Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Edit: whew I found my anwser acutally. Now all I have left is one question; Step 9:
Catch a pokemon and check your seed. You should note that the delay is probably nowhere near what you want it to be. This is because during the white screen, the game was loading, and not counting delay. You will need to adjust the delay you put into emloop as follows:

For example, say I was aiming for a delay of 767 (the number in the red box).
Let's also say the delay I got when I checked my seed was 663.
That's a difference of 104 (767-663=104).
In other words, my game took the equivalent of 104 frames to load.
To adjust, I'd simply add that time to my original delay.
The new number I'd enter into the red box is 871 (767+104=871).

How do I check my delay for my starter if I cant catch pokemon?(need 691)

I was trying to RNG Entei by re-battling the E4 trying to get a frame of 237. I used the seed verifier to find my starting frame(2) then changed the radio station to That Town,These People 78 times(2+(78x3=234)=236) then battled Lance to re-release Entei.
I get a frame of 251. What could have gone wrong?

yeah the radio while it may not be very inconsistent it can be at times and make random advancements, your best bet is too just call elm to advance frames as those advancements are consistent it advances the frames by 1 for each call and using elm calls you can keep track on what frame you are on using the current seed option on the seed verifier program.

Did you pay attention if there were any commercials?
You would have to add them to your calculation, and as they're not predictable you'd have to do it while advancing your frame.

While commercials are random their advancement is lucky enough not.
Every commercials adds +1 to your frame and +X (X is the Standard Frame Advancement the Station causes) this occurs when it jumps back from Commercial to normal sending.

Also: As I've heard Calling Elm don't work at E4:(

I would like to note that I just did an attempt on my entei, and I also was above by 14 frames. But I advanced by walking, and with 5 in my team I don't see what could have caused it. But it's not everytime, since one reset none of my advances were counted and it was a frame 3 hit. I'm about to try with the bottom right in a minute, just got to beat them again.

There weren't any commercials.
I tried it outside of the E4 and still got inconsistent advancements(I checked with the Elm method)
Calling Elm doesn't work but would trying to call him advance the frame?

EDIT: Ill try advancing the frame before entering the E4

Hello, i ran a search on PokeRNG so i can RNG ho-oh and i found this:
PID: a70bd840 (ADAMANT, ability 0) 26/29/27/26/31/29 (Seed: c4140953 Method 1: 95, J (synch): 50, J (no synch): None, K (synch): 52, K (no synch): 68) HP GRASS 63
RNG Reporter says i can get it on 2010 03 31 20:59:44 2377
How can i get to this point so i can get the shiny ho-oh? I've never RNG'ed near flawless pokes before so im not sure on what to do.

If you knew what date/time you entered your game on you could find it using Wild Eep's ID finder. if you don't know the date/time, then unless you are using a ROM file, then you have no way of knowing :s

QUESTION:

If you close your DSi (not turn off, but put down the screen) and then open it again later on, will it increase the RNG?

No, it won't increase your RNG, at least it doesn't when I take a break from journal flipping.
Thanks. I figure that whenever I change the date to hit my seed for abusing honey tree pokémon the time until the pokémon is reset, so I just hit my seed and did all my frame advances. Now all I have to do is wait like...6 more hours until the Heracross appears lol. Thanks.

Does anyone know how to calibrate my time and delay when RNGing for ID/SID in HGSS? Romsstar's guide is really helpful, but that only if you already know how long it would take you to goes through the whole process.

Use emloop or pikatimer to time yourself for how long it will take, then use ID Finder and type in the ID you got at entering the game at whichever time with min/max delays. You should be able to find out your average delay that way. Sorry if the wording is a little obscure.

I've not ever done it while going for honey tree pokes, so that might actually change it. I'd try to find someone else's opinion who has abused honey tree pokes before.

I understand what you said up to the bold part, which is probably the only thing I confused the most since I've never try to RNG my ID/SID in HGSS, not even once. Should I assume those values based on the number given in Romsstar's sig?

When I abused mine, I set it to press A to start shrinking when the timer stopped. The time for shrinking is always the same, so just get an idea with that. You can easily make it through the entire set up within 2 minutes, so I suggest timing yourself to press A at 2 minutes from the start and find that delay. Just base it off that and it shouldn't take too long for you to get your desired combo.

Can someone please check my math on this?
I am abusing Entei in burned tower, and I keep landing 3-10 frames away from my target
Actual method 1 frame 346
I hit my seed, SS to check the seed, the poke is on actual frame 9 then I add 6, for SS and battling= 15
Then I do 346-15=331, 331-6 for entei's starting frame =325 then I subtract 4 for the step I will take to encounter the dogs, and 2 phone calls to elm, thus bringing my need frame to 321/3 for the lower left radio station, as stated in OmegaDonut's mini guide.
Leaving me with 107 de-tunings, but I'm always off can some one help?

Can someone help me out with RNG?

Absolutely confounded as to how I'm supposed to go about RNGing for HG/SS, does everything except for the ways to advance the rng apply to both DPPt and HGSS?

ok guys... I need a little help with this....

I am currently RNGing for Ho-oh... now my main question is... when saving before Ho-oh... saving on the ladder (stepping forward one step makes you go up the ladder) you cannot find any wild pokemon... so I saved one step before that, verified my seed... and proceeded to advance the frames.... so then I took one step forward (landing on the ladder) and then one more to walk up it.... expecting to land on my correct frame... but it seems I overshot it by 11.... so either
A) I miscalculated and am stupid
B) that step counts as walking where wild pokes are and therefore advances the frame by whatever ammount

and the other thing.... does stepping where wild pokes are advance by a set number per seed? (like I understand its random.... but lets say I get 2 per step... now if I try again with that seed, will it always be 2?)

EDIT: I'm on Soul Silver by the way... if it helps at all

I see, so I should timed myself and try to finish up the whole dialogue, name/gender/rival choosing before my external clock hit two minutes. Then, at screen before I shrink, when the clock hit 2 minutes, I press OK to shrink. Am I correct?

For the last question: It doesn't matter.

For the first, did you go through all of the steps in the guide in the Troubleshooting section?
Well, I didn't pay attention to any of the Natures of the Pokemon I hatched, so I don't know about that part. I'll check that later.

But now I'm running into another problem. It's saying that no reasonable initial seed was found, and to check my date and time. Sometimes I can get it to find a seed, sometimes it throws me the error. I am absolutely sure I have correctly entered the date and time of when I hit the A button on the continue screen. Is there any other reason I would be getting this error?
