinking they should change types of Pokémon. Like Charizard should be Fire/Dragon, and Gyarados should be a Dragon too. Just simple stuff like that.

Also I like the idea of having a 0.1% chance of catching any wild Pokémon, like Salamence for example. Since shinys are no longer that rare it would just be so cool to bump into a Dragonite totally out of the blue.

I also had the idea of alternate sprites. It kinda gets boring looking at the same sprite over and over, and they tried to address that with male/female sprites, but I think it would be cool if they had different sprites for different natures. Not every single nature, but a Pokémon with a defensive spread would look a certain way, and maybe, for example, a more attack orientated Snorlax would be standing up and looking all pissed off. It would give them a lot more character.

Oh, also on that note we will probably be able to edit the sprites anyway and give them little sunglasses for battle like the contests 8)

I would really love if they gave Wigglytuff something to do besides be worthless. A new ability or something to make it stand out a bit.

I thought they might be moving toward this with things like the SpikeyPichu. I always thought Venusaur should have an alternate form that is Grass/Fire and can use Fire Blast.
