Poison does sound cool, and seems like they have a decent amount of dualtypes to cover.. but isn't Poison suppose to be the Pokemon type for EVIL!!!

I want to pick a type that i can relate to.. feel like i would actually use it irl. I pretty much want to be a gym leader in the game lol.

But I'll definitely think of Poison. Not many Poison trainers out there.

I NEED AN IDENTITY!!

Psychic type is always fantastic. There are so many great pokemon within the psychic type. Gallade and metagross completely get rid of a dark and bug type weakness, metagross negates ghost. Slowking is a great pokemon with a fantasic movepool.. Alakazam completely owns everything ever... Starmie is really fast and extremely flexible... it can go from proto sweeper to bulky just based on what you choose to focus on.

I think I'm going to go with Poison.. They seem interesting.. and since they are mainly Purple.. I might look into the Purple color group.. and pick a poke out of that to include as well.

Going to work with a list of types, etc.. time to invest some brain cells into this matter.

Another quick question guys, about EV's. So since you gain at least 1 from every wild Pokemon you battle, does this mean you're always gaining EVs no matter what? For example, the Pokemon I used on my ingame play through would be basically useless in competitive play cause they've gained every different kind of EV most likely? Hopefully this question makes sense, thanks guys.

Yes, you're always gaining EVs until your Pokemon max them out. However, there are certain berries (easy to get in DPP) that can remove unwanted EVs if you are concerned about using your in-game team competitively.

Alright, cool. So basically what I'm assuming is that when people want to build a competitive team they just start from a brand new hatched Pokemon? I'm new to this haha.

You could use recently caught Pokemon as well since wild Pokemon don't have any EVs to start. You could also use the EV reducing berries (Pomeg, Kelpsey, etc.) to remove the EVs of Pokemon you already trained.

Technically incorrect - you only gain EVs when you gain EXP. So no link battles or anything. that said, level 100's can gain EVs, they just don't ever count.

You can't Magic Coat Taunt or Torment?

Nope. A list of what it does bounce is here: http://www.smogon.com/dp/moves/magic_coat

Is this an appropriate forum to ask questions about the OU metagame, because if it is, I have some questions about latias. If not, please direct me to a more appropriate forum.

Thank You

Okay, here's my question. In your opinion, is latias broken in OU? My honest opinion about latias has never changed. Latias is just as much of an uber as her brother is, so I don't understand why we chose to ban latios to ubers and let latias stay in OU.

A bunch of stuff about Poisons.

Not to mention the Poison type gets access to a TON of Explosions and not just Explosions big packing a punch Explosions of decent Attack stats or Pokemon that are hard to take down, Muk, Skuntank, Weezing etc. If you ever find a team you're up against has this one Pokemon that totally handles your team really well you can easily get rid of it and (Literally) blow a big hole in their defenses it's not likely they'll have more Pokemon that can counter a Poison Mono team whereas you sure are going to be fine without a single Poison due to the other 5. Only really Steels and Ghosts can dodge this so just make sure your team isn't really weak to any Steels or Ghosts then anything else that might be able to counter or sweep can be dealt with by a simple 1 for 1 trade.

Anyway my question is if a Pokemon has Flash Fire and Baton Pass (Like Rapidash) and it switches in on a Fire move to get that Firepower boost then uses Agility and Passes it to something. Does it then also pass that Firepower boost if I pass to a non fire Pokemon but throw on a common off-type available Fire move like Fire Punch or something? Baton Pass states it passes all stat boosts and some other effects but Flash Fire states it boosts all Fire MOVES and not the Attack stat when using a Fire move.

I believe that neither Latias nor Latios are overpowerd and hence they could be both OU for me. A vast majority of the suspect voters appear to disagree with me, though. That's why we vote on the suspects....

Also note that this thread is not made to post speculations on new moves\Pkm, keep that in mind before you ask other questions like the one I just deleted, thanks.

In HGSS, is it possible to use the GTS without having the National Dex? I want a Remoraid from the pokewalker route for my team

IIRC, you can only use GTS for pokemon you've already seen.

Just find someone to trade you one (or be willing to act as your "second DS" if you have a Remoraid in mind).

Yes. The minute you get to Goldenrod (or Eurkatec where Bill fixes the wi-fi)

You unlock a course for the PokeWalker when you get a Pokemon from a foreign country over GTs. That's what she meant by Remoraid. Keep in mind: getting the right Pokes on the PokeWalkers event courses can be annoying....

Unless you also know the Pokemon's IVs, then no, you can't determine EVs.

Not 100% true. Using EV berries, you can make some progress in figuring out rough values (to within 10 EVs), as long as the you have <100 EVs in the stat you're interested in. But if you're gonna use the EV berries anyway, might as well wipe out all your EVs and get your IVs while you're at it (you can always reset without saving so that your EV progress isn't lost).

IMHO Latias is OU, but I haven't been involved in the suspect testing.
Latios has 20 more base SpA than Latias. Latias tends to run offensive sets, despite its SpD being higher than its SpA. The fact that it runs them so well suggests Latios, which would run many of them even better, is Uber.
Of course, what helps them both is having the best attacking type in the game - Dragon - off good offensive stats, and no 4x ice weakness unlike most dragons in standard.
