Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

You can, but the frame advancemnet is weak. What you would have to do to abuse one is find a shiny spread that appears on frame 5(their starting frames). Then just use Emloop/Pikatimer to try and hit your delay, and an IV Check code (since you won't be able to tell your seed just by stats) to find your delay. Keep trying to hit your delay until you do, and it should be shiny.

@Tauruta:
1) Yes, since soft reseting restarts the frame at one, and the delay/time will be different.
2) You will use Method K for all wild pokemon. The only time you use Method 1 is for runners (Lati@s, Raikou, Entei) or gift pokemon (starters, Eevee). The Red Gyrados is different, but I don't know how it's created.

Before the Elite Four in Heart Gold, what legendaries should I kill if I want to RNG them later on. Do I kill Ho-oh, Raikou, Entei?

Thanks. I'm pretty new to understand some of the terms you used. Do you have a link to Emloop/pikatimer explainations? This is my first time trying to RNG a pokemon but heard starters is an easy place to start. I downloaded most of the programs on the first page in case I needed them

Ok, just gonna throw this out there, I don't know what iam doing wrong, Ive watched bearfans videos on youtube, but can seem to get RNG abuse for platinum. Can anybody tell me where I can find a step by step tutorial with pictures? The help me better sometimes...thanks.

Does Mingot's RSEdecoder only works for slot 2 Pokémon?
Syberia's tutorial tells you to put the caught/bred Pokémon in slot 2 in your party,
but when you spit out the IV's of the slot 2 Pokémon there is a list of the other 5 slotcodes in Command Prompt.

Ok, I've been RNG breeding for a while now, but I am now just trying Wondercard and RNG captures. I figured the Pichu Wondercard event would be a good place to start, with the set Nature and all.
The problem is, I think I'm having some conceptual misunderstanding concerning Target Time and Delay.
For example, I'm looking at the list of recommended seeds located here. When I plug the second listed seed, 0A140262, into the Seed to Time function of RNGreporter, it gives me a Delay of 600.
Now, my typical reset time is ~14 seconds, which results in delays from 620-640. How is it possible to hit a delay of 600?

I'm currently trying to hit seed 52140289. It's giving me a delay of 639, about 10 above my typical fastest delay. How can I adjust for this slightly higher delay without messing up my target time?

by adding or subtracting years from your DS clock. adding a year will drop your delay by 1 point and subtracting a year will add 1 point to your delay. this way you can adjust the delay you hit.

I'm completely stumped. I'm getting completely inconsistent (ranging from about 25-70) frame advancement from Sweet Scenting. I'm in Bell Tower trying to Sweet Scent Gastly, so I can't use the bike. I've had my Politoed following me the whole time too. This seems really strange. Has anyone else experienced this?

when calibrating for my delay for HG i noticed something very weird. im hard resetting with my AR with the IV check code to use the seed by IV from the new RNG reporter to calibrate my delay and seconds. i always come in at around 16 seconds when hard resetting with my AR. however everytime i enter the game on a even number of minutes my delay becomes a even number. when i enter the game on a odd number of minutes my delay becomes a odd number. can anyone confirm this? iv tried over 10 times on both odd and even numbers of minutes and i think this is correct.

I'm getting some very weird results trying to calibrate my average seconds on HG. My delay range seems to sit around 491-499, but the seconds reading makes no sense. As far as I can tell, it seems like the seconds reading is referring to the seconds from SR to battling a wild pokemon, rather than hitting continue. I cannot understand why it's doing this. Can anyone help?

The formula for journal flips while breeding is your current frame - target frame and that divided by 2 right?

So my target frame is 49 and current frame is 5 so 49-5=44 divided by 2 = 22 right?

Thanks.

Here's something I intend to do at some point: I intend to RNG for suicune in the HG game without the aid of an AR for IV checking purposes and may possibly have all roamers still loose in the game: latios, entei & raikou. The part I am unconcluded about is how many frames does having 1 or 2 or 3 roamers advance, and whether it only pertains to only the kanto region or both regions.

I am avoiding the AR for this game mainly for VGC checking purposes.

We think that Japanese equivalent of RNG Reporter accounts for this, but we haven't figured out how.

In the meantime, I recommend trial and error (with respect to roamer advances).

How am I suppose to advance the frame by an odd number? I have 2 roamers and I'm shooting for frame 116. I'm RNGing a wondercard. Should I wait for the NPC to move or should I kill the roamers? Which leads me to my next question. How do I kill off a roamer in Pearl? It says the area is unknown but maybe I'm suppose to walk a little more or I was in a pokemon center or something. Thanks for any help!

EDIT: nm about catching the roamers, but i'm still wondering if you can advance the frame oddly?

HG/SS RNG Question:
Is it possible to RNG IVs for bred pokémon and how do I go about to do it?
Should I save in a patch of grass, sweet scent to check my delay and then advance the frames with the radio? Isn't there a better way to check delay? ^^;

I've read the post about abusing the RNG for bred pokémon in HG/SS but it doesn't really tell how you go about to successfully abuse the rng for bred pokémon.

Ditto this, I'm just about to start breeding too. So any help would be nice O=)

does anyone have any idea how the above is even possible??

In the 4th generation, the locations of roamers aren't visible in the Pokédex. You'll need to use the Marking Map Pokétch app. Anyway, to advance by an odd number of frames, you can walk 128 steps with an odd number of Pokémon in your party, or as you said, wait for the NPC to move. The first one won't work if there are NPCs, and the second is quite inconsistent.

If your frame is quite low, it's probably better to advance, pick up the Egg, and then check your seed. This is because when you walk from the grass to the Day-Care Man, you're likely to advance the RNG further (either by the NPC moving, or simply by walking through the grass).
If you have roamers out (Raikou and Entei), you can check their location on the PokéGear; on the same seed, they'll be in the same place. Otherwise, you have to Sweet Scent a Pokémon. Remember that when you find a Pokémon, its species, level, and gender will always be the same on that seed. This can speed up the process. For example, when I RNGed my Entei, the wild Pokémon on the correct seed was a lv15 male Zubat; therefore, each time I reset, if the Pokémon wasn't the same, I knew that I hadn't hit the correct seed.

I'm at the same learning point as you it seems, looks like you're using the same seed too. If you're starting on an odd frame, pausing about half a second before picking up your Pokemon should usually allow the frame to advance by 1, landing you on an even frame. So if you're starting on frame 1, do 57 journal flips, exit the journal, pause only briefly before picking up your gift and you should land on 116.

Otherwise kill one of your roamers.
