Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Oh, dang. I was way off on my Raikou frame and I have no idea why. Some 244 frames off in fact. :(

Sweet Scenting advances the frame to [actual frame +6] even if you run away from the battle, right?

Code:
frame actual frame
2 47
53 166
172 293
299 308
314 425
431 432

So my five total Sweet Scents should've landed me at frame 431, correct? My initial seed checker was frame 2.

Wouldn't using Sweet Scent advance it by one? So, you sweet scent, get to frame 2, then you're on frame 47+6=53. Then you sweet scent, taking you to frame 54, then look at 54's actual frame and add 6.and so on... (Is that right?)

yeah I've been doing the samething for days now didn't help

But your using fishing/NPC movements, give radio a try, just make sure you tally your count. Or try a different seed for your Lati since yours seems rather high, and that can easily screw you over.

From my experience RNG'ing Latias, the initial frame seems to be consistent for one seed. It was 7 twice for another one I hit, and 8 twice for my target. My suggestion is to pick a seed with a lower frame (mine was 62) and hit it twice to determine your initial frame and RNG. With a frame that high, its easy to miscount or mess up.
yeah I already did that for this spread it appears at frame 9 for me I'm starting to think the NPCs just move differently depending on what frame you advance to before leaving the house

its not like I just use fishing I just use it to get the frames high enough then I use steps and the radio I even tried this with a different seed at frame 64 same thing

That could be a possiblity. Although, I got the same movements when I advanced by 53 and 54. I used the radio to do it. I think it might depend more on what time you exit. If you exit at one given time for each attempt, you might be able to get a consistent initial frame.

So that's how it works!

Okay, that explains why I wasn't advancing it nearly enough. Thank you so much!

ok... I hate to ask the same things over and over... but I can't seem to get an answer... and instead of searching year after year... I need some Method K seeds... does anybody have a Timid (with Hidden Power Ice) or Bold (With Hidden Power Electric)? I have synchs if necessary

Well, perhaps my theory could use more testing, but you could always save inside the Fan Club, that way NPCs in Vermillion make little effect. Then reopen your save and try that 64 frame bit. If not I can understand, Lati@s aren't exactly that easy to RNG for.

everything you've suggested I've tried this past week lol none of it works for me oh well guess this will just be left alone

I'll find that out in just a second. I'll check once I finish off Lance here.

Have we verified that the 128 steps equals the number of pokemon in your party advance in HG yet? Just need to know since I'm going for my Entei now.

yes as long as its an area without wild pokemon or you'll get those additional step advancements

But there must of been some consistency with the amount of frames advanced for the Pokemon Fan Club thing when you hit you delay. Perhaps since you start outside vermillion and NPCs are already moving. So when you exit the Pokemon Fan Club there could be some inconsistency since different NPCs will move about.

I still suggest handling everything inside the Pokemon Fan club, right before exit the door, If you time your detuning there maybe a chance you'll get some consistency in the advances.

I believe thats a fact, yes.... of course steps are time consuming so I just stick with Radio (which I truly love) but since you're in the E4... I understand... andyway... YES!!!! I believe the method has been tested and is true....

Crap, then I hope the steps needed will be near 128 or 256. Thanks for the help.

EDIT: Snorlax DOES NOT regenerate after the Elite 4.

damn... oh well... I killed that fucker.... lol.... I'll just go and catch it on my Heart Gold... speaking of which, I need to go and start playing it.. (JUST got to Ecruteak and haven't even released the dogs.... lol...)

Snorlax does infact reappear it is on the other side of route 11 under lavender town where you meet him in fire red but a little to the left it is right before you enter the building

I'm having a problem with the frames. I am attempting to catch a Lugia on frame 302. I did kill off both Entei and Raikou so they're not the problem. However, my frames are still never consistent. I started my game, did one radio tap on the bottom right, walked in (I was facing up right in front of the doorway) and I caught Lugia. My frame was 4, which added up. Next I tried two taps on the bottom right station. When I caught Lugia, it was frame 9. I've also tried much higher frames and they were never correct, sometimes off by 20. Does anyone know what the problem is?

Are you looking at the regular frame or "actual" frame numbers? Cuz you might not be off at all because when you catch a pokemon you have to look at the "actual" frame space instead of the regular one. Try that and feel free to post again if thats not it.

Just made a big update to the list of shiny spreads groups. This time I added some more Trick Room spreads I overlooked, and more importantly Pokewalker PIDs.

An ID\SID matching any group with Pokewalker PIDs in it will have a (theoretically) 1-in-32 chance of getting a shiny Pokewalker Pokemon. Just pay attention to the male\female ratios, though; some Pokemon are exclusively male (like Fly Pikachu or Winner's Path Pokemon) and some exclusively female (like Surf Pikachu), so keep this in mind when selecting your spreads.

does that mean you are able to RNG pokewalker pokemon? (would love to do that for a sick ass Surfing Pikachu...)

You can't RNG the Pokewalker yet, but what I do know is that there are only 256 possibilities for the PID. Which means with the right ID\SID, that's a 1-in-32 chance of scoring a shiny.

well any progress is some progress.... thats good news... let me know if theres anything i can do to help you (tommorow would be the best day for me to do this....) seeing as I use my Pokewalker like a mo-fo

Phew, finally got my shiny Raikou. Hit my seed four times; the first and fourth time I did the same number of frame advances, but only got the correct end result the fourth time. Either I miscounted, or messed up the radio somehow... That, or I was unlucky enough to pass the 128 marker in the single step I took. Or the fact that my partner Pokémon was facing the other direction made a difference...

Raikou made up for the trouble he caused me by jumping into the first fast ball I threw at him. He'll probably spend some time in the PC, since using him to crush Morty doesn't seem very fair...

Did you catch shiny raikou w/ fast ball b/c it matches his colors? :P
That's what I'm planning when I get to it.

Btw, how competitive is your shiny raikou? Like nature, IV, and hidden power? And was it a really high frame? I'm using frame 21.
