Butterfree, Beedrill, Beutifly, Dustox, and Salamence all have lower defense than their prevos. Electivire and Scizor have less speed than their prevos. Shedinja has less HP than its prevo. I think that might be it but some Pokemon do have the same base stat as their prevos like Gyarados and Yanmega.
I see now that the list is much more than I expected. All of the ones you named and ZystraL named, along with things such as Steelix (Speed), Tangrowth (Speed), Ninjask (Defense), Poliwrath and Politoed (Speed), Masquerain (Speed), Armaldo (Speed), Magmortar (Speed), and I'm sure I could keep searching for more for a long time.

Thanks for all the input people, but maybe we should cut this topic off so we can continue with other questions.

But wow I feel really stupid now because I never knew that the Remoraid evolved into Octillery, I thought they were both alone in their own families. Good job Zach

Anyway my question is if a Pokemon has Flash Fire and Baton Pass (Like Rapidash) and it switches in on a Fire move to get that Firepower boost then uses Agility and Passes it to something. Does it then also pass that Firepower boost if I pass to a non fire Pokemon but throw on a common off-type available Fire move like Fire Punch or something? Baton Pass states it passes all stat boosts and some other effects but Flash Fire states it boosts all Fire MOVES and not the Attack stat when using a Fire move.

I feel it's been long enough to give my question a bump it's been like 80 posts and 24 hours since I asked and nobody gave an answer.

No it is not Baton Passed. It would be very interesting if it could be Baton Passed but that would also allow things such as Overgrow, Swarm, Torrent, and Blaze (along with many other Abilities) Baton Passing, which might end up being a bit overpowered

Not really as those abilities are "When at low health" so if the Pokemon was to recover their health they would no longer be in effect so as they pass to the full health reciever they would not get it, it would only imply to boosts that are conditional but permanent once they have been activated even if the condition changes. But some other abilities that could be passed in the same way as Flash Fire by raising a stat permanently upon a condition and then passing that stat boost could be overpowered such as maybe Download or Motor Drive

Say I lead with a Taunter that outspeeds a TrickScarfer. If I pull off the Taunt while they attempt to Trick (i.e., "The foe's X can no longer use Trick due to the Taunt!"), are they now stuck with Trick and must either Struggle or switch, or are they free to choose another move?

Taunt does not lock your opponent into executing the same move. It simply disallows the selection of a non-attacking move. I believe you're thinking of a combination of encore and taunt.

Taunt won't lock it into a move but Choice Scarf will.

Trick was never actually used so I think they would get to chose another move.

I have a question. Does the broken radio in Tohjo Falls serve any purpose at all?

No. If you downloaded the special celebii, then bringing it to Elix Forest and examing the shrine will make Celebii travel back in time w/ you. The you see why the radio is there/how it got there. In the present; It does nothing.

My question is: I sit possible to EV a level 100 Pokemon using the Box Trick? I have heard yes and no.......

No, Lv. 100 Pokemon don't gain EVs because they don't gain experience. Because of that, there will never be a way to EV train Lv. 100 Pokemon, unless Gamefreak allows it in Gen 5.

Alright thx (throws event Arceus/lv 100 Empoleon out the window).

Is there any program I can use to test out VGC team ideas? I don't know if Shoddy Battle can run a doubles battle, and there's a possibility I can go down to Dallas to compete, so I need to put something together before that time. If anyone can direct me to one, then thank you~

No, Shoddy1 can't simulate double battles. I believe that Netbattle Supremacy has a 2vs2 option, so maybe you should try that, though iirc it's not updated with Platinum and HG\SS new moves.

I noticed that in HG/SS the Effort Ribbon lady has a new quote:

"Oh? Your 'Pokemon'...It's working quite hard, I see. But it will need a tiny bit more effort!"

Does anyone know the maximum amount (or rough amount) of EVs a Pokemon needs when she says that?

i heard therewere some issues with the breeding mechanics in HG SS, them being that you can't seem to combine power items to pass on 2 IV's instead of one. I've been looking around and i can't seem to find any verification. Can any one provide?

Also, i tried combining the Everstone with a power item during breeding. The power items effect worked, but the everstone didn't. (out of like 70, all of them had 31 SpA, but only 1 modest ¬_¬)

Am i really unlucky or did game freak cock up.

Bizarre question I'm wondering about here. What happens if you enter the Bug Catching contest with your one Pokemon being a Nincada, and it evolves while you're participating?
