Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Or you could test it, just like we do with egg abuse. That's what I did with mine. I saved just before stepping out, speed through the conversation, caught a random wild for finding the seed, and then getting Latias for the actual frame. Did that 3 times and found mine was consistent at 9.

Re-saving works, I tend to resave until I get a frame below 5, but that's just me.

No, bad idea. There are so many random moving NPCs that you'd end up with advances some random amount that would probably be close to 50 or so. Re save, don't do this.
Woops, already did it...I guess I'll recheck it and see what I get. If it went super-high, is there anything I can do to get it back down?

But the fact that there's moving NPCs inside and the amount of frame advances I need to do could really screw me over (then again, it probably screwed a lot of people over), So unless there's an HP Fire 70 on Frame 9 with x/x/x/30/x/30 there's no way to pull it off effectively.

No, none of those advance the frame. Bayleaf is the only one that moves, but it's preset, like how the buneary in DPPt breeding didn't advance the frame.

Oh snap, really? I never went in but if none of the NPCs move then it should be a lot easier. I will get cracking on it once I RNG for the other legends first (with exception of RayRay). Maybe the reason for it's inconsistency could be based on time perhaps? Similar to certain radio stations.

I believe that the Starting Frame for wild pokemon in HGSS(at least in caves) might be 3 because when I was RNGing Mewtwo and I caught a Kadabra to check my seed, it's IVs were those of Frame 3 rather than 2. Can anyone confirm this?
EDIT: Right after finding my seed with the Kadabra, I immediately talked to Mewtwo and I landed on Frame 20 somehow. What caused this to happen as I am getting very confused? @_@

You looking at Method 1 or Method K spreads?

Also note that the spread on a Method K frame 3 can be identical to a Method K frame 20.

Just found this out about DPPt Shiny Breeding (at least this is what I have experienced on my Diamond ROM):

When you put parents pokemon into daycare, generate an egg, hatch & release it, and take the parents out, the delay tend to switch from odd to even and vice versa.

How did you go into battle? If you used sweet scent, it may change depending on what pokemon you have follow you. For me, with my alakazam following me it always advances 1, but it advances by 2 when my zapdos is following me (tested both in the same seed). As for getting a frame 20 Mewtwo, the RNG automatically advances the frame to the actual frame of the pokemon you just battled and then advances another 6 past it. So if your Kadabra had an actual frame of 14, then it would be 14 + 6 = 20, which would be your current frame.

I entered battle by using Sweet Scent and what do you mean by "actual" frame as this is my first attempt at RNGing something in HG/SS besides my ID/SID combination.

On RNG reporter, Method K (maybe J too, not sure) spreads have an Actual Frame column, which I believe is the frame for their Method 1 counterparts.

So I'm trying to do this to catch a perfect Giratina in Platinum, and I'm can't seem to hit my target time. I always check with the coin flips and it's never correct. The journal is not auto-opening, and as far as I can tell I have it set to the correct time.

To get the journal to auto-open, you have to skip ahead at least two days.
If you do that, you should be good to go.
Also, another idea would be to catch Giratina and use him to check your delay.

The new RNG Reporter looks great... awesome work, guys! If you don't mind, I have a few suggestions for potential ideas to implement in the future:

The ability to input the IVs of parents into the DPPt Breeding tab. For example, if you input your parents IVs as A: 31/4/17/9/31/25 and B: 10/31/24/27/31/31, and you search for 31/31/31/31/31/31, spreads like B/A/31/A/31/31 would be filtered out, while spreads like A/B/31/31/B/31 would remain. You won't have to look at each spread on the list one-by-one to see if it would produce a fully-flawless spread with the parents you have. Perhaps there could also be a checkbox to allow the switching of A and B (if you know these two will be your parents, but you haven't deposited them in a specific order yet), causing a spread such as B/31/31/31/A/A to be accepted in the results for the above example.

The inclusion of encounter slots into search results without having to right-click (just have more rows in the results for encounter slots in each different game) and the ability to search spreads based on encounter slots. As it is, you need to right-click each result one at a time and compare it with the encounter tables to see if it will give you the Pokémon you want.

The ability to search by gender ratio (as in DPPt Shiny Egg) in the main search.

The ability to search for delays over 999, as Pehu mentioned (it currently only accepts 3-digit integers).

Faster searching, like in PokéRNG DP.

Keep up the great work!

Generate the list based on your seed in the main RNG Reporter window and leave all the filters blank so you get every frame. Then look for the one that matches what you got.

Sorry if this has already been answered but I didn't see it on the front page. Is their any method to verify the target frame in HG/SS since there's no coin flip?

By target frame I think you mean delay/seed? because you mnetioned the coin flip....
If so then yes there is, you can catch a Pokemon and either enter its IV's into the Seed to Times find Seed by IV's function or if the Pokemon you catch it of level 50 or higher (or you level it up) You can enter its stats into the Seed to times find seed by Stats function :)
If you mean frame then YodaJM is right :)

Hmm.. My delay is too short, apparently. The guide says that the only way to make it odd rather than even (or vice versa) is to have a 3rd gen game in the gba slot. Any other way to do that?

Yeah I meant to say verifying the target time/delay. So, capturing another pokemon won't mess up the frame for the one I really want? (I'm trying to RNG the Zapdos by the power plant)

Open Search in the Seed Finder already beats PokeRNG, by a LOT. It lists hundreds of possible spreads in two seconds. Although it currently shows lots of different delays, up in the ten thousands. I might modify Open Search to show higher offsets and filter high delays.

I've implemented searching for delays higher than 999 in the Time Finder (thanks to Pehu) but I'm still fixing one last issue with it.

Hmm... I've never actually used Open Search. I'm just referring to the DPPt Time Finder - DPPt Capture feature, but I'll give Open Search a try now.

Thanks for the tip, and thanks for taking a look at my suggestions! As a Computer Science student, I'd love to help out personally, but I've only learned C and Java.

If you need any help with that, just let me know.

I'm not sure if I understand the Open Search in the RNG Reporter Seed Finder correctly. It seems to just give me lots of seeds with high delays unless I'm mistaken.
